Anyone know what 'craft' this is?

This was mentioned on SecureTeam 10's YouTube channel, I normally avoid their video's like the plague, but as the photo was taken on google earth, I thought I would watch it, as it would be easily verifiable.

I don't think they gave the co-ordinates on the video , but I figured out the location in Florida here.

Quite an amazing looking aircraft, there's also this smaller craft below in the same vicinity.




In fact the whole base that this is located on is fascinating.



There are lots of very interesting structures like these.





And some incredible manufacturing/testing facilities?



These are gigantic!!



The base appears to be run by two private military & aerospace contractors, Pratt & Whitney (United Technologies) and Sikorsky (Lockheed Martin).

It's not hard to see how Trillions of Dollars can just disappear when you look at facilities like this!

Hi Amenjo, if you go to Securetem10's face book page, a guy called Josh is trying to let "Tyler" know it is a mock up to test for something called a pratts F135 engine developed, Josh says for the F35. It is the company you identified that makes these, so it would not surprise me if Josh has the correct answer.

I bet Tyler told his mum a whole lot of tall stories when he was a kid.

Thanks for pointing that out, that makes a lot of sense, looks like it could be the front section of a much larger craft.

Yes. Good work for clearing that up so fast. It seemed totally clear from the photos, without any other info, that the shapes were those of fixed structures on the ground.

Amenjo, having passed on part of what "Josh" said about the craft itself being a F35, the part in question being a portion of the mock up is not complete, as Pratt only needs a portion of the airframe to test the engine. Thing is, I don't recognize that piece as being a part of that craft, or even that incomplete airframe. Am I missing something?

I know, I have scoured the internet for anything similar, the closest is the F-117 nighthawk but it still is no where near an exact match.

The diamond shape is very unique although there are a few drones that are similar, but half the size, and that really does look like a cockpit at the front, which would rule out a drone?

Will keep digging and see what I can find, definitely nothing like a F35 though!

Yes, thought same about F- 117 Nighthawk, seemed like the closest, but, like you say, it might be a drone. This drone is similar but not exact, if you take off the wings.
Up until you mentioned a drone, I wondered if it was a complete manned aircraft.

Drone is seeming like the best possibility so far. Relatively close.

Looks like Pratt & Whitney just do engines Amenjo, so the shell of the craft will need to be by Lockheed Martin/Sikorsky, it appears.

Amenjo, it does not look like the closest shapes of L & M, the UCLASS, X-56 or VARIOUS. Odd.

The other thing that doesn't fit with Josh's explanation is that he states that the part for testing would be wheeled into the hangar on the left, well that hangar is way to small for any kind of testing equipment, it's just about the right size to store it but not much else, and why does it have it's own runway?

All very odd...

I made up a movie with the current Google-Earth image overlays - one can see the surrounding features, the "hangars", and associated hardware..

The central bulge appears to hold what appears to be maybe a scramjet engine (or rocket engine) - a nozzle appears to show up..

Also I looked back a few years and a few months forward after the "target" image disappeared. Timeline images shown below. You can see items/vehicles moved around over time (time of the image shows upper left)..

When using Google Earth, usually at the bottom of the screen, towards the left side, there would often be a DATE shown.

Click on that, and a timeline opens at the top left of the screen.

Drag the slider to different dates to see the images captured for that particular date.

If you need a finer resolution for the slider, there is a + shortcut. Then the spacing is increased on the slider between the dates, showing the finer resolution. One can then use the > (right arrow) at the right of the slider to scroll past the last accessed image.

It's a great feature.. Usually the older satellite images will be of a lessor resolution, and the newer satellite images have a better detail.

Also, alternately, if you use the top toolbar in Google-Earth, you can click on VIEW and then tick ON " Historical Imagery" - that will also bring up the timeline. (see yellow arrows)



For instance, here is a movie I just made based on the 2/2016 satellite image capture (this is without the "target" present near the smaller hangar, but looking at the "object" on the grass to the right of the field).. Different view of the area based on that satellite capture is available according to the timeline.

As best I can see, that's Boeing's experimental Phantom Ray, which is this:



But that's not the diamond-shaped object on the ground. I still believe it's a fixed structure, even if relatively temporary — i.e. there for maybe a few months. (Two of them, in fact: one is on the grass.)

Hopeless Diamond is similar. I thought it was a spoof so did not mention it earlier on, but it seems it was one that did not turn out but was a genuine Lockheed & Martin design. I wonder if it was one that did not make it past the tests as well?
