EDIT TO ADD: Please don't miss my post #20 on the first page that offers more detailed info.

Here's a list of many of the doctors who've participated in The Truth About Cancer episodes, you'll see Dr. Group and Dr. Joel Wallach on here. I think I took it off of their website a couple of years ago. You will have to research each doctor independently to see who's nearby, but all of them should be familiar with the proper protocols, otherwise Ty never would have given them video time in his programming. I have no doubt they'll be able to help with your heart issues as it's nutritionally related. These guys understand prevention and how to treat deficiencies.

    Good morning,

I had every intention to address some of the great posts on this thread yesterday but frankly every time I tried I was just too zapped to respond in a coherent manner. Cancer is an energy zapping disease...mentally, physically and spiritually. Being Monday I had to contact the doctors office to find out what the results were on my brain MRI and Biopsy. Now I know they are a busy office and I'm not the only patient but after two messages I finally got hold of someone who said yes they are back but would not share the information with me. They told me I would have to wait for the results to be reviewed then they would contact me. Of course that lead to my currently newly adapted habit of pacing. While the pacing was slow it was steady...and lasted until shortly after 5PM when it dawned on me the office is now closed and I would have to wait until today.

I also devoted some of that pacing to the insurance company that handles my temporary disability at work because they had not yet given me a word on the approval so I called them and waited then I emailed them and did not hear back until late in the afternoon as well. Their response was as follows:

    Quote Hi Brook,

Yes I did. We received the medical reports last week. It was sent for medical review today. Please allow up to 3 business days for an update on your claim.
These are some of the many details one must deal with when you get sick and cause the occasional tendency to pace.

    ~

Lot's of the posts here are regarding nutrition. I had a conversation yesterday with someone who mentioned an alkaline diet and they briefly mentioned the outline of what that was. This will be my next line of defense and the energy zapping I'm experiencing I'm sure has something to do with my diet and nutrition. My appetite has drastically changed and things I usually love to eat just sound horrible at this time. The only thing I've really craved when I am hungry is oatmeal. Now I'm not a big oatmeal fan but discovered that oatmeal is really good for the heart. So when I start working on my nutrition I need to remember I need a heart healthy diet as well as a cancer defense diet.

JoefromtheCarolinas mentioned the turkey tail mushrooms and I agree and actually heard Paul Stamets caution not to get this produce from China as they are heavily laced with lead from the environmental pollution. Paul has a great interview if you have a chance also with Joe Rogan he did in November which I highly recommend.

Joe also mentioned while at the doctors to take notes. I'm way ahead of you Joe! My first doctors appointment was at the cardiologist when I was ill prepared and left the office with questions I had forgotten to ask. So I decided from now on when I go to any doctor it's with a pad and pen of questions. Which I did when I visited the oncologist and I told the oncologist I was going to start writing all he says down in that pad. That way everything is documented and I don't forget what they say. Believe me when you enter the oncology office for the first time it's a scary experience. You may tend to be overwhelmed and forget to ask questions or when you leave forget all that was said. It's a great idea Joe and you're right...they work for you not the other way around.

Now anybody that gets cancer and their family will be overwhelmed and this is no exaggeration. You will be torn in several directions as to what to do and how to proceed. I know that was my first inclination. Then there is the long term aspect of how to afford such a diagnosis. Am I going to lose my home? Can I afford to be this sick? Believe me this is one of the first things you think about! Many of the new Cancer treatments are not available in your area and the costs are far too much for you to even consider! So what to do? I will attempt to address this aspect in my next post tomorrow. If I'm not too zapped today...I may discuss it later today. Still waiting for those result which may lead to pacing again!

Thanks again for all the posts! On that diet...if any one can find some detailed diets to follow and post that would be really helpful. I've run into a few but not many. I'm not even sure where to look at this time. I just know whatever I do it has to be heart healthy as well as cancer defense.

This article gives a quick overview of alkaline vs. acid foods. IIRC you’re an avid coffee drinker. Coffee is high on the acid spectrum.

The Alkaline Acid Food Chart (Use This to Rejuvenate Your Health)
    by: Yuri Elkaim

The words “acidic” and “alkaline” sound like they belong in a chemistry lab – not on your plate.

But these terms make up the core of the alkaline diet, which puts the focus on maintaining a healthy pH level to promote overall health.

Why does having a healthy pH level matter? Following an alkaline diet is one of the best things that you can do for your health. From cancer prevention to boosting energy levels, an alkaline diet is full of benefits.

Before we get into the “how” of the alkaline diet and look at some alkaline vs acidic foods, let’s start with the basics – (nerdy) pun intended.

    What is the Alkaline Diet?

Our bodies strive to maintain a very specific pH level, which is a measure of the acidity of our blood by looking at the concentration of hydrogen ions.

Levels can range from 0 (very acidic) up to 14 (highly alkaline). The optimal pH for our body hovers right in the middle around 7.35 to 7.45, which is considered neutral.

Our kidneys work hard to sustain this balance – or homeostasis – and regulate our pH level by excreting extra hydrogen ions into the urine and reabsorbing bicarbonate from urine.

If the kidneys fail to do this, falling out of that tight 7.35 to 7.45 range can have serious effects on health.

Acidosis, which occurs when the blood has an increased level of acid, can wreak havoc on the body and can even be fatal in severe cases. Symptoms include rapid breathing, fatigue, confusion, jaundice, a decreased appetite, and an increase in heart rate.

Not only that, but cancer cells and disease thrive in acidic, low-oxygen environments. Throw them into an alkaline environment rich in oxygen and they’ll never be able to survive. This was proven in the early 1900s by Otto Warburg, a scientist who won a Nobel Prize for his research in the field.

This is why it’s critical to create a healthy alkaline environment that promotes good health while warding off chronic disease and inflammation.

But how does one achieve an alkaline environment in the body?

The best way is through the diet.

Just as our diet has a profound impact on virtually every other aspect of our health, it also can affect our body’s pH level.

    A Little Nutrition History

In the 1870s, scientist Marcellin Berthelot used a machine called a Bomb Calorimeter to analyze how much heat was produced during chemical reactions. He used this machine to incinerate different foods, which produced an ash-like substance.

By mixing the ash with water, Berthelot was able to test different foods and determine their pH levels (2).

He found that most plant-based items, including many fruits and vegetables, had a higher pH and were more alkaline while meats and other processed foods typically had a lower pH and were more acidic. It was these findings that really set the groundwork for the alkaline diet.

The alkaline diet encourages the intake of more alkaline-forming foods, such as plant-based proteins, fruits, and vegetables.

It also limits foods that are acid forming in the body, which means less meat, grains, and processed foods. This promotes a healthy pH level.

    Benefits of an Alkaline Diet

The benefits of the alkaline diet go far beyond a healthy pH level.

In fact, keeping your acid-base level in check can affect practically every aspect of your health. Here are a few of the big bonuses you’ll see when following an alkaline diet:

    1. It alleviates chronic inflammation and pain.

Acidosis has been associated with back pain, joint pain, chronic inflammation, and even headaches. Studies have shown that restoring acid-base balance can ease negative symptoms while relieving pain and inflammation (3).

    2. It reduces blood pressure and improves cardiovascular health.

Research has found that a diet high in acid is associated with an increased risk of hypertension. Following an alkaline diet can reduce inflammation while dropping blood pressure and keeping your heart healthy (4).

    3. It can prevent the development of cancer.

Cancer cells love acidic environments and actually depend on them to survive. Following an alkaline diet can help shift your pH to prevent cancer development.

Plus, the alkaline diet is rich in fruits and veggies, meaning you’ll be getting tons of cancer-fighting antioxidants through your food as well.

    4. It promotes strong bones.

Reducing your dietary acid load by following an alkaline diet can actually help you have stronger bones. In fact, studies have shown that a low acid load is associated with an increase in bone mineral density and a lower risk of fractures (5).

    5. It increases vitamin absorption.

You’ll get plenty of alkaline minerals, like magnesium, calcium, and potassium, in the alkaline diet.

These vitamins are crucial for many different functions throughout the body, from the formation of bones to supporting immune function. Plus, getting enough magnesium can help with the absorption of other vitamins, like vitamin D, making it easier to meet your needs (6).

    Alkaline vs Acidic Foods

Guessing which foods are alkaline and which are acidic seems like it should be simple enough, right? Lemons, for example, must be acidic because they’re one of the most tart and sour foods around.

Unfortunately, it’s not quite that simple.

Even though lemons may have an acidic taste, once they’re digested in the body, they have an alkalizing effect and raise the pH of the blood.

This is where an alkaline food chart can really come in handy. Paired with an acidic foods chart, you have an awesome visual for which foods you should limit and which foods are brimming with alkalizing health benefits.

“Alkaline forming foods” are further broken down into low, medium, and high alkaline foods. These foods are the best choices if you’re looking to really take advantage of the benefits of an alkaline diet.

Meanwhile, foods labeled as “acid forming” should be incorporated into your diet in moderation. Similarly, these foods are grouped into their degree of acidity, from low acid to high acid.

While they are categorized as acidic, this doesn’t mean you need to cut them out completely. Enjoy these foods in moderation, and take other factors, like overall healthfulness and nutrition, into consideration when determining if they should be part of your diet.

    Top Alkaline Foods

As illustrated on the alkaline acid food chart, there are a few groups of foods that are always generally considered alkaline, low acid foods. These are all excellent options to include in your diet to maximize the health benefits:

    1. Fresh fruits and vegetables
    2. Plant-based proteins
    3. Most nuts and seeds
    4. Anti-inflammatory herbs and spices
    5. Olive oil

    Top Acid-Forming Foods

On the other hand, these foods should be included only in limited quantities in your diet. These are foods that will increase acid load in the diet and are usually not great choices to have in excess in a healthy diet anyways.

    1. Dairy
    2. Processed meats
    3. Refined grains
    4. Processed foods and junk foods
    5. Caffeine and alcohol

    Other Acid-Forming Habits

It’s true that a healthy diet is critical for creating an alkaline environment. But there are other habits that can also increase acidity in the body and cause plenty of harmful side effects.

Try to limit these to improve both your alkalinity and your overall health.

    • Stress
    • Physical inactivity
    • Over-exercise
    • Overuse of antibiotics
    • Frequent alcohol consumption
    • Drug use
    • Exposure to pesticides, herbicides, and pollution
    • Frequent caffeine intake
    • Low fiber intake

    Alkaline Diet for All

If you take a look at the alkaline acid food chart, you’ll notice that the most alkaline foods are the ones that we should all be eating more of anyway.

Fruits and vegetables top the list while meat, dairy, and processed foods end up being pretty acidic.

However, taking advantage of the benefits of the alkaline diet doesn’t mean you have to prescribe to a totally raw, vegan diet.

They key is moderation. Personally, I eat meat on a fairly regular basis and yet I still follow an alkaline diet; my diet is full of the good stuff with some of the acidic foods included in moderation.

    The 80-20 Guideline

Going for a ratio of about 80 percent alkaline foods with 20 percent acidic foods is a good rule of thumb to follow.

And you’ll notice a few healthy foods on the acid-forming list. Don’t totally nix them from your diet just yet. Maintaining a healthy acid-base balance is about just that: balance.

Apples, for example, may be considered slightly acidic, but they have plenty of vitamins and minerals that make them a worthy addition to any diet.

In the end, as long as you’re getting in plenty of servings of fruits and veggies, chances are you’re doing pretty well to help your body maintain its healthy pH level –  and helping with your body’s overall health in the process.

Hi ShadowSelf, I'm so very sorry to hear about your cancer. One thing I would like to add into the mix is the Celect Budwig Protocol (which I saw mentioned earlier in this thread). I particularly wanted to bring your attention to what this website says about Lung Cancer (as you said you have an inoperable tumour in your lung).
    Quote from site:
"Lung cancer has some unique aspects which can make it difficult to treat. While it is easy to kill the cancer cells in a lung cancer patient, it is NOT EASY TO SAFELY KILL THE CANCER CELLS. The problem is that the debris from dead cancer cells are hard to safely remove from the lungs, among other potential problems.

Two of the other potential problems with lung cancer are inflammation and swelling in the lungs, which are things that can cause congestion. Before a cancer cell dies it gets sick. The problem is that once the cancer cell gets sick the immune system recognizes the cell as being sick and attacks it (to kill it) and this causes inflammation and swelling, meaning congestion. This is not good to happen inside the lungs.

In addition, there are several different causes of fluids both inside and outside of the lungs.

Furthermore, the cancer itself can cause lung congestion due to cancer cells. However, killing these cancer cells can create temporary additional congestion. This means treating lung cancer, especially advanced lung cancer cases, is very, very tricky."

"Warning: You need to be careful about adding any other alternative cancer treatment to this protocol because the additional protocol may kill cancer cells too quickly and thus add a significant amount of lung congestion. Lung cancer is NOT a type of cancer you can “throw the book” at with a lot of alternative cancer treatments. It is something you need to be very careful with."

Here is the link to the website and full page of information: https://www.cancertutor.com/lung_cancer/

I was a bit worried as I know that lung cancer cells cause congestion when killed off and wanted to make you aware of this fact. You can get expert advice and support (contact details are in the website).

Wishing you all the very best and hope you find the right way to regain your health - it is very much doable

    Whaaaat? NO COFFEE!

My life will cease to exist without coffee! Maybe just a little?

Well...all kidding aside that is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for...what to take and what not to. Thank you RunningDeer. I think for the sake of getting better some sacrifice might be in order eh?

I did want to mention this very important factor that I forgot to mention.

When I first had my heart attack the nurse in the ER asked what was going on and I told her my jaw was killing me...and I had shortness of breath. They immediately cut of my shirt in the middle and hooked me up to and EKG. Then I heard her say when I said my jaw was killing me to another nurse that is a classic sign for women. Classic sigh for what I thought...I still had no idea I was having a heart attack...but suspected something was making my heart race. I thought I might be having the beginnings of a stroke as it was in my head area.

Now some of you may not know this but one of my jobs at work is ERT (Emergency Response Team) and my particular area was AED to shock the heart if there is no pulse and do CPR should that arise. I've spent hours in training for such things as heart attacks...but never once did they tell us that a common symptom for women is pain in the jaw.

So to all you women out there....be notified now. If your jaw starts feeling extreme pain and almost like a burning sensation...you may very well be having a heart attack. Take four aspirin if you have them (as long as you're not alergic) and seek immediate medical attention.

For some reason they don't really stress this symptom much and they damned well should!

    Over and out for now!

I did not know that...but I am being very careful other than the turkey tail mushroom supplements right now until I advise the doctor. I do know when you are sick to be careful not to go over board and dive in until you know exactly what you are doing. Thanks for the link! I will check that one out for sure.

I do know many lung cancer patients die form pneumonia and not the cancer itself...so I have to be very careful right now.

I drink 3-4 cups of coffee a day. The foods I eat are mostly alkaline which help to counter the effects of acidic coffee. The smart thing would be to eliminate it. I figure that I do a lot more good things for my body than not.

pH Miracle pHour Salts Powder is product I keep on hand. I use to take it daily but since I eat mostly whole foods I don’t need it. I keep it in for the occasional heartburn and use it as a tooth powder. Note: it also comes in capsule form.

Organs, & Body, Great For The Digestive Track
With a combination of four powerful carbonate salts, pHour Salts™ by pH Miracle® is designed to help you maintain the alkaline integrity of your cells, organs, and body.

pHour Salts™ is a combination of four powerful salts (sodium bicarbonate, magnesium chloride, potassium bicarbonate, and calcium carbonate) that help maintain the alkaline design of human, plant, and animal organisms. These salts are naturally occurring in all fluids of the body. Specifically, they can aid in the reduction of acidity in the lymphatic, circulatory, and gastro-intestinal systems.

pHour Salts™ may be used daily to increase the alkalinity of any food or drink. Other uses include baking, tooth scrub, mouth wash, deodorizer, bath soak, and foot bath.

It appears there's a correlation between cancer and heart disease.

Selenium deficiency increases heart disease and cancer incidence
    https://www.naturalnews.com/032052_s...eficiency.html

"Researchers reporting in the FASEB Journal found that selenium deficiency in the American diet may be a significant foundation for the rampant proliferation of heart disease and cancer over the past several decades. By analyzing data from hundreds of published studies, Dr. Bruce Ames of the Children`s Hospital Oakland Research Institute determined that selenium-dependent proteins deprived of the essential mineral pave a path toward chronic disease early in life that may threaten our long-term survival past our reproductive years. We need to obtain selenium in the proper form from an early age to dramatically lower the risk from heart disease and cancer in later life."

Life Extension is a good company and they make excellent products. They tend to be a bit more expensive, fyi. However I find their information very beneficial.

Selenium: What Forms Protect Against Cancer?
    http://www.lifeextension.com/magazin...cancer/page-01

"Researchers have found that selenium favorably modulates gene expression to suppress a protein involved in tumor onset, growth, and metastasis.

But not all "seleniums" are the same.

In this article, you will learn of the three most important forms of selenium—and how each has the power to halt cancer development at its earliest stages. Exciting data on their ability to combat cancers of the colon and prostate are detailed. You will discover the 12 mechanisms of action by which selenium stops cancer in its tracks.

In one study, aging individuals supplementing with 200 mcg per day of selenium saw their risk of dying from all cancers slashed by 50%.3"

I gave you a link to www.seleniumresearch.com but it appears to not be working or it's intentionally being blocked. I know it's a good resource so don't give up on it, maybe their busy posting more information. I thought there was a study on there showing selenium reduces lung cancer by 40%. From all I've read, you can't afford to not be on it.

Good to hear you are staying on top of results Shadowself as the sad thing and most frustrating is the waiting and being reminded that your needs in the hands of different systems is not the priority for the most part.

Sometimes I think there should be one trained individual on each diagnosed patients case that gets back to the person with the results the minute the Doctor has reviewed and given feedback. For many things need to be moved forward for quick review and assessment, alleviating lots of added stress for those waiting for answers and would facilitate ways and means to incorporate solutions to pending health concerns with a sense of urgency and adeptness in meeting the all consuming challenge at hand.

Please refurbish yourself in the ways that give you strength and if pacing does the trick for You versus WORRY then keep the pace .......YOU got this!!

Hi Shadowself, in your position I would go out and obtain cannabis oil, probably 1:1 thc/cbd would be a good place to start. One starts with a small quantity the size of half a grain of rice on one's finger, then press against one's inner cheek. Start with once a day before bed, then when tolerance increases, in the morning too, then increase the dosage to about a grain of rice each time. We believe this saved my mother-in-law's life.

    Much love and healing light.

    Good Morning,

Sorry I could not join in yesterday. I've just been sort of out of it and partially due to the biopsy results.

The MRI came back clean. No brian tumors.

However the biolsy was not so good.

It cam back with Small cell carcinoma and Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma

Stage 4 Small Cell lung cancer is the worst kind of lung cancer you could have. It's very aggressive and people usually end up qualifying for trials when you have this kind of cancer...which means you can be a guinea pig for the medical research teams.

Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma is usually pretty treatable and can be treated pretty easily It's cancer in a type of white blood cell basically.

So I don't just have one cancer but two to address. You think someone is trying to tell me something? Needless to say I was not able to just get on the internet and share this just yet. It sort of took the wind out of me.

Thanks everyone for the prayers and support. I want to assure everyone I've not given up. I will still try to fight this. But realistically this is not a good prognosis. Small Cell Lung Cancer is the worst variety of cancer. this is going to be war like none I've waged. I'm so thankful my son his wife and baby are coming to be with me at this time. Just know that everyone of you have touched my heart and I'm grateful to have your prayers and support at a time I so desperately need it. Bless you for being there for me.

Hi Shadowself, so many people have shared many helpful advise on this thread. I send you some healing thoughts and energy. I would like to add my experience beating cancer. I've already covered my cancer experience in this post. Today I'm thankfully cancer free. I'll go for another routine MRI next month at my oncologist insistence, which I've been doing every 6 months now.

I would like to reiterate the importance of baking soda regimen. Our cat started to have problems eating foods over 2 weeks ago. He would try to chew, but then would spit out most of it. So we took him to emergency vet clinics and specialty vet clinics several times over the last few weeks. He's on strong antibiotics and liquid prednisone. Since he cannot eat, vet surgeon has inserted a feeding tube which we can use to inject medicine and food. Our pet has had full urine, bloood work and biopsy. None of these have returned any diagnosis the specialist feline surgeon can act on. At the last visit a few days ago, the feline surgeon said that despite the liquid prednisone we have been giving the cat, there is still underlying illness that is continuing to inflame his tongue. He just doesn't have any idea what that underlying illness is. We have scheduled another visit with the feline surgeon on 1/18 and another biopsy if necessary. My suspicion is that some kind of virus maybe be attacking our cat. Our feline surgeon has ruled out the usual suspects of feline viruses. We give our cat a liquid opiod pain medication in his mouth twice a day if needed.

Since the antibiotic and the prednisone doesn't seem to alleviate the huge ulcer in his tongue (it started with a small spot under the tongue, now 1/3 of his tongue is ulcerated), two days ago, I started to add a pinch of baking soda to all his food. Today, without painkillers, he is now getting around and do usual cat things instead of just sleeping in his bed. I strongly believe that adding baking soda to his food is starting to make a difference. For a while, both my wife and I thought he might be terminal and we were getting ready to face it, 2 nights ago we both cried in anticipation of losing our beloved pet my wife rescued from a storm drain in our back yard. We have raised him from just before he was able to open his eyes on bottle, and he has been with us since for 10 years.

Greetings and THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING!

    Health and strength to you.

Just few humble questions - I am no expert and do not have cancer ( or so I am told)

    1. Regarding Chemo, I am sure you have seen information regarding how Chemo spreads cancer or locks it in. I believe that what is going on is that Chemo damages or destroys the immune system (our greatest weapon against cancer), it seems to promote metastasis and prevent the spreading cells from being attacked. Should one do Chemo in such circumstances? I would be asking what honestly is the improvement in prognosis suggested in your case. Then beware that their stats tend to focus on the 5 year horizon, which can be misleading. I suspect an honest answer would be that it will not improve survival chances, but may buy time by shrinking the tumours. IF So the question becomes whether the extra time is worth the suffering (maybe not) and whether alternative ways of shrinking the tumours would do the same job , but without all the adverse effects. These growths are a mass of tissue, toxins and fungus. If one is asking the body to 'eat' these, it needs to be in a healthy condition particularly the liver. In the case of ESSIAC, it contains natural chemo (sheep sorrel) but equally important, herbs that tell the liver to purge out the toxins.

    2. Cesium chloride is available on ebay.(worth researching, and getting expert advice)

    3. I do not think anybody has mentioned inhaling essential oils (bowl of hot water and towel over head). Small cell lung cancers start on the inner surface so might respond. Research the oils. If I was investigating this I would start with Rosemary, Jasmine & Tea Tree.

    God bless.

One valid way to help the body to become more alkaline is to drink regularly water with sodium bicarbonate.

The PA member CurEus also hinted in this recent post the use of so-called GcMAF.

As per my understanding, this can be ordered at: https://gcmaf.se/

    All the best wishes,
    Michael
