Default Extended life, diabetis and Amish

A study has been done with an Amish' community agreement on a genetic mutation that allows some of its members to avoid diabetis type 2 altogether and also to prolong their life, acting at the telomere levels, compared with those not having the mutation.

This could help into creating a futur treatment for diabetis and obesity on one hand while allowing for better, healthier longevity.

I think this thread should be for all knowledge and articles etc. avalonians find on how to achieve longer healthier life span.

Quote Amish people living in a rural part of Indiana have a rare genetic mutation that protects them from Type 2 diabetes and appears to significantly extend their life spans, according to a new study.

The findings, published on Wednesday in the journal Science Advances, shed light on the processes underlying cellular aging and could lead to new therapies for chronic diseases, some experts say.

Is this the same for Mennonites?

In Ontario they seemed to be the same as Amish, shunning technology, but since I left in early 1970’s things must have changed...?

No they are not the same group but have pretty much the same ways of living (I think the Mennonites are not as strick). I do not know if their genetic is similar to the Amish or not.
