Hello my Avalon friends. Can I ask if you can please add my country Ecuador in your Sunday meditation. For the two sides to find enlightenment, be able to talk and find common ground and peace. For vandalism to stop and let the people work. There is a lot of bad influences and infiltration going around.
My heart is breaking for what is happening to my country of birth.

I'm very sorry to hear about the current conditions in Ecuador, I hope that your country and your people can find ways to improve the situation and be more at peace.

We can surely have this in our next Sunday meditation to bring good intentions of love and compassion. If you have any further thoughts or information that you'd like to share, please feel free to tell us.

Hello friends,

I would like to request additional healing intentions for the aftermath of typhoon Hagibis that just hit mainland Japan.

Hopefully, my parents and friends were all okay. I'll probably hear from them tomorrow and further details.

Prayers for their safety and recovery.

Typhoon Hagibis has brought torrential rain and tornado-like winds to large parts of Japan.

Hagibis - meaning "speed" in the Philippine language Tagalog - could be Japan's worst typhoon in six decades.

It hit the Izu Peninsula, south-west of Tokyo, shortly before 19:00 local time (10:00 GMT) on Saturday, before continuing to move up the eastern coast of Japan's main island.

Millions of people were advised to evacuate their homes amid flood and landslide warnings, and at least two people were reported to have died.

As turmoil still continues in Ecuador over petroleum, flooding is spreading in Japan, and conflicts with Syria and Turkey are still unsettled, we will have a meditation to send prayers and healing intentions to bring more peace to those affected places.

It would be great if you could share a bit more about him (how you know him, his current situation, etc.)

I purposely left some info out because I don't believe in speaking of one's own charitous actions/behavior. I suppose since I'm asking something of you guys then it's only fair I give a bit more info.

I don't know him. I saw him outside of the gas station on Thanksgiving, head in his hands. He asked me for a dollar. I went in the store to buy beer since I was meeting up with friends later as a sort of Thanksgiving celebration kinda thing. When I came out I gave him $5, a beer, a hug and a ~15 minute conversation (possibly the most valuable thing). He's around my age and he was holding back tears as he told me his story.

He's a recovering heroin junky. He said he's been clean for 7 months but he was lying to some extent. Maybe he wasn't on heroin but he was on an opioid of some kind, suboxone is my guess. Anyway, he was really upset because he hasn't seen his kid in so long because his ex won't allow it. He wants to get better but he's so depressed he's caught up in a vicious cycle. I've been there 100%, I know where he's coming from. Difference is I had a good support structure which helped me to kick my habits nearly a decade ago. He said his mother turned her back on him but apparently his adoptive parents were supportive. He's in a world of ****. He needs help. Addiction is a mother ****er.

Apparently his addiction started when he was younger, he got his wisdom teeth pulled and the docs gave him oxycodones. He continued down the pain pill rabbit hole then eventually made it to heroin, this is quite typical. Heroin is cheaper, easier to get and oddly enough easier on the liver.

After talking to him I was upset for a bit. I could see myself in him and I intimately know the path he's on. There is nothing I can say to him that he hasn't already heard. That's why I mainly just listened and let him vent. He doesn't need anymore critics in his life. He is so screwed right now. Honestly I dunno if he'll make it or not. All one can do is pray, send positive vibes, whatever.
