Notre-Dame cathedral: Firefighters tackle blaze in Paris
Just before Macron was about to make adressed nation speech... Now cancelled....
****
A fire has broken out at the famous Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris and has spread rapidly across the building.
The cause is not yet clear, but officials say that it could be linked to renovation work.
A major operation to tackle the blaze is under way at the 850-year-old Gothic building, but the cathedral's spire and roof have collapsed.
Last year, the Catholic Church in France appealed for funds to save the building, which was crumbling.
French President Emmanuel Macron, who is on his way to the scene, said his thoughts were with "all Catholics and all French people."
"Like all of my countrymen, I am sad tonight to see this part of us burn."
Mr Macron has cancelled his planned speech to the nation following the fire, an Élysée Palace official said.

SOTT Comment: French president Macron was due to address the nation this evening (8pm CET) via TV with conclusions from 4 months of a 'Great Debate', his government's answer to the 'yellow vest' uprising. His speech has been postponed by the shocking news that France's iconic 850-year-old Catholic Cathedral has been completely destroyed by fire...

The medieval Catholic cathedral, an irreplaceable example of ancient French Gothic architecture, went up in flames in the center of the French capital on Monday evening, with firefighters struggling to douse the flames.
Social media users near the scene of the fire engulfing Notre-Dame de Paris have posted horrifying footage of the fire.
A Sputnik France stream of the situation showed the fire continuing to burn out of control as of 7:45 pm local time.
The footage showed a massive plume of smoke rising from the cathedral's roof, with bright orange flames seen rising from the roof and from inside windows looking out onto River Seine.
The fire reportedly began at around 6:50 pm local time, according to the Paris fire department. AFP reported that the fire may have been started accidentally during renovation works underway inside the cathedral. Police are currently treating the fire as an accident.
Smoke and fire is seen leaping from the top of Notre Dame, the iconic Paris cathedral. Videos shot by people show the blaze engulfing the spire between its bell towers.
The fire broke out in the cathedral on Monday afternoon, a Paris fire department confirmed, adding that a major operation to tackle the fire is underway.
The causes of the incident remain unknown so far.
The Medieval cathedral is one of the main attractions of the French capital, seeing 12 million tourists a year.
The incident took place as the jewel of the Gothic architecture was undergoing a major overhaul costing € 11 million ($ 12.43 million), with the renovation works being expected to be finished around 2022.
Last week, 16 bronze statues representing 12 apostles and four evangelists from the New Testament were lifted off the spire of the cathedral by crane. Some scaffolding can now be seen close to the flames leaping out near the cathedral's spire.
The spire itself was made of wood and covered with lead has long been in a bad shape as the elements of the construction dating back to the mid-nineteenth century have been damaged by weather, pollution and time.
The cathedral was being built from 13th to 15th century. SOTT Comment: France's Macron canceled his planned address to the nation due to 'terrible fire' at Notre Dame cathedral: Macron was set to hold a large press conference at the Elysee palace on Monday. The president was expected to unveil a set of measures for the country in response to the Yellow Vest protest, which have been rocking the country for the past few months.
Macron was set to hold a large press conference at the Elysee Palace on Monday. The president was expected to unveil a set of measures for the country in response to the Yellow Vest protests, which have been rocking the country for the past few months.
The said measures are believed to be based on the results of the "great national debate," held by the government in an attempt to funnel protest from the streets into a discussion instead. "We have decided to transform anger into solutions," Macron wrote on Twitter, announcing the press conference. "For months, we listened. Tomorrow, I will answer."
The grand unveiling of the government's measures, however, was marred by the massive fire at the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, which caught fire shortly before the president's address. Citing the "terrible fire," Macron scrapped the event.
Macron is expected to arrive at the scene shortly, according to Elysee officials. Meanwhile, the cathedral's spire and roof have partially collapsed.
Could there be anything more symbolic than the burning down of one of France's oldest icons?
UPDATES 20:45 CET
The spire and entire roof have collapsed. Everything but the stone shell has probably been lost forever.
It's the worst damage to the cathedral in all its 9 centuries. It was partially destroyed by fire (deliberately) during the 1789 revolution, though not this badly. Still, it took about 100 years to restore it...
Comments on French social media indicate that people - besides being distraught about this - are highly suspicious of foul play.
12 French churches were vandalized in one week in mid-March. And that's not including the fire at ANOTHER iconic church in Paris - the Saint-Sulpice - just one month ago. Back in February, another four churches in France were vandalized, including the Notre Dame Church in Dijon. The whole thing has a 'systematic' flavor...
Who will be blamed? Russians? Muslims?

Notre Dame Cathedral blaze 11th French church to be desecrated over Lent. My Take
Re: Notre-Dame cathedral: Firefighters tackle blaze in Paris
I don't like any artful remnant of human history destroyed, but I couldn't help hoping that in the future this fire would be seen as the first big ruination by flames of a grand symbol of the historically pedophilic, murderous and grossly hypocritical farce of Catholicism.

Notre Dame Cathedral blaze 11th French church to be desecrated over Lent.
My Take

How many more Catholic churches have to be desecrated in France with feces smeared on walls, urine found in holy water, statues smashed and churches ransacked before authorities take up a large-scale investigation?
Surely just a coincidence.
I don't know what you're implying, but haven't you heard, Mr. Gray, that diversity is our strength? Think of how much anger this might cause the French to feel about innocent Muslims!

To be fair, it isn't a tragedy to everyone in France.

Notre Dame survived 827 years of wars. Even the Nazis left French monuments alone.

The foundations of Notre Dame go back to Roman-era paganism. Notre Dame is situated on the Ile-de-Paris, the very inner heart of French national culture.
This isn't about Catholicism. This is about France.
France as we have known it is slowly disappearing forever, melting into the globalist outhouse that is "multiculturalism."
Btw, Syria and the entire Mediterranean basin used to have European culture. Europeans have been slowly disinherited from their lands for many centuries and just give in to it now.
Re: Notre-Dame cathedral: Firefighters tackle blaze in Paris
There were many symbols of the alchemical transformation in that church. I just happened to be re-reading "The Mysteries of the Great Cross of Hendaye; Alchemy and the End of Time" in the past few days which talks quite a bit about the Cathedral and its' symbolism.
Now we only have photos and descriptions from various books of the Cathedral's story in stone.
Fulcanelli and Victor Hugo must be rolling over in their graves. This fire is distinctly disturbing. A very sad day.
Re: Notre-Dame cathedral: Firefighters tackle blaze in Paris
Very interesting. Probably some kind of illuminati ritual.
Re: Notre-Dame cathedral: Firefighters tackle blaze in Paris
Just heard from a friend about Notre Dame expressing her feeling of sadness. We visited it years ago together and were in awe of it, It's a sad loss for France and the world.
It doesn't feel so much like a Catholic loss as one for the French culture, history and people.

Sure, and "the Illuminati" were enjoying a similar ritual here in the US recently as well:

A South Carolina church had three of its 125-year-old windows broken and was vandalized with Islamic-themed graffiti Sunday hours after celebrating Palm Sunday.
"Submit to God thru Islam" and "Muhammed is his prophet" were spray-painted on the outside of Midway Presbyterian Church, according to local police.
The Anderson Police Department is offering a reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the individuals who vandalized the church building.

I wonder what kind of message these Illuminati are trying to send us? 🤔

Re: Notre-Dame cathedral: Firefighters tackle blaze in Paris
I would hesitate to call anyone who destroys "Illuminated".
I had always hoped to go to Notre Dame, to feel its' presence. I come from people who build extraordinary structures, from many generations back and this loss is awful.
That was a positive structure and now it is gone. It had its' own wisdom.

Can we please not turn this into an anti-Catholicism and anti-Christian thread? I'm sure there are multiple thread of this nature where you can pile on while a beloved landmark is burning.
Re: Notre-Dame cathedral: Firefighters tackle blaze in Paris
I had the opportunity about 20 years ago to visit this magnificent church. This building took 500 years to build, If the average life span during this time was 30-40 years of age it would have been feasible to have 10 generations or more of families work on this church. There were some designs in this structure that architecturally they still did not know to this day how they accomplished the construction .I can tell you this when you walked into the church and looked at the rounded ceilings that were so high up , you were just in amazement to be in the presence of something so great and that was indeed built by the hands of craftsmen beyond our imagination.
Re: Notre-Dame cathedral: Firefighters tackle blaze in Paris
Re: Notre-Dame cathedral: Firefighters tackle blaze in Paris
could it be insurance related? taking into account that whoever pays for reconstruction delegates the risk onto the renovating contractor.. hmm, hmm
Re: Notre-Dame cathedral: Firefighters tackle blaze in Paris
No insurance. It's entirely a destruction of esoteric wisdom. Wisdom that will need to be passed on in some other way that is indestructible. I hate the destruction of art or writing in any form. It wrings my heart.
More than that, the loss to humanity from the loss of that structure has very large repercussions. That is one hell of a large wave of destruction.

The truth is, a 'beloved landmark' representing evil and that helped bamboozle millions of people is burning. I'm not going to kneel in regret at it's loss.
You leapt to accuse me of 'trying to turn the thread into a discussion'. I get to say what I want, you get to ignore it. Replying is what starts a discussion.
If it was a beautiful historic Satanic Temple going up in flames, would you also leap to accuse me of trying to turn the thread into an anti-Satanism thread? Why not?
The paradox though is that Notre Dame was an institution of satanism pretending to be something else. It was just another place that practiced eating flesh, drinking blood, gruesomely abusing children and conning people through fear for life control, mind control and money.
If we don't stop recoiling at truthspeak when our programming buttons are pushed, we will keep defending and empowering these practices.
A satanic temple in disguise down? - I say one down, 250,000 to go. The world would be a better place without the reminders of the historical damage to humanity they represent.
No discussion being asked for, just how I feel about this event.
Re: Notre-Dame cathedral: Firefighters tackle blaze in Paris
Waves, did you attend a Satanic Ritual there? Please elaborate.
I hope I made it clear I do NOT believe that site was evil. Quite the contrary. I am deeply saddened and troubled by its' demise.
Re: Notre-Dame cathedral: Firefighters tackle blaze in Paris
Did you know?
80 meters Underneath the cathedral are the ruins of ancient Celtic culture and Roman culture which you get to experience with the Paris pass. This was a sacred site long before the Christians, Moslems or the Romans. Its quite spectacular to visit
