The parts of Santa Rosa that burned "normally" are NOT on military lock down... the evidence that this was NOT a normal fire IS under military fence lock and guard... they say it is to prevent looters... but there's nothing left... you couldn't loot a splinter from these places.

Something turned these houses into in furnaces to allow for near complete combustion... the evidence of what we are seeing defies the laws of physics for an open air fire, I have ALREADY documented the wind speeds were marginal for the areas at the time the fires started. The fact that a tree is burning AS IF IT IS A FURNACE is noteworthy and should be of great concern to anyone educated prior to 1995 when physics and chemistry actually taught us what is possible with a mere open air burn vs a furnace. Having lost my house in a ridge fire in California well over 10 years ago, I will attest that these fires are indeed hot enough to melt glass, metals etc. There may not be anything nefarious going on here. Glass melts in a fire pit.

However, I will say that the property may be caught up in a money grab. That part happens all the time after national disasters. People leave after being unable to rebuild due to insurance hang ups, big businesses buy up the properties cheap, then rent goes up, property goes up, and insurance goes up. Big money grab.

About that burning hollow tree... one can also argue that it turned into a chimney built out of dry wood instead of stone... so, that indeed turned it into a furnace/forge.

The question that remains though: how did the fire start inside of it in the absence of a surrounding fire?

But that's the trick, Kristin - plausible deniability. It's not just the melted glass we're seeing here. Let's go back to 9-11: IF similar "exotic technology" was used on the Twin Towers - and I'm convinced it was - that was 16 years ago. How can you be sure the fires you experienced were also not a result of the same or similar technology? (Rhetorical question )

I'm still certainly in the 'highly suspicious' camp for the nature and origin of these fires, but there is one other thing to possibly consider with regards the total devastation seen in the images. Not sure if mentioned already, but no firefighters were on site to tackle these fires. This could be at least relevant. Because with a normal house fire, an engine is called and puts it out usually long before the house disintegrates. Maybe that is why these don't look anything like 'normal' house fires. Not saying there's nothing to see here, on the contrary, but the fact that these houses were blazing for hours and hours completely unchecked is worth taking into consideration.

But after seeing the pictures, I still don't understand how so many trees and plastic objects like waste-disposal units survived a supposed raging firestorm. Pretty inexplicable...

Here is a video (11 mins.) taken by a firefighting squad on October 9. They came up from Berkeley, about an hour's drive from Santa Rosa. They share footage of what they saw when they arrived and their reaction to it. As they come into the subdivision, they are stunned; they see nothing to save. They say it looks like a "bomb went off."

One of the things you learn when living in California is that fires can burn beneath the ground and move for weeks and pop up in other places through following roots in dead trees, it's slow moving but it happens. I do agree with the "plausible deniability" issue as well. Just like 911, there may be a few things happening in tandem.

There are other cases of trees burning on the inside, including one in Ohio (ScienceAlert.com link below). The article states too that it is not uncommon and attributes it to lightning strikes.

Regarding the burning tree caught on video in No. California, I believe that authorities ruled out lightning. But here is some insight from a National Geographic feature on that specific tree fire.

What they saw, explains Scott Stephens, professor of fire science at UC Berkeley, is the end result of a fungus called Armillaria, that rots the core of trees. The material that remains within is dry, and cavities allow fire to penetrate to the tree's interior. The tree can burn for days, until eventually it can't support its weight, and collapses. Falling trees are one of the biggest causes of fatalities in wildfires.

Yes, fire can smoulder and travel along roots for years even before popping up.

I'm sorry I didn't copy the whole article announcing that yesterday, which is not even a front page notice anymore or in the list of fire articles - you have to search your own history. The resident-only visits are from 10-5p today and they have removed a line that said they were going to force people to wear protective gear. It also states the area will be open to the public starting Sunday, but includes a threat to homeowners of disqualification of free cleanup if they 'handle the ash'.

"Christine Sosho, county director of environmental health, urged people not to handle ash and debris because it... could disqualify residents from the government-funded cleanup."

You CAN Xray tree's, it's a common practice.

Windsheilds on cars are tempered at around 700c, car fires with fuel, oil etc... they get pretty hot....

"military grade accelerants" is a collection of buzz words... an accelerant is just what ever you use to help a fire burn faster (o2, gasoline, dry wood, high powered EMF's.. these can all be accelerants).

I'm not saying she's not onto something, but the examples are mostly crap.

Maybe tnere is no fire brick in california. Or no fire place in that area that has it. I saw no chimneys to suggest it is needed for heat. do not know the codes there though. can somebody let me know what they are? Thanks.

In most of the bay area, fireplaces on any new building is not allowed due to air pollution concerns. Fireplaces even in older buildings are uncommon. The older the building, the more likely it is to have a fireplace. Most of Santa Rosa would be newer buildings (I think) as development in the north bay began to jump in the mid-nineties.
