Default A common thread with mass casualty events

After hearing about yet another repeat survivor, here are the questions that arose:

    1) What are the chances of a person 'experiencing' ONE of these highly publicized 'mass casualty' events?

While unlikely for any given citizen on any given day, it's certainly not impossible since we see that real people, whether hired or not, are present at these events. Fair enough.

    2) What is the likelihood of a previous survivor of one of these infamous events having the misfortune of experiencing YET ANOTHER tragic crisis event in an entirely different city?

The probability has shrunk to being highly unlikely, but again not impossible I guess.

    3) What are the chances that out of 10 such events, we have 10 different people legitimately experiencing at least two of these events. And sometimes we even have folks that experienced 3 events!

Ok I'm no expert in probabilities, plus I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night but ...

    Let's meet our roster:
