what was the actual "on the ground" damage?

heard any details on that, so far I've found nothing conclusive.
Action: over 100 missiles launched, ship-based cruise missiles + British and French air-to-ground.

About 70 were intercepted or "steered off course" by cheap Soviet-era defenses. The remainder fell on targets that were known in advance, because they were assigned by Russia, and Syrian personnel had abandoned them. Of the hundreds of millions worth of armaments fired, three civilians were injured by shrapnel.

This attack was what Russia allowed them to do: waste a lot of stuff on nothing so they could have a parade about it.
So, this is the same as the last time when we shot some 50+ tomahawks at an empty air base.... such a weird game they are playing... I do like the way Trump is answering these false flags,,, with false retaliations... haha

Did we just (on purpose) hand russia something with this attack?

    BTW,this is pretty interesting:

Russia knew about the FF a month ago.
Shows what's going on there. Bear says "nyet" to targeting any of his zones, you may "play your theater" in a way that doesn't affect much. On this one the States, politically, are trying to look tough and be there, but I'm pretty sure most of the command is not inclined towards any kind of hot conflict. It is hard to say why the States are handing Russia clout and credibility at pretty much every step along the way. "False Retaliation" goes hand in glove with the evidence they are missing for chemical attacks, Pentagon accountability, gold in the Fed, and a whole lot of other things. Even with the first attack, about three of those missiles damaged an empty hangar, although the leaders go on saying everything hit really hard.

The time they bombed the battlefield, that did cause major damage, but that type of thing isn't allowed any more.

Again in Douma they captured some 11 British with various other foreign agents in the command post. UK fingerprints seem to be all over this silly charade. They haven't got the knack of the Great Game yet--it's the one where they lose.

It may have been a show for the Saudis, although their mercenaries Jaysh al Islam called it "a farce".

As usual, someone found a way to make money on it: http://fortune.com/2017/04/07/syria-...aytheon-stock/

Petro-yuan has got them in a wad. Gnashing teeth, throwing trade tantrums against China.

OK GO – UPSIDE DOWN AND INSIDE OUT
    April 15, 2018

Quote This music video by American Alternative Rock band, OK Go was shot in a cosmonaut training airplane with a Russian production team. It involved an enormous amount of coordination and timing to shoot this in one take. This is the kind of fun art Americans and Russians can make when not being pushed to the brink of World War III by Neocon a**holes.

In retaliation for the US’ “boorish behavior” displayed last Friday, Russian lawmakers have called for an end to space cooperation.

'He's WON the WAR' – British general claims Assad DIDN'T use chemical weapons

Challenging Theresa May’s claim the Syrian regime “has continued to use chemical weapons and will continue to do so,” Major General Jonathan Shaw said there was no rationale behind Assad’s involvement as he had already “won the war”.

Speaking to The Mail on Sunday he said: “Why would Assad use chemical weapons at this time? He’s won the war.

“That’s not just my opinion, it is shared by senior commanders in the US military.

“There is no rationale behind Assad’s involvement whatsoever.

“He’s convinced the rebels to leave occupied areas in buses.

“He’s gained their territory. So why would he be bothering gassing them?”

In his views, jihadists and various other opposition groups who have been fighting against the Syrian leader had a far greater motivation to launch the brutal chemical attack because they had much to gain from making it look like Assad was behind it.

Their intention was to keep the US involved in the war – after Trump said US troops were going to pullout of the Syrian strife, “for other people to sort out”, he explained.

The former head of the Royal Navy, Admiral Lord West had similar views.

He said: “If I was advising President Assad, why would I say use chemical weapons at this point? It doesn’t make any sense. But for the jihadist opposition groups I can see why they would.”

On the ground reporters are told "there was no chemical attack" from hospital near chemical attack site.

Residents ~1 block away did not see / hear anything about a chemical attack....

    no surprise really...

Yeah, there's an older "alleged chemical use" from the 1940s some of us still question. Same worn out song and dance here. Although you have a country who already surrendered their chemicals a couple years ago to the international watchdog finding great quantities of British and Saudi substances stashed in these rebel forts.

Israel tried another dozen missiles today and nothing got through. Report for the defense systems versus US/UK/France:

    "Pantsir-S1: 25 missiles fired, 23 hits scored.
    Buk-M2: 29 missiles fired, 24 hits scored.
Kub: 21 missiles fired, 11 hits scored.
    Strela-10: 5 missiles fired, 3 hits scored.
Osa: 11 missiles fired, 5 hits scored.
    S-125: 13 missiles fired, 5 hits scored.
    S-200: 8 missiles fired, 0 hits scored.

The complete ineffectiveness of the S-200 to successfully engage any of the attacking cruise missiles has been put down to the SAM system’s biased design towards intercepting high-altitude aircraft, not low-flying missiles.

The statistics likely fail to account for Western cruise missiles that were downed or driven off target due to ‘soft-kill’ electronic warfare systems – something which Russian sources will never confirm the use of." (Almasdar)

They don't talk much about electronic countermeasures, although they're probably really, really good at it.

At the same time, the Saudis overstate their Western interceptors, we saw two of them turn around and explode on the ground recently. And look at Israel's Iron Dome, attempting to intercept machine gun fire. These "Patriots" or whatever they are, don't seem to do as good of a job as the ones above.

REPORT: MOSCOW HAS ‘IRREFUTABLE’ PROOF CHEMICAL ATTACK IN SYRIA STAGED
Douma incident ‘pre-planned false-flag attack by British security services,’ says Russian envoy to OPCW

Moscow has “irrefutable proof” that the alleged chemical incident in Syria’s Douma was a “false-flag attack,” orchestrated by UK security services with support from the United States, the Russian envoy to the OPCW said.

“We have not just a ‘high level of confidence,’ as our Western partners uniformly put it; we have irrefutable proof that there was no chemical attack in Douma on April 7,” Russia’s Ambassador to the Organization for the Prohibition of the Chemical Weapons Aleksandr Shulgin said at a special meeting of the UN chemical watchdog’s executive council.

The diplomat added that the incident had been a “pre-planned false-flag attack by the British security services, which could have also been aided by their allies in Washington.”

“Things unfolded according to the pre-written scenario prepared by Washington. There’s no doubt, the Americans play ‘first fiddle’ in all of this,” Shulgin said, adding that “attack” was staged by “pseudo-humanitarian NGOs,” which are under the patronage of the Syrian government’s foreign adversaries.

Russian radiological, chemical and biological-warfare units carefully examined the scene of the alleged attack mentioned in the NGOs’ reports immediately after the liberation of Douma from the militant groups, Shulgin said.

He then drew attention to the fact that the Russian military specialists found “not a single piece of evidence” substantiating the claims about the alleged chemical attack. Instead, they found local witnesses who said that the video allegedly showing the aftermath of the perceived attack was in fact staged.

The timing of the attack was also bewildering, the Russian diplomat said, adding that the Syrian government had absolutely no reason to gas its own citizens when the city was already almost liberated from the militants. Under such circumstances, the accusations against Damascus look “absurd,” he said. “The senselessness of these claims is striking,” Shulgin added, referring to the statements of Western leaders.

The US and its allies are not interested in a real investigation into the alleged Douma attack, the Russian envoy to the OPCW said. Washington, London and Paris immediately pinned the blame for the incident on Damascus, and launched strikes against Syrian military and civilian facilities without waiting for the OPCW team even to start its investigation on the ground.

Shulgin extended his gratitude to the OPCW investigators for their work in Douma and called on the organization’s executive council to adopt a document supporting their efforts. He also denounced the actions of the US, the UK and France as “military aggression,” adding that “this crime can be by no means justified.”

Washington, London and Paris “are playing the hypocrite as they pretend to be the defenders of the international law. In fact, however, no one except for their allies… has any doubts that the major threat to the world comes from these ‘leaders’ of the Western [political] camp,” Shulgin said.

Washington and its allies launched a missile strike targeting Syrian military and civilian facilities on Saturday, in retaliation for the alleged “chemical attack” in Douma. Russia denounced the strikes, calling them “hooliganism” in international relations and “an aggression against a sovereign state.”

Meanwhile, the OPCW investigators are expected to start their work in Douma on Monday. They met with Syrian officials on Sunday to discuss the details of their work. Damascus says it hopes that the experts will “stay neutral and not yield to pressure.” The OPCW team plans to finish its work on Wednesday and present its preliminary report to the UN before its departure from Damascus, local media report.

    By John Vibes

During a solo concert this week in Barcelona, Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters took a moment to address the audience about the recent bombing of Syria. Waters said he was approached by someone before the concert who wanted to get onstage and speak on behalf of the White Helmets about the alleged chemical attacks in Douma.

Instead of bringing the anonymous man onstage, Waters addressed the crowd on the issue himself, saying that he believes the White Helmets are a propaganda organization on a mission to justify Western intervention in the region. Waters said he believes that the person who wanted to make a statement was well-intentioned, but misled, and then offered his opinion to the audience.

“The White Helmets is a fake organization that exists only to create propaganda for jihadists and terrorists,” Waters said. “That’s my belief. We have opposing beliefs. If we were to listen to the propaganda of the White Helmets and others, we would be encouraged to encourage our governments to start dropping bombs on people in Syria. This would be a mistake of monumental proportions for us as human beings.”

“What we should do is go and persuade our governments not to go and drop bombs on people. And certainly not until we have done all the research that is necessary so that we would have a clear idea of what is really going on. Because we live in the world where propaganda seems to be more important than the reality of what is really going on,” he added.

The White Helmets have been known to work with terrorists to achieve regime change in Syria. The White Helmets were also caught staging videos of atrocities in an attempt to bait Western powers into war and were later forced to apologize.

The group also came under fire last June when video surfaced that showed members assisting in disposing of the dead bodies of Syrian soldiers. The US-backed “aid workers” were seen celebrating their kill whilst holding the heads of the dead.

As it stands, the White Helmets are heavily funded by the U.S. and the UK, as well as many other international entities. That may be the reason they always worked in rebel-held areas of the greater Syrian conflict. The WH serve as a de facto propaganda wing of the West to sway public opinion into supporting regime change in Syria.

Jake Morphonios mentioned this in one of his more recent videos.

As a piece of history, and a reminder, here's Craig Murray reporting on this in 2013. I've provided a link to the Genie website as well, for those interested.

As is usually the case with these sorts of 'interventions' from deep states behind western powers, it aint (sic) one issue at stake, it is multiple issues.

Oil or gas (mineral resource) is only one reason, not THE reason, but this blog does deal with the oil (energy) component of this multi-strata'd animal:

Israel Grants Oil Rights in Syria to Murdoch and Rothschild

21 Feb, 2013 in Uncategorized by craig

Israel has granted oil exploration rights inside Syria, in the occupied Golan Heights, to Genie Energy. Major shareholders of Genie Energy – which also has interests in shale gas in the United States and shale oil in Israel – include Rupert Murdoch and Lord Jacob Rothschild. This from a 2010 Genie Energy press release

Claude Pupkin, CEO of Genie Oil and Gas, commented, “Genie’s success will ultimately depend, in part, on access to the expertise of the oil and gas industry and to the financial markets. Jacob Rothschild and Rupert Murdoch are extremely well regarded by and connected to leaders in these sectors. Their guidance and participation will prove invaluable.”

“I am grateful to Howard Jonas and IDT for the opportunity to invest in this important initiative,” Lord Rothschild said. “Rupert Murdoch’s extraordinary achievements speak for themselves and we are very pleased he has agreed to be our partner. Genie Energy is making good technological progress to tap the world’s substantial oil shale deposits which could transform the future prospects of Israel, the Middle East and our allies around the world.”

For Israel to seek to exploit mineral reserves in the occupied Golan Heights is plainly illegal in international law. Japan was succesfully sued by Singapore before the International Court of Justice for exploitation of Singapore’s oil resources during the second world war. The argument has been made in international law that an occupying power is entitled to opeate oil wells which were previously functioning and operated by the sovereign power, in whose position the occupying power now stands. But there is absolutely no disagreement in the authorities and case law that the drilling of new wells – let alone fracking – by an occupying power is illegal.

Israel tried to make the same move twenty years ago but was forced to back down after a strong reaction from the Syrian government, which gained diplomatic support from the United States. Israel is now seeking to take advantage of the weakened Syrian state; this move perhaps casts a new light on recent Israeli bombings in Syria.

In a rational world, the involvement of Rothschild and Murdoch in this international criminal activity would show them not to be fit and proper persons to hold major commercial interests elsewhere, and action would be taken. Naturally, nothing of the kind will happen.

one of the kids from the white helmet footage comes out and says he was bribed with food to be in the video and that there was no attack....

Just keeps getting worse and worse for the narrative, doesn't it.....

The RT vid is similar to the Vesti one just in English. Alex Jones has shown
a vid in several segments that looks like a poor hoax that I cannot find but it
is shown at the beginning of the Owen Shroyer vid below about the alleged
    chemical attack in Douma Syria.

Former UK Ambassador Reveals Truth About Syria - With Special Guest Peter Ford

Former UK Ambassador to Syria Peter Ford joins today's Liberty Report to share his
vast experience in the region. He has notably deviated from the government/media
narrative about the alleged Assad gas attack. How likely is it that Assad used gas?
Why are inspectors being prevented from visiting the site? How is the "official
narrative" holding up to increasing scrutiny?

Yes, the narrative has practically eaten itself.

Excellent footage, and reporting. Thanks for sharing it.

Yes, Mass Deception all across the board. So when have the U. S. leaders and military said or done a good, right thing?

Maybe against Pol Pot. Maybe a few years ago when they defended Afrin, Syria, only to turn around and let the Turks have at it. I'm sticking with "90% unreliable" since the U. S. "Civil War", which wasn't even a civil war. Since then, the whole thing should have been aborted really.
