Santa Claus, Punch & Judy (1948) Violent Puppet Show
( found this rather hilarious and surreal clip on the webs )
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punch_and_JudyThe Punch and Judy show can trace its roots to the 16th-century Italian commedia dell'arte. The figure of Punch derives from the Neapolitan stock character of Pulcinella, which was Anglicized to Punchinello. He is a manifestation of the Lord of Misrule and Trickster figures of deep-rooted mythologies.
..
The show is traditionally performed by a single puppeteer, known since
Victorian times as a "professor".
Punch and Judy is a traditional, popular, and usually violent puppet show featuring Pulcinella (Mr. Punch) and his wife Judy. The performance consists of a sequence of short scenes, each depicting an interaction between two characters, most typically Mr. Punch and one other character who usually falls victim to Judy's club. It is often associated with traditional British seaside culture.[1] The various episodes of Punch and Judy are performed in the spirit of outrageous comedy—often provoking shocked laughter—and are dominated by the clowning of Mr. Punch
Puppet theater is fun, and do not require much more than
time, imagination, some simple materials and effort.
Do it. Invite children of all ages, and enjoy.
and be well
