    Re: The Strangest Thing Happened

I've had things disappear twice. Last time, I was alone, taking apart a laptop in a conference room, replacing the screen bezel. When I went to find the old bezel to send it back, it was not...

Some more choice quotes to describe the archetype:

"In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not...

Re: Linux: an alternative to Windows 10

For "bare metal" drive image backups, my all-time favourite is Terabyte. It costs, but not very much. For data backup, I just use the copy command.
  4. Re: Gregory Joseph Hallett, the real "king" of England. Explosive Stuff!

Greg Hallett wrote a book, Hitler Was a British Agent, years ago. He was on the Vinny Eastwood show saying that whatever country wins a war, they have to pay for it, and that's why the US avoids...

    Re: A genuine question...

It's the move to replace nature that bothers me. It's a scam to swindle us out of our planet and turn it into a toxic waste dump of natural resources for ... someone out there.

Re: Linux: an alternative to Windows 10

Mint lacked stability. I settled on Debian Cinnamon several years ago. I like Fedora Cinnamon but, like Arch, is too much its own universe, fewer apps. Love the stability of Debian with the ability...

Re: How reliable are the COVID-19 tests?

According to this article, the covid test tests for immunoglobulins M and G:

Punctuation police who say things like "we should all band together"
Which one did I get you on? "Hone in?" "Forward slash?" It's OK. We're all here to learn

Re: Tyranny One Tiny Step At A Time

    Nice. But low resolution.
  12. Re: The "Right-Left" dichotomy: false, simplistic, & manipulative.

To experience tyranny is best done by travelling, not by instituting it at home. Once implemented, getting rid of tyranny requires a LOT of bloodshed.

  14. Re: What do you make of the proposed UK Post Covid lockdown rules...?

I don't know about the UK, but in North America the media propaganda has done a subtle morph from "Covid deaths" to "Covid cases" and "surging infections!" People who are not sick are getting tested...

    Re: A genuine question...

As long as psychopaths rise to the top, this will be a problem. As long as there are powerful families generationally predisposed to psychopathy, it will be what we have today.
  16. Re: The "Right-Left" dichotomy: false, simplistic, & manipulative.

The libertarian perspective has always been that the conventional left/right graph is wrong. On the left should be no govt, and on the right, total govt. So it would be more like:

    Anarchy ----- ...
  17. Re: The "Right-Left" dichotomy: false, simplistic, & manipulative.

I'm amazed at how quickly and easily China went from Communist to Fascist in the 1990s. That's because they're not opposites at all, more like non-identical twins.
  18. Re: The planned takedown of America: now (June 2020) in full swing.

Here's a cute little ad from the World Economic Forum, telling us that all we have to do is demand it and we can have a global reset so that everything will be beautiful again!
