I've spent several days checking out podcast platforms. itunes has lots of regional blocks, less than half of my selected podcasts actually played or downloaded ( nobbled and useless ). Free accounts at spotify don't allow downloads etc etc but when I landed on the podbay site I found everything I was looking for, in a nice easy interface, So far I've favorited 55 podcasts. No regional blocks, all is good so far.

Some youtubers are starting to self sensor on that platform because they don't want to lose their entire back catalog of work just because YT has gone nuts.

Sarah Westall is one. Here is a section of her interview with Mike Harris on 10th September that never made it on to Youtube because she wants her old videos to stay up there. I got the full version from podbay.

It's a section where he explains who the Kazarian 'mafia' are and where they came from etc . . . . ( it's the best explanation I've heard )

Now that youtube has stopped sending email upload reminders there really isn't much point in continuing to use the platform for stuff like news podcasts. Podbay doesn't send me email reminders of new episodes but it puts new episodes in my que waiting for me to log in and discover what's new.
