Yes, but I'm referring to two things specifically: 1) Having the Army Corp of Engineers come in and do a clean-up after a wildfire. 2) Having the National Guard come in and do a lock-down on a specific neighborhood after a wildfire. I've never seen that happen before in the case of wildfires. And we get multiple wildfires here every year.Posted by LadyM (here)
We received National Guard help during Hurricane Irma and maybe Hurricane Floyd too. Maybe Army Corps was here but I did not know about it because I had no access to the news for about a week. But the two other disasters that I lived through in Central Florida -- the "historic" wildfires of 1998 and the tornado outbreak in 1998, one of the state's deadliest -- I don't recall the presence of National Guard or Army Corps.
Yes, the National Guard does help in relief and rescue efforts in times of floods, hurricanes, fires and other disasters. (or riots). And, at times, the Nat. Guard does secure neighborhoods from looting. But what is happening up in Santa Rosa needs to be questioned. Just like the Las Vegas shootings need to be questioned, and 9-11, and Sandy Hook, and ....................
