This story from Vanessa Beeley (see also UK Column website for her background on the 'White Helmets') who is 'on the ground' and has very reliable sources there when she isn't:

    Excerpted below:

Fast forward to Eastern Ghouta which is now 90% liberated from the many terrorist factions that have occupied this eastern suburb of Damascus since 2012 and we have seen an uptick in the claims of chemical weapon attacks as the SAA noose draws tighter around the terrorist enclaves. Most of those claims are being circulated by the Al Qaeda auxiliary organisation, the White Helmets.

Background on the 'White Helmets' here from the same author:

    https://www.mintpressnews.com/invest...-syria/231597/

    September 06th, 2017

    Excerpted below:

For the last three years I have been conducting an ongoing investigation into the White Helmets, the much vaunted, so-called Syrian humanitarian NGO that has recently achieved Hollywood fame — winning an Oscar, which was awarded to a Netflix documentary showcasing White Helmet exploits in Syria. This investigation culminated in visits I paid to Syria to expand my enquiries and research on the ground inside the country. I have spent a total of four months in Syria since July 2016, my latest trip having taken place from July to August 2017

The White Helmets receive funding from the U.K. Foreign Office, curiously through the Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF) for non-humanitarian aid. According to a statement made by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, “…the total value of funds committed between June 2013 and the end of the current financial year (31 March 2016) is £19.7m.” At the end of September 2016, U.K. Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson pledged a further £ 32 million.

All governments and government-linked entities funding the White Helmets have publicly declared an interest in, or have been working towards, the removal of the internationally recognized Syrian government and its democratically elected President, Bashar Al Assad — thus effecting “regime change” in Syria. This fact alone must surely compromise the proclaimed neutrality of the group.

And today's story in The Guardian, here:

Syria and Russia accuse Israel of missile attack on Assad airbase

US DEPLOYS TRUMAN CARRIER STRIKE GROUP & 7 WARSHIPS WITH CRUISE MISSILES TO MEDITERRANEAN

The Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (HSTCSG) is being deployed to the Mediterranean Wednesday, where it will join the USS Donald Cook off Syrian territorial waters.

The aircraft carrier will be accompanied by guided-missile destroyers USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51), USS Bulkeley (DDG 84), USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 98) and USS Farragut (DDG 99), as well as the guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60). The Destroyers USS The Sullivans (DDG 68) and USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109) will join the HSTCSG later, according to a statement by the US Navy.

The Sachssen-class German frigate FGS Hessen (F 221) will also operate as part of the strike group during the first half of the deployment.

In addition to USS Donald Cook, the U.S has now dispatched USN Carrier Strike Group 8 to the Mediterranean/#Syria:

    — Charles Lister (@Charles_Lister) April 10, 2018

It is worth noting that it will take approximately 6-7 days for the group to cross the Atlantic at 30 knots, plus another 3-4 three days once it arrives in the Mediterranean, to reach Syria, suggesting a full-blown on attack may not take place until after April 22 or so.

The strike group, carrying 6,500 sailors and Carrier Air Wing One, will cruise alongside the German frigate FGS Hessen during the first half of the deployment. The German ship conducted a brief mission with the Harry S. Truman in 2010, the Navy said according to Stripes.com

This will be the first extended deployment for the Harry S. Truman since wrapping a 10-month maintenance period last July. The mission will include "maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts alongside allies and partners," and they will "provide crisis response capability and increase theater security cooperation and forward naval presence" in the Middle East and Europe, according to the statement.

The Harry S. Truman will replace the USS Theodore Roosevelt strike group, which wrapped up its four-month deployment to the Middle East last month, and is operating in the Western Pacific.

The Harry S. Truman, which is assigned to the Navy’s Fleet Forces Command, last traveled to the Middle East in 2015 to join the anti-Islamic State mission Operation Inherent Resolve before returning home in 2016. -Stripes

Yesterday, guided missile destroyer USS Donald Cook armed with 60 Tomahawk cruise missiles anchored off of Syrian territorial waters, and has reportedly been "harassed" by low-flying Russian warplanes, which have buzzed the "Arleigh Burke" class warship at least four times according to CNN Turk.

What about the Hillenkotter?! I liked what JoefromtheCarolinas told us....that we have Marines deployed who can be "boots on the ground", anyplace, within 15 min. It's like we don't factor in that we already have a Space Fleet...we keep forgetting about that. As C.A. Fitts says, our economy has been supporting two "families" with the knowledge of only one!

I don't want to sound insensitive , but this is all over a chemical attack and nobodies really sure where it came from or who did this to begin with . The casualty count of 40-160 people vs an all out assault in this region where thousands would be lost doesn't seem to add up. And then there's all the fools / countries that are going to exhaust how many millions to put all this armor in the same region when in fact if we donated all the money it took to get the armor their and their support they need, the people in Syria would be well above their living standards they have now and yes be happy too, probably for the rest of their lives. This entire situation looks like insanity, the use of chemicals on anyone is beyond words of horrific. WTF is the matter with the people who are in charge of this world, don't these individuals have enough power, money, property and on and on. For the life of me , why can't Russia and the US get together, create some safe zones in Syria and then work their way out to achieve peace. Its not like Russia or the US doesn't have the horsepower to do that. I just don't get this. Why do little kids have to get laced with chemicals for propaganda.

In this day and age of 2018, I cannot believe we are going backwards as a human species instead of forward to make life just a little better for everyone. Call me naïve, call me stupid, call me not being in the real world. When is all this destruction, death, pollution and suffering going to turn? The technology we have today can help so many, who would have ever thought 40 years ago you could message someone around the world in an instant, We are better than this, all we have to do is come together not prove who has the biggest gun, missile, or biceps. If an alien ship landed here today and I greeted them, I would tell them go park on the moon until the shows over, we have a bunch of egotistical lunatics that can't get their shxx together here and until they do -don't come back.

Some of these incidents have been proven to be false, with shaving foam used orally, then filmed getting up and laughter, many other ‘faked’ incidents, but hopefully not any of these vile perpetrations real...

It's extremely important that a UN delegate or community of specialist's check out the validity of the claim and what kind of evidence to prove it to back up further action. We cant or shouldn't act unless 100% sure of whom it is that caused it.

Simple enough, but...and it's a big but...the lunatics running the asylum don't see it that way.
Their lust for power trumps any feelings towards others; if indeed, they do have any feelings.
I'm thinking they don't have the same feelings that most "normal" people do.

According to the Twitter account of Aircraft Spots, a US Navy P-8A 168439 PS102 departed from Sigonella in the eastern Mediterranean towards the Syrian coastal provinces of Latakia and Tartous.

Without being entirely off topic, only for a moment, it is worth also bearing in mind that the period of time between April 19th and May 1st has significant esoteric resonance for the darker powers - it's a period where some sort of blood sacrificial rituals take place.

So, the timing is far from inconvenient.

It's possibly predictable where the first strikes will be by watching the movements of the terrorists in the country.

Someone will be feeding them information about where to move in and mop up after the airforce has been and gone.

This whole scenario is nuts, pure and simple. I have very little to say in particular, but in general: by design, we do not have sufficient reliable and relevant information upon which to formulate defensible hypotheses, let alone draw conclusions. They keep us in the dark, and feed us you know what. We are chasing our tails while they manipulate outcomes. More or less.

Has anyone yet proposed forming some sort of prayer circle or a designated period of time to focus energy on peace in light of this escalation in Syria? I'm not sure a lot of "normies" understand what's at stake here. The MSM is more focused on sex scandals and raids than a potential world war.

Default Re: Syria war: At least 70 killed in suspected [alleged] chemical attack in Douma

The timing of the current escalation may be related to events in East Ghouta, which was a stronghold for rebels against the Syrian government. This rebel enclave was recently surrounded and taken by Syrian and Russian forces (around the middle of March), with the rebels allowed to leave with their families (the same process as has been executed at other sites in Syria when local rebel groups have been surrounded and then subsequently negotiations have taken place).

There are some reports that this rebel stronghold included special forces of from the UK and US and that some of these have been captured. Vanessa Bealey’s reports (posted in the thread above) also talk about the capture of some special ops types in Eastern Ghouta.

It is speculated that the timing of the Skripal affair was due to the UK government’s inability to get Russia to agree to intervene and secure the release of these special ops forces.

Here is a video of a broadcast on Russian radio where the Middle East analyst reports on Chinese intelligence reports covering this. It’s fairly specific in the details it outlines and is in Russian with subtitles. It is serious and dry in tone.

And here is some content from the website that did the translation and subtitling:

Default Re: Syria war: At least 70 killed in suspected [alleged] chemical attack in Douma

And here is another view, which potentially might tie the current military escalation to some kind of plot / machinations against Trump.... as a strategy to get him to take some kind of action to be used as cause for his impeachment. I don’t know US politics well enough to know whether this is possible or not, but the speculation is interesting....

Particularly interesting is the part about the Obama administration having considered this with regards to their actions in Syria. Who knows: if this is indeed another snare to entrap the Trump administration, maybe that’s where the idea came from?

    Quote Attacking Syria “Impeachable”

    FRANCIS BOYLE, fboyle at illinois.edu

Boyle is professor of international law at the University of Illinois College of Law. He said today: “Any U.S. attack targeting the Syrian government or its forces would clearly violate both U.S. and international law. When Obama was in a similar position in 2013 (http://www.accuracy.org/release/key-...a-impeachment/), his advisor Ben Rhodes [see below] has since commented that they turned back largely because they were afraid of impeachment. That fear is well founded. While the prospect of impeaching Trump is thrown around frequently for partisan purposes, on this issue, the constitution is clear: Initiating a war or any such attack without authorization is clearly impeachable.

“Last year, at the National Press Club, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., claimed (https://www.c-span.org/video/?c4674160/dunford-question) the authority to target the Syrian government stemmed from the 2001 Authorization for the Use of Military Force. Gen. Dunford was totally incorrect (http://www.accuracy.org/release/repe...-illegal-wars/). The AUMF passed after 9/11 has indeed been used to justify the bombing campaign purporting to target ISIS, but it cannot possibly be used to justify targeting the Syrian government.

“Excuses of ‘humanitarian intervention’ have no basis in international law and in these circumstances are transparently hollow. Israel apparently just attacked Syria (illegal) from Lebanese airspace (also illegal). Israel itself just openly admitted that it is killing Palestinian civilian protesters — part of a decades-long brazenly illegal policy. The U.S. representative to the UN, Nikki Haley, prevented even an inquiry by the UN into the matter. There’s no evidence of any humanitarian concern here, simply a search for pretexts to pursue geopolitical goals which may well include carving up Syria (http://www.accuracy.org/release/bomb...-up-agenda/).”

Boyle’s books include Foundations of World Order (Duke University Press).

In 2017, Ben Rhodes, Obama’s Deputy National Security Advisor, and foreign policy speechwriter, told Politico that President Obama feared impeachment if he targeted the Syrian government (https://www.politico.com/magazine/st...-iran-214642):

Rhodes: “The only country in the world that was prepared to join us [in attacking the Assad government] was France. And we had no domestic legal basis. We actually had Congress warning us against taking action without congressional authorization, which we interpreted as the president could face impeachment.”

Politico: “Really? Was the prospect of impeachment actually a factor in your conversations?”

Rhodes: “That was a factor. Go back and read the letters from Boehner, letters from the Republican members of Congress. They laid down markers that this would not be constitutional.”

House Speaker John Boehner wrote to Obama in 2013 (https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/...3832374.html): “It is essential you address on what basis any use of force would be legally justified and how the justification comports with the exclusive authority of Congressional authorization under Article I of the Constitution.”

What we seem to be going through is a repeat of run up to Iraq intervention though without invasion.

As said else where every country seems to go through civil war as part of its evolution.
The only problem is that now other countries, self declared policemen, join in and escalate the the situation.

The English civil war was violent enough ( Oliver Cromwell times) but there was no outside agency with cruise missiles wanting to blow England into a peaceful resolution.
Im suggesting that we should mind our own business and let other countries get on with it, its their stuff so to speak.

My opinion is just that and may well change tomorrow.

Another perspective from Jake Morphonios, here, and consistent with the reporting from Vanessa Beeley at different times over at least the last three years.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EVIDENCE OF STAGED BODIES IN DOUMA

    https://www.blackstoneintel.com/blog...odies-in-douma

The al-Qaeda affiliate group, Jaish al-Islam, has admitted to using chlorine gas to massacre dozens of people in Aleppo. This same group killed civilians in Douma. Together with the fake humanitarian group, the White Helmets (which has been caught staging death scenes/videos in the past), Jaish terrorists took the dead bodies of children and staged the bodies in multiple locations to create propaganda photos/video to shock and outrage the public - and to frame President Bashar al Assad and the Syrian military for the crime.

These photos are evidence that the "chemical attack" being blamed on the Assad government to justify western military invasion is not what it seems.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, from his latest update feed shared on Bill's very important 2014 thread as well.

UPDATE 5:45 PM EST: Evidence that White House approved chemical weapon false flag op in Syria in 2013 to blame Assad:
“If a man does not keep pace with [fall into line with] his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” - Thoreau
