First charges filed in Mueller investigation

It’s the end of the beginning for the Russia investigation. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team has reportedly filed the first criminal charges as part of the sprawling inquiry into Moscow’s interference in the 2016 presidential election, CNN reported Friday night.

Citing “sources briefed on the matter,” the network said a federal grand jury in Washington, D.C., approved the charges, which have been sealed by a federal judge. CNN did not indicate who had been charged, how many people had been charged, or what charges had been filed by Mueller’s team. An arrest could come by Monday.

Mueller has reportedly probed whether Flynn was involved in a private effort to get former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's emails from Russian hackers.

The timing is very suspect as Mueller is coming under pressure from the right
media and with the Clinton uranium deal hitting the headlines which he and others
are implicated. The left were getting excited last night as CNN,MSNBC,Young Turks
and other out lets are speculating on Gen Flynn , Paul Manafort , as favourites and
Trump jnr and Jarred Kushner as outsiders which is ridiculous.

The split between left and right reporting is crazy virtually nothing about Clinton
from the left so far this week. Looking at the news outlets its like watching tribal
propaganda at its worst at times.

I don't post much MSNBC reports as its if they are living in a parallel world.
In the reports below they are calling the Hillary claims as distractions and
all last week have not swayed from there view, that it is only the Trump camp
that is indicated in Russia gate and Clinton is a innocent victim. The guests on the
segments are still saying the Russians Hacked the emails, Julian Assange the
Kremlin interfered with the 2016 election. Its crazy how closed minded they are....

This is what I think is going on also; but it seems kind of obvious and clumsy and could potentially cause further damage on it's own.

Actually filing charges and not just the usual smear or disinfo campaign seems like a bit of a desperate move. (or maybe I just hope it is....)

I mean.. is this kind of stuff just going to be ignored?

I keep thinking that this move has to be purposefully sloppy to be a distraction; I don't wan't to be a trump fanboy and think that he's not doing the same in some manor (the Uranium deal for instance isn't as cut and dry as it is being presented). IF both sides are distracting us with political theater "battle of duality!" then what exactly are we being distracted from?

We have some easy candidates, Vegas shooting comes to mind... but maybe it's N Korea? (we just sent another carrier group there, 3 in the pacific for the first time in a long time)

I'm too distracted with hurricane stuff to be super update on geopolitical machinations (plus I only have internet at work... which is about every day, so I guess I effectively do have internet). Any other major events building? (I hear we are trying to ressurect the phoenix program in Afghanistan? that's pretty major).

I too am working now overtime. It is also the main time I read Avalon is while I'm working which is a lot. I too feel overwhelmed. Trump said in a tweet this morning in talking about the protection of the clintons in the dossier scandal "...Do Something". But none of us are going to do anything. We will read information and hope someone does something. We feel overwhelmed with the mundane aspects of our lives.

You ask if elements of both parties are in on a major distraction what are we being distracted from? I feel the cashless world is a major necessity for the elites to enslave us. If whatever this congressman grassley is trying to sponsor regarding going cashless it is slavery for us, all the while we are fixated on the russia scandal... but, what do I know....

When Trump alluded to this being a modern day Watergate, he wasn't kidding, even if the enormity of what it implies was understated.

Hannity described it as "the biggest political scandal in American History". Also correct.

This is literally opening the lid on the can of worms which goes back to Benghazi & beyond. It goes right back to Eisenhower's warning of the rise of Military Industrial Complex. JFK warned us again.

end both he and the Chris Wallace still say the Russians hacked the DNC and
Julian Assange is our enemy....Serious flaws imo as they must be aware that

Three former Trump campaign officials charged by special counsel

Special prosecutor Robert S. Mueller III on Monday revealed charges against three former Trump campaign officials — including onetime campaign chairman Paul Manafort — marking the first criminal allegations to come from probes into possible Russian influence in U.S. political affairs.

One of the three men charged, former Trump foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos, pleaded guilty earlier this month to making a false statement to FBI investigators who asked about his contacts with a foreigner who claimed to have high-level Russian connections. The agreement was unsealed Monday.

Court documents described extensive efforts Papadopoulos made to try to broker connections with Russian officials and arrange a meeting between them and the Trump campaign, though some emails show his offers were rebuffed.

The third person charged was Manafort’s longtime business partner, Rick Gates.............


The special counsel alleged that for nearly a decade Manafort and Gates laundered money through scores of U.S. and foreign corporations, partnerships and bank accounts, and gave false statements to the Justice Department and others when asked about their work on behalf of a foreign entity.

All told, more than $75 million flowed through offshore accounts, the special counsel alleged. Manafort, the special counsel said, laundered more than $18 million, using his wealth acquired overseas to “enjoy a lavish lifestyle” in the United States, purchasing multimillion dollar properties and paying for home renovation.

Manafort is 'going down' in a criminal investigation that will reach right to the top.
