Re: Seedy Saturdays and Related Events (Canada)
This are the sort of things that we should be talking about and be busy with. I see a lot of crap and useless debate abound. Just a reminder.

Aahh ... brilliant. Thanks for the connection!
Re: Seedy Saturdays and Related Events (Canada)
I recently learned that Seeds of Diversity is now offering free annual membership to those interested (click on "store" in the menu) and will shift to raising funds primarily through donations, rather than through membership fees. Members can participate in the seed library grow-out, the annual member seed exchange, support SoD community projects, attend the AGM, etc.
Seeds of Diversity also has a nice e-bulletin that comes out monthly and a Seedy Saturday Speaker video series.

Not Canada, but for Western Australia here's a great resource link for those interested in contributing to and/or withdrawing from the seed banks.

Fremantle has a group of Permie volunteers who meet regularly, select a volunteer wanting to transform their garden, plan the designs together, then schedule regular gatherings where everyone pitches in to get the job done. No doubt this format is used in many countries, but these work days are really awesome and great for kids to experience in cities.

Here is a link to a new, interactive map of Canadian seed companies. These businesses are sources of seeds (mostly heirloom/OP), garlic, seed potatoes, fruit, nuts, berries, and trees.
