What is the meaning of being awake?
Just what does that statement mean? Being awake. Obviously, i know just what the meaning is, but in the sense of the masses and the fact that majority are always told they are asleep.
On a personal note, I no longer believe everything told to me by MSM, govmnt and the like, but am I awake? I know govmnts lie to protect their interests and those of the TPTB above them. I know that the vast majority of people are merely there to be enslaved by the minority. I know that TPTB poison our food, water and air we breathe.
So, back to my initial question, am I awake? I drink liquids as pure as i can have. I don't eat mass produced foodstuffs. I respect others "stuff" and I'm even trying desperately to understand fully the whole concept of consciousness and how everything is connected. However, I have had no lucid dreaming, no manifestations, no sign on my part in the whole universal collective.
So, my question, am I awake? OR, am i merely kidding myself into a way of life that fits into some others idea of how life and "beyond" is supposed to be?
Thanks to you all, in advance :)
Re: What is the meaning of being awake?
I think you've got it. Awareness of the incessant manipulation going on around us is, in my view, being awake. And when you have this awareness you can't undo it. Avoiding their toxins the best you can goes a long way to self preservation. Like I hear so often these days "if you don't like what they're selling don't buy it" I don't and if we all did that they would soon go broke....then the skies would be blue and breathable and the water pure and the food nourishing and obummer care irrelevant.
By the way Simonm, nice topic.
Re: What is the meaning of being awake?
Well I guess there are different types of being awake.
Being awake to reality.
and
Being spiritually awake.
I'm not sure how many have obtained either in this world... A general sense of what truly goes on is being awake to reality IMHO. Although it could be thought of in many different modalities.
Spiritually awake in my eyes is being in alignment to your soul. Being true to one's self. Knowing thyself...
Re: What is the meaning of being awake?
Hi Simonm (Interesting name btw :})
I too know that history is not as told by MSM/TPTW.
I too know that the World/Universe around me is not as told by MSM/TPTW.
I too know that the I as a being is not as told by MSM/TPTW.
I know we have been conditioned to be a dull fraction of what we can be/will be.
The veil is dissolving every time I see a new part of it, I can see it because my eyes are open now!
I am different to many around me, I can see it, I can feel it.
When is a child an adult?
Like in the film 'The Matrix' those in the Matrix think (Many not even think) it is all natural and nothing else, it's reality to them.
Then there are those who are fighting the 'Matrix' They know it's all a lie to enslave them, to feed off of them!
Then there is 'Neo' The-One, The-Awake-One!
So am I awake? well I know I'm no longer sleeping!
Re: What is the meaning of being awake?
Asleep, Awake, aware, unaware, like star trek it all depends on sensor’s what we were born with or machines we build to enhance those sensor’s already in place. Its like looking for something never seen before, How would you know it, if it jumped in front of you if you have never seen one before..
No reference and all the references we have is of this World or Matrix, everything if known, may have been destroyed, burned, or hidden and outside our touch, taste, sight, hearing, or smell on top of no one on this planet may know about a concept we have yet to encounter.
Like a Radio station, this Hole World could be one station away from, another complete world, if we only knew what the frequency was. Not of this! world and that world next to us wouldn't have a clue of us.
LOL, and are we only part of this World because we are in it. What are we, when we are not part of our collective thinking. I think, there for I am, just dose’t seem to fit anymore when its base on the total sum of a life time of thinking.
Who’s thinking, and what made it so, ? A combination or string of words, like a math problem will add up to anything you want to create or any World your in would create around you, give that a few thousand years and it becomes Law or Gospel or some ones Truth.
Change your thinking -- changes your World all based on Human thinking and manipulating words? History? Or stimulus to all our senses or any combination so chosen for our collective benefit?
“Ya” I would say taking on the Matrix, when its all compartmentalized, like a human body, were a few cells in your toe’s believe they are awake, compared to what your ear lobes are thinking and believing in. Yet at the same moment your heart beats because of the invisible - - - - - You fill in the blank, Makes the heart beat and afords life to happen before the possess of thinking or building of thought, there for I am,? Before one ever grew Up?
So being Awake or asleep is, yet just another train of thought.. And thinking dose not make it so.. It just means one is more active than the person we are standing next to. :ballchain: :fencing: :grouphug: Good topic ......
Re: What is the meaning of being awake?
Self realization is an ineffable experience and awakening in physical, spiritual, mental, and etheric level are all part of the process. Awareness of matrix, powers that be and power echelon in this planet, knowledge of black ops…etc., is only early phase but is the veil of forgetfulness still there?? ..for me, there still is…therefore for me, knowing the deceit of the matrix and the resistance to it and hoping to change it, not empowering evil by abhorring it and hating those that inflict such negativity and abuse upon others seems to be contraindicated. We cannot fuel this fire with hate. Also, we cannot force progress of the soul but indeed open ourselves up to all knowledge (as observers), use power of discernment, find what resonates with our truth and spiritual beliefs and research it deeply.
We are all part of the Source. Knowing and realizing it are two things. Realizing it is being awakened. Reading it and resonating with so called truths are for me only the early phase of awakening in this incarnation. My solace is my higher self knows all and via karma (knowledge seeking) I will be able to integrate incarnations to higher self.
Re: What is the meaning of being awake?
I like to say , it's thinking for yourself instead of letting the media tell you what you should think about any given subject ...
Re: What is the meaning of being awake?
Being awake is simple:
It means your are no longer sleeping through life!
Re: What is the meaning of being awake?
Being awake is not a destination, it is a process. I would have told you I was awake 10 years ago . The awake that I experienced then looks nothing like what it looks like to me now. In a way, the more more awake I become the less I know.
Re: What is the meaning of being awake?
It's knowing that there are some essential things about this reality that you do not know and want to
Re: What is the meaning of being awake?
Standing centered in the truth of one's being, unwilling to let it be compromised by outside forces. Having trust in the righteousness of one's own truth, not by reasoning about it, but by feeling peaceful/harmonious about it. Letting this truth lead oneself even if conditioned logic/reason tells oneself otherwise.

What is the meaning of being awake?
to me it is;
- Understanding Live is a cycle of reincarnation in wich your soul essence eventualy grows into a higher timeless being that helps itself progressing by being its intuition, so we are 3-in-1, the flesh body, the soul, the higher self.
-understanding that we can not possibly be the only intelligent lifeform in the cosmos.
- understanding that our creation was not an act of altruism, but to make independent workers (why else would we use only a mere 10% of our braincapacity).
- understanding that governments see the ppl as exploitable livestock, best exploied by keeping them ignorant about everything except things that make them more profitable.

Re: What is the meaning of being awake?
I'm a member of Linked In, in their Website, in the section "Spirituality and Spiritual Souls", a member had this definition: "A person who can distinguish between right and wrong, one who can understand other before the person tries to explain, one who can feel the thorns on which the other is sitting is an Awaken Soul or Being Awaken", interesting, I would say!
Re: What is the meaning of being awake?
On the topic of spiritual awakening, I offer this written by Aruna Byers in her book (The Masters' Messenger, in Chapter 17) - Aruna awoke in 1994 while in India under the tutelage of Papaji:
Awakening is not a dualistic dynamic where True Self destroys the ego. Rather, there is a shift of perception at the moment of Awakening that virtually eliminates ego's ability to continue its charade. It has been seen for what it really is—merely a figment of one's imagination.
My understanding is "True Self" is unity consciousness, centered in the heart; while ego is duality consciousness, operating through and with mind and its opinions.

"Freedom from all our miseries, as Abhinavagupta boldly declares, can neither be obtained through the renunciation of the world, nor by hatred of this world, but by experiencing the presence of God everywhere."
FROM: ... the last works Swami Lakshmanjoo, the fully realized philosopher/saint of Kashmir Shaivism, did while living in this world. It was given to John and Denise Hughes when they met with him in Nepal in 1990. ... it was his new revelation revealing the supreme secrets hidden in the Kashmiri Bhagavad Gītā, the result of the state of Universal God Consciousness that Swamiji was now experiencing.

If God is everywhere, then it follows that God must be everything--without exception--including?

Re: What is the meaning of being awake?
You are pretty awake if
1. you know most of the main stream news are lies, and have gone down the rabbit hole of the alternative media, which also contain a great deal of lies, but you have a chance of getting some real good information.
2. The history you learned is very much construed all the way to ancient Greece.
3. The abhorent future you read in science fictions and see in movies is what we are heading, and you do something about it.
Re: What is the meaning of being awake?
IF you know that all the technologies and morality exists for us to manifest Heaven on earth are already here, and all it will take is that mass hundredth monkey perceptual shift to start seeing this happen.
Reminds me of the paradigm shift that happened with Islam. It was not the arrival of a new idea, rather the collection, translation and endorsement of it by the Caliph that produced the great leap forward.
This time it will be bottom up and internet based:
