Real mermaid: A scientific hypothesis.
Hi everyone,
This is a reaction on, https://projectavalon.net/forum4/show...ids#post422452
I drop this here as a new thread so no one have to miss this
It seems that this documentary was aired on Animal Planet and I wonder if anyone have seen it before?
This documentary blew me away because the scientists have proposed themselves with their real names.
There was also cave paintings and sound evidence..
For the non chines readers, don't worry is english spoken ; )

Re: Real mermaid: A scientific hypothesis.
Hi..
To answer the question, I have not seen this before.
If this is not a hoax, it's just Amazing!!
I'm not quite sure how to respond to this, I am not a strong swimmer. But after seeing this makes me wanna swim out and make new friends.
Thinking of the history they had with our military, makes me ashamed. When the day comes, I hope they can find it in their hearts to forgive us.

Re: Real mermaid: A scientific hypothesis.
Hi <8>,
I have a theory that anything is possible in this world and beyond and also things are happening beyond our comprehension .
A good example came in a quote written by someone from Nigeria:
mermaids are real and they aren't just in human form, some rulers in riverine area of Nigeria claim to go into the sea and have sex with them, the tribal mask of the ijo or ijaw people are mermaid depictions they are called water spirits mermaids are water spirits that materialize in material form at times. the sea is a deep place, ijaw sailors/fishermen would see them in the sea. and sometimes sacrifice to them before further pass could be made.
the reason why Nigerian Christians especially those from my tribes are against going to cultural dances because the societies/dance groups who participate in them themselves invoke mermaid marine powers. the existence of them is not contested in ijaw. During the festivities my uncles say the drumming attracts the mermaids and if the beat is spiritual enough they come to shore and play, not everybody sees them sometimes they come on land and dance and go back

Re: Real mermaid: A scientific hypothesis.
Absolutely amazing documentary, I'll share it! Thank you very much.
Re: Real mermaid: A scientific hypothesis.
I have watched it all and I am stunned to see how it all comes together. I hope it's not fake, but I enjoyed it all the same. Frances.
Re: Real mermaid: A scientific hypothesis.
This echos perfectly a report I read from a remote-viewing group years ago. The question posed was 'the origin of man', and the report made by the viewer sounded nearly identical to this hypothesis.
The report was on what was viewed over several visits to the same culture over a few hundred thousand years, no speculation or extrapolation. At the time I was surprised, but the way it was described made perfect sense.
What I find disconcerting is that none of the characters in this vid are genuine. Or scientists these days all study acting.
If the people aren't real, are the names? Is the scenario? If yes then it's cool. I strongly believe that it's possible. If it's contrived, what's the agenda? Who produced this vid?
Re: Real mermaid: A scientific hypothesis.
it was an interesting watch, and it's true that we have much of our oceans left to explore, so who knows what we will find
Re: Real mermaid: A scientific hypothesis.
the first thing that pops to mind is "Ah-Hah!"
I think we may have a more realisic reason that every country that has a navy is working together, and all setup around the Gulf of Yemen.
And it isnt for a fictional stargate, heh.

Ah, but there is a real star gate there. And it's the Gulf of Aden , not Gulf of Yemen, well there might not be a star gate in the gulf of yemen, but there certainly is one in the Gulf of Aden, and actually it's considered a Sea Gate not a Star Gate, but they're practically the same either way. I'm just surprised that science is just "catching up" on so many things and yet still so antiquated in the information they're releasing to the public and even researching into.
Re: Real mermaid: A scientific hypothesis.
Very enjoyable movie, I really like SF. I would love to think that the events happened as stated, but there are so many inconsistencies. To start with, in my opinion, the shape of the mermaids is too svelte and sinuous. Marine mammals are very fat because of the layer of blubber they need to keep warm. There was a frame where a nice deep layer of blubber was shown, but that was all. I think it was used for the attempt to extract DNA, which was a doomed attempt anyway as everyone had had a go at it! The results would have been useless ,as they were. The reconstruction of the Avatar-like people was unrealistic I think., though they did look lovely swimming along herding the whales, having babies and singing.
Then there is the whole South Africa thing where only "Gavin" spoke with anything resembling a South African accent, and even he forgot most of the time. And in modern SA there would have been at least one person of black African descent in the whole country! Also, and this is the most unbelievable part, where did these scientists come from, being uniformly very attractive and uniformly about 30-35?! There were other parts that jarred but the topper was the hammy acting! But it was enjoyable!
It was as I said fun and it was a pity, in my opinion, it was so badly done if it was intended to be a documentary, because the underlying stories are real. Mer-people are part of many cultures, and we do not know very much about the life that exists in our oceans. The convincing start of this story, with its examination of the whale-song and the search for the reason for whale strandings needs investigation. Personally I believe they have increased over the last 50 years and, at least in my part of the world, can be linked to sonar blasting that is associated with oil and gas exploration off the coast of Australia. The two often seem to combine.
There is enough real need to explore this whole area without presenting unverified fiction as fact. A real investigation of the sonar anomalies and/or the finding of the strange fluke is enough for a really informative and useful doco. Much as I would love to imagine that the seas are full of these lovely elegant mer-creatures I would have been much more convinced had they been presented as blubbery creatures, probably still retaining some fur, more like a manatee than a shark (which is hairless, silent, swift and slender, beautiful - and is a fish!)
Re: Real mermaid: A scientific hypothesis.
I'm pretty sure this Animal Planet show is fiction, except for the "bloop" sound, and the Navy sonar tests.
There is a good discussion of it here: http://br.answers.yahoo.com/question...9190819AAQpQ93 (I used Google translate to read in it English.)
Here's the actor who played "Dr. Paul Robertson":http://www.kknk.co.za/images/program...e-Weideman.jpg
Here's the actress who played "Dr. Rebecca Davis" (aka Dr. Becky Davis):There is no "NOAA Fisheries Dept", where both the above supposedly worked. There is a NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service within the United States Department of Commerce (note that the word "Department" applies to a much larger, encompassing institution.
I cannot locate a Sr. Stephen Peasall, Smithsonian Institute or a Dr. Rodney Webster, University of South Florida.
I suspect that the disclaimers at the end of this movie are truely stated:
Quote:
though certain events in this film are fictional
navy sonar tests have been directly
implicated in whale beachings
"The Bloop" is a real phenomenon
there is still debate about what it may be
none of the institutions or agencies that
appear in the film are affiliated or associated with it
in any way, nor have they approved its contents
any similarities in the film to actual persons
living or dead is entirely coincidental

Many of us have heard the accounts of Aaron McCollum and others who talk about such star-gates... but is there any proof you can provide us with to these claims of yours DreamsInDigital?
The alternative community plays host to a myriad of outrageous theories and claims. Would it not be foolish to accept such things without verifiable evidence?
These are susceptible waters we tread. Accountability should be expected.
Re: Real mermaid: A scientific hypothesis.
the film looked expensive to be a hoax i for one say there's something in this . thank you for sharing
Re: Real mermaid: A scientific hypothesis.
Paul- thank you for confirming my suspicions about this video.
It was an interesting thing to watch though. I did not notice the disclaimer-- perhaps that should have been at the start!
Re: Real mermaid: A scientific hypothesis.
I watched this and I have to say how fascinating and intriguing this video was. This is truly a remarkable discovery and if it is indeed real, it would be quite an amazing find that could reshape our theory on our evolution. Not just the cave paintings and the actual 'bloop' sounds showing some evidence of the possibility, but the biological observations of the remains proving that this had to have been part human and shared our DNA is mind blowing. It brought tears to my eyes at some parts, especially when the officials got involved and confiscated the evidence. It's just unfair that so much information is kept from us. Thank you for sharing this video, it really is indeed worth a watch. :)

Hi Paul and thanks for the info...
After going through it I still can't make heads or tails of the whole thing..
Using actors aren't that a normal thing?? and I just don't take a person's words that nothing exists.
I wonder if Animal Planet have said anything about this..??
Re: Real mermaid: A scientific hypothesis.
Thanks a lot.
I put more weigh on ancient people's unbiased records and fairy tales than fudged scientific theories.
While I was watching it, few names came to in my head: Nicola Tesla, Ralph Ring's Testimony about Otiss Carr, The Starchild Project.
