Default Top 8 carcinogenic food additives

Top 8 carcinogenic food additives and ingredients BANNED nearly everywhere in
the world except … wait for it … the United States of America

(Natural News) There’s one reason the United States has such loose regulations
when it comes to allowing known carcinogens and health-crippling chemicals to be
put in our most popular food products: It’s a big bread winner for the
pharmaceutical industry. Why? It’s almost inevitable in America that once you
start reeling from the effects of eating chemicals that you will visit a medical
doctor, who will then prescribe chemical drugs to “manage” the symptoms of toxic
    food additive disorder.

You see, most countries around the world have a universal healthcare insurance
system that provides relative equality of access, with fees set and maintained
by a government committee. That means the government wants their citizens to be
healthy in order to protect the people and the national budget. In America,
however, the sicker the citizens get, the more money gets pocketed by the
government, the sick care industry, and of course the toxic food industry, all
of which have free reign over the US regulatory industries, such as the FDA, the
    CDC and the USDA.

That, my friends, is why it’s not a conspiracy theory that most conventional
food in the USA is loaded with food toxins, including artificial flavors,
colors, hormones, antibiotics, bleach, ammonia, conditioners, preservatives,
industrial pollutants, insecticides and weedkiller. This is another reason why
medical doctors in the USA are never trained or educated about nutrition in
medical school. Why would a doctor trained to push chemical drugs for a living
get training on how to help people eat foods that are chemical-free? It just
wouldn’t make sense to the insidious Ponzi scheme we know as chronic
symptom-management healthcare today. Here come the eight known food poisons most
of the world bans, except for the USA.
    #1. Flame-retardant chemicals in drinks

Originally patented as a flame retardant, brominated vegetable oil (BVO) is a
synthetic chemical that can be found in numerous popular drinks in the USA,
including sodas and sports drinks. Would you consume a beverage that you knew
contained a little bit of gasoline, kerosene or diesel fuel? Why not? Is that
because you’re smart and have common sense, or because you recognize the names
as highly flammable fuels? What if you found out gasoline helped preserve your
favorite foods and drinks? Would you add just a little to preserve their shelf
life and so you wouldn’t have to worry about them “going bad” anymore? Start
scanning every drink you’re considering consuming for BVO. It’s dangerous for
humans to consume. In fact, BVO bio-accumulates in fatty human tissue and even
in breast milk, and can also cause iodine deficiency and nerve disorders.
#2. Meat tainted with dangerous drugs like ractopamine and other synthetic
    hormones

At least a third of U.S. cows, pigs, turkeys and chickens are jacked up with the
well-known asthma drug called ractopamine to plump them up right before their
heads are chopped off or their throats slit. Yes, most of the drugs are still in
the meat when you eat it. Ractopamine-laced meat is banned in over 150 different
countries around the world, including Russia, China and Europe, yet for the
reason covered earlier, U.S. meats are not even tested for it at all. The FDA
approved rBGH and rBST growth hormones for drugging up cows in 1993. Most of
those cows must be treated with antibiotics and many suffer birth defects. No
meat in the U.S. has to bear even so much as a label warning about toxic,
    dangerous meat drugs.
#3. Gelatin: Reduced animal parts you would never eat, if you only knew

Did you know that Starburst candy in America contains gelatin, but not the ones
sold in other countries? That’s because gelatin is banned nearly everywhere else
in the world. Why? Gelatin is made from the body parts of infected and drugged
animals that aren’t used for fast food, like muscles, hooves, feet, hides and
connective tissues. It’s all boiled down (reduced), loaded with sugar and food
coloring, and sold to our children as candy. Other countries ban gelatin,
knowing how toxic it can be for humans to consume, but not America! You would
not believe how many foods and candies contain gelatin. Avoid marshmallows, gel
capsule vitamins, fruit snacks, Jello, gummy worms, gummy bears, gummy “cola”
candy, and often sour cream and cake frosting.
    #4. Artificial food dyes

You can make the most beautiful salad from naturally colorful fruits and
vegetables, and food dyes can also be made from unlimited food ingredients, but
in America, nearly every food item that’s colorful is made with toxic industrial
dyes, including children’s candy. From rainbow candies and red-tinted salmon to
super-orange mac-n-cheese, toxic artificial colorants include yellow #5, yellow
#6 and red #40, just to name a few.
    #5. Azodicarbonamide (ADA)

Not many people can pronounce it correctly on the first try, but it sure is easy
to spot! This yoga mat chemical is often found in commercially baked bread, and
serves as a whitening agent and dough conditioner. The World Health Organization
    (WHO) links ADA to disease.
    #6. Arsenic

Long-term arsenic consumption triggers cancer and heart disease. It’s on the top
10 list for WHO’s public health concerns. In the EU, arsenic is banned in
livestock feed, but the FDA defends its use here, especially in poultry. Check
    your tap water too!
    #7. Olestra flavor enhancer

    One of Time’s 50 Worst Inventions ever includes FDA-approved Olestra, a fat-free
and calorie-free chemical used to bring out flavoring in fries, chips, frozen
yogurt and all kinds of diet foods. Olestra puts the “die” back in diet. It
causes gastrointestinal disease in children, and has been found to actually
    increase appetite. Go figure.
    #8. Potassium bromate (bromated flour)

Mountains of research prove that bromated flour is a human carcinogen. In rats
and mice it causes thyroid and kidney cancer. Humans are animals too. Check
those hamburger and hotdog buns for poison!

Conclusion: Stick with a whole food plant-based diet and you won’t need to worry
about all these toxins that are added to processed food. Watch the video below

Rat hairs are highly desirable compared to some of the crap that is labeled Generally Safe. At least they are all organic, unless the rat has been dying it's hair.

Thanks for the summary list -- very interesting.

And yes, it's controversial (especially given the corn/high-fructose corn syrup/food cheap-to-produce lobby)
but it's also interesting to note the substances that not only cause cancer but promote it's growth (i.e., tumors) -- an argument could be made that these high-growth or other combined effects are just as insidious as the cancer causers. Top of the list in this promoting-growth category, given the modern diet and process-food manufacturing formulas -- may be sugar.

Scientists reveal the relationship between sugar, cancer
    Date: October 13, 2017

    Summary:
A nine-year joint research project has led to a crucial breakthrough in cancer research. Scientists have clarified how the Warburg effect, a phenomenon in which cancer cells rapidly break down sugars, stimulates tumor growth. This discovery provides evidence for a positive correlation between sugar and cancer, which may have far-reaching impacts on tailor-made diets for cancer patients.

A nine-year joint research project conducted by VIB, KU Leuven and VUB has led to a crucial breakthrough in cancer research. The research has been published in the leading academic journal Nature Communications.

This project was started in 2008 under the leadership of Johan Thevelein (VIB-KU Leuven), Wim Versées (VIB-VUB) and Veerle Janssens (KU Leuven). Its main focus was the Warburg effect, or the observation that tumors convert significantly higher amounts of sugar into lactate compared to healthy tissues. As one of the most prominent features of cancer cells, this phenomenon has been extensively studied and even used to detect brain tumors, among other applications. But thus far, it has been unclear whether the effect is merely a symptom of cancer, or a cause.

    Sugar awakens cancer cells

While earlier research into cancer cell metabolism focused on mapping out metabolic peculiarities, this study clarifies the link between metabolic deviation and oncogenic potency in cancerous cells.

Prof. Johan Thevelein (VIB-KU Leuven): "Our research reveals how the hyperactive sugar consumption of cancerous cells leads to a vicious cycle of continued stimulation of cancer development and growth. Thus, it is able to explain the correlation between the strength of the Warburg effect and tumor aggressiveness. This link between sugar and cancer has sweeping consequences. Our results provide a foundation for future research in this domain, which can now be performed with a much more precise and relevant focus."

Yeast as an advantageous model organism

Yeast cell research was essential to the discovery, as these cells contain the same 'Ras' proteins commonly found in tumor cells, which can cause cancer in mutated form. Using yeast as a model organism, the research team examined the connection between Ras activity and the highly active sugar metabolism in yeast.

Prof. Johan Thevelein (VIB-KU Leuven): "We observed in yeast that sugar degradation is linked via the intermediate fructose 1,6-biophosphate to the activation of Ras proteins, which stimulate the multiplication of both yeast and cancer cells. It is striking that this mechanism has been conserved throughout the long evolution of yeast cell to human.

"The main advantage of using yeast was that our research was not affected by the additional regulatory mechanisms of mammalian cells, which conceal crucial underlying processes. We were thus able to target this process in yeast cells and confirm its presence in mammalian cells. However, the findings are not sufficient to identify the primary cause of the Warburg effect. Further research is needed to find out whether this primary cause is also conserved in yeast cells."

I think it's about time to call things with their real names, an example: Food. We need to stop calling food all those PRODUCTS made in factories. That is not food, food is what GOD gave us in nature. Anything that is contained in a jar of glass, plastic bag, cardboard box, plastic jar and it has a NAME and BRAND, something that's shown in TV as food, it's not FOOD. Let's take some accountability here and stop being lazy; let's start cooking at home! Cheaper, healthier, flavorful and it helps families to reconnect. Let's go back to the time when mom was cooking and the children were close to her not in their bedrooms playing video games or watching unnappropiate content on TV, computer or cell phone. Wouldn't that be nice?

An important point on these artificial food dyes-- many of these food dyes are also in prescription medications. Below is an abstract describing a link between these dyes in medications & skin issues.

    Quote Abstract

Excipients are defined as inert substances added to a drug or food to confer a suitable consistency, appearance, or form. They may be added for bulk, to change dissolution or the kinetics of absorption, to improve stability, to influence palatability, or to create a distinctive appearance.

The last function may depend heavily on the use of coloring agents, especially when there are multiple dosages (such as with warfarin), and dose confusion may result in profound complications.

While described as inert, excipients have been associated with triggering immunological reactions, although this is almost never considered in common practice when patients have reactions to medications, even when they appear to react to many different and distinct drugs.

We have found a cohort of 11 patients with chronic, unexplained pruritic skin disorders that have responded to medication changes centered around avoidance of coloring agents, particularly FD&C Blue No. 1 (bright blue) and Blue No. 2 (indigo carmine). We believe that reactions to agents that color medications and foods may be more common than previously appreciated and that recognition of this phenomenon may provide therapeutic alternatives to patients with intractable pruritic disorders.

Thanks for this post. I find one of the most difficult things to explain to patients is the above mentioned so called food enhancers or additives/preservatives affecting peoples health. Most people ask questions about salts, sugars, fats etc. and do not understand that these are the wrong questions and concerns with regard to food. What we need to be talking about is the prevalence of "Food Like Products" and "Substantially Equivalent" food replacements combined with genetic modifications soaked in considerable pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. In the United States, studies show childhood cancer rates have increased by 40 percent in just a mere 16 years, and modern foods are likely to blame. But this can not be tracked or researched because the politicians vote against appropriate food labeling. An example of this would be if you buy a weed killer and the packaging has a poison alert on the outside in large bold letters. This poison alert tells you of the potential dangers to a person who accidentally ingest it or is exposed to it. BUT... this same poison is in our FOOD and there is no poison warning on the label. You can thank your elected representatives for this policy. We would not want to be able to track people's health effects due to those food additives, genetic modifications or pesticides. This could be costly to the corporations that write those big election checks.

We are being poisoned so badly as a naive public by food policies and horrific regulations that you would think that Islamic terrorists were in charge of these policies to purposely kill the public. ( Being a little cheeky with that one) More importantly the obfuscation of what is actually in our food like products is clearly on purpose to protect the business of the food corporations at the publics expense.
Here is an example of the most commonly used food flavor enhancer MSG: a neurotoxic flavor enhancer that is horrific for public health issues such as diabetes, adrenal gland malfunction, seizures, high blood pressure, excessive weight gain, stroke and other health problems. The food companies try to hide it in foods by creating alternative names to obfuscate it in ingredients lists on labels. Here are some examples:
    Glutamic acid (E 620)2
    Glutamate (E 620)
    Monosodium glutamate (E 621)
    Monopotassium glutamate (E 622)

Latina, you make an excellent point here. When I used to work outside the home, our diet was much worse. Also when I used to take the kids to school, I had lots of reasons to stop in at the grocery store. Now that I work at home and am homeschooling, we hardly even go to the grocery store anymore. It is all part of a lifestyle for sure. We went through a time of being able to afford to mail-order pre-packaged healthier alternatives through Thrive market. Now we can't afford that anymore, which is probably a secret blessing! I am still using up the myriad cans of "healthy" soup we had stored, but when those are gone, it is certainly time to going back to making my own soup!

Would you consume a beverage that you knew
contained a little bit of gasoline, kerosene or diesel fuel? Why not? Is that
because you’re smart and have common sense, or because you recognize the names
    as highly flammable fuels?

Honestly? I probably would consume a small amount of kerosene or diesel or gasoline...

But I have had great results with Hormesis; in fact I've shifted my "how I live" philosophy to center around this concept...

People who think too polarized (Natural News seems to be one) tend to the extremes, and the extremes are where disease and damage exists.

Maybe I'm just lucky or "young" (but as I approach 40, I don't think that one holds up so well). But I've found my life greatly enriched when I stopped worrying about every little thing, stopped washing my hands, let all the fear porn go in one ear and out the other and just LIVE.

I'm not reckless and still try to get my food as unprocessed as possible (and also take zero medication, modern medicine is the opposite of hormesis), but these very easy and simple things have benefited me a lot... and I'm not living in fear of "carcinogens" which is a misnomer anyway...

Well, this should throw a spanner in the works!

(It's a graph showing the correlation in America between the rise in autism diagnosis against the increase of organic food consumption. Remember Poe's law...)

So clearly,... autism leads to organic food consumption.

I get what you are saying here, Target. I once started reading the book "Never Fear Cancer Again". It had some good ideas, but halfway through I realized that I would have to spend my life worried about every little thing and thus fearing all of these other things besides cancer.
There's no time like the present.

Did you know that the World Health Organization (WHO) classifies animal products as a class 1 carcinogen?? A buddy of mine recommended this video to me and he blew me away (scared the bejesus out of me....cuz I like my meat). This has polish subtitles but English audio (you'd have the pay for the one with no subtitles).

i highly recommend this video to anyone with any interest in what they are eating.

I wouldn't call it lazy, I would attribute it to the fact that most families are overtaxed with chores since most households need both parents to work to pay the bills.
Mom and Dad come home from working 8 to 10 hours or longer (including the commute) and are mentally and physically drained from the stresses on the job.
To make time to cook meals from scratch takes 2 to 3 hours for prep and another for cleanup.
    That is for dinner.
A healthy breakfast from scratch takes one hour then another for cleanup.
    Same for lunch.
That's 6 to 7 hours a day in meal prep and cleanup.
How many households have that kind of time?
Surely not ours and we are lower-middle income.
Your idea is great but since the banksters decided to let women into the workforce in the 20's and 30's (so they could be taxed on their income, of course) the family unit has deteriorated such that home cooked meals from scratch are not within the reach of two-income families.
My grandmother raised me and my sister while both parents worked.
She spent from morning to evening prepping food (including veggies from the garden) and cleaning up.
Bless her soul! (Screw the banksters!!!)
