    Default The Voynich Manuscript: now solved after 600 years

    Researchers at the University of Alberta now believe that the elusive book is written in Hebrew, using a code that involves shuffling the vowels and removing consonants. The team, led by Greg Kondrak, used some translation software that had previously been used on the UN Declaration of Human Rights, which says that the very first sentence of the manuscript says "She made recommendations to the priest, man of the house and me and people."

    Update from Bill: see posts #4, #8 and #9 below. It's not Hebrew, it's medieval Turkish, written phonetically using an invented alphabet. This looks to be the real, final, solution, that everyone's been looking for for 500 years.

    Looks like another group led by Ahmet Ardic has beaten AI at translating the Manuscript. So far they have deciphered 30% of the manuscript and have submitted a paper for review to the John Hopkins institute.

    Ahmet believes the writing is not Hebrew but an old Phonetic Turkish language.

    In the video below he deciphers an entire page, very interesting development.

    This manuscript is fascinating. I've read about it before and it seems to hold some very ancient truths.

    Reading about it also jogged a sort of memory I have. The ptb (small letters as they are the lie; others hold the truth) are trying to get rid of vowels in our language, slowly but surely, because it connects us with the Creator and truth. If natural language disappears, then there will be more lost of our connection to the Creator and truth.

    I see this happening in small ways with such inane things as the products we buy. Febreze used to be Febreeze. Vowels are getting dumped slowly but surely and real symbolism is being replaced with an artificial symbolism in our world. I wish I could explain this better. It's just something I know in my heart.

    Thanks for the updates. The manuscript has been a source of great curiosity for many years, because it was so incomprehensible. One theory was that it came from another planet, or another dimension, like an alternate Earth whose languages were completely different to our own. A bit far out, with hindsight, but a fascinating idea. What else could explain it?

    It feels a little strange to suddenly have all the answers, and to finally be able to read this text. It's also heartening though, because it means that even the most impenetrable mysteries can come to light eventually.

    I may be mistaken in this but I've just been listening to a Bill Deagle video that Bill posted recently and in the video I thought he mentioned this manuscript but he referred to it as the 'Voynich document'.

    What makes me think it's the same is he associated it with Frances Bacon 1561 - 1626.

    I've been following this fascinating intrigue for years, and I have to say that in my strong opinion they've finally actually cracked it. That's really quite something.

    Here's a great explanatory YouTube comment, pinned at the top of the comments for their first video. The comment was liked by 1200 people.

    The problem, all these centuries, was a baffling 3-way combo of the following:
    1. Not only was this in medieval Turkish, but
    2. It was also written phonetically,
    3. Using specially invented characters.
    ~~~
    Let me try to explain the challenge of translating 600 years old phonetic Turkic of an unknown dialect to an English speaker.
    Consider this famous line by Shakespeare that is about 430 years old:
    Hamlet: "Get thee to a nunn'ry, why woulds't thou be a breeder of sinners?"
    This famous line may not mean much to a modern English speaker but Hamlet is essentially telling Ophelia that it would be better for her to live in chastity, protected from other people, instead of becoming a breeder of sinners. Obviously, this translation and explanation required a contextual interpretation by an expert.
    Now imagine English was a phonetic language – in other words, one would spell words as he/she hears them. Imagine how an Irishman or a Scotsman would pronounce and therefore phonetically spell the same sentence "Get thee to a nunn'ry, why woulds't thou be a breeder of sinners?" quite differently than, for example, the Queen of England.
    And now imagine the author was indeed a Scotsman but one has to have some knowledge of how Scottish accent was like 430 years ago. If English was a phonetic language, an English speaker would pronounce this sentence the following way, according to the Cambridge Dictionary.
    Hamlet: "Get di tu eɪ nʌnəri waɪ wʊdənt daʊ bi eɪ bridər əv sɪnər”.
    Obviously, the spelling would be somewhat different if pronounced by a Scottish accent. Make your guess how different this sentence would sound if it was a Scottish accent 430 years ago.
    Now let’s replace these characters with random symbols without further complicating it with the ancient Scottish pronunciation.
    Hamlet: "Get di tu eɪ nʌnəri waɪ wʊdənt daʊ bi eɪ bridər əv sɪnər”
    Now imagine all you have is the above sentence with these unknown symbols and no information about the origin of the language. Good luck working the problem backwards and forwards and using these characters try to translate this sentence into modern English.
    This is exactly the reason it is almost impossible to make sense of the Voynich text if the person does not have a deep knowledge of the particular language of the era it was written.
    In addition, this person should also have the patience and dedication to work through an unknown, likely made-up alphabet and the starting assumption has to be that the language is of a particular origin and then test this possibility.
    I believe the Voynich manuscript can only be deciphered by trial and error by people who have the in-depth historical knowledge of their native language and patience to work through decoding the unknown characters. And sooner or later one of them will stumble upon the correct answer. It is therefore plausible how this man might actually be the one.
    Here's one full page that has been translated. This sure looks authentic to me.
    ~~~
    If you were to cleave it, this harvestable sunny/multi-ended flower with its flat, oval-like, loose and sticky seeds will be split and scattered.

    The crown-looking flower, if moist, is easy to carve and has many kernels, and looks like it has lines of hollow black bubbles in the form of a hair-like whorl.

    The shrub size stalk has yellow pendulum-like fanny flower on top and a honey-comb like pattern in the center, and if on a muddy watery base, the plant/branch collapses.

    As the kernels inside the honey-comb patterned center fill up with oily halvah-like substance, the head of the plant becomes heavy and bends its head to a side and might surprisingly split the stalk.

    If the plant has three branches, and one of the branches becomes small/dwarf (like a big button), it shrinks and the juice inside the dying branch is sucked by the tailor (creator), and is transferred towards the two healthy branches which becomes larger/healthier.

    The many yellowish arrow-like tips of the kernel/nut can be eaten/consumed by a kissing motion/action.

    The weight of the harvest is such that it will benefit (pay very well, profitable) you, the shoe maker/the looters, the hammer worker (blacksmith), the scale worker, partner (business partners), many others/the happy crowd, and even the landscaper (stalk picker).

    The taste of the first fruits (nuts) and the attractive appearance of the ornamented crown captivates those buying the plant and takes full control of the buyer (impressing), for even the dying person will remain impressed.

    The stalk and the grain (all together) are shoveled with a wide and deep basket - in a swift motion - filling it. Once the flowers are removed the skin of the stalk can be used to braid. A bowl-size flower is as valuable as gold.

    The harvester (farmer) cuts the spikes and fills the bag and barn. The buyer weighs it and feels heartwarmed (satisfied).
