    I think the TV is the main instrument that is hiding the fact that we are actually in a depression from folks. That, movies and video games, distracting people from the reality that they cannot help...

    True. I'm sure the underlying motivation is to make poor folks less mobile, keep the inner city and the hinterlands "locked into place" so that they can't get away or get around when the time comes...

    Entire economic cadres are being priced out of driving. For those making subsistence level, minimum wage or a bit higher, driving is a luxury and walking, the bus or car-pooling are the only viable...
