The thing is though Byrd didn't mention UFO's or indeed anything about 'flying objects'; he said hostile aircraft from polar regions.

This is the ONLY source for all the guessing and theorizing (and fantasizing!) in the alt media about Admiral Byrd since then. There's no mention of UFOs, or 'polar openings' (of any kind).

This neighbor thread with Russian testimony may be relevant.

Two of the main things I have carried away from this are Byrd's inability to scout the region, and that Admiral Donitz surrendered the German military, but although people were captured for Nuremberg, the Nazi command itself never surrendered. Please correct if inaccurate.
