    Yes.

In the same theme, here's Tyler Bradt kayaking over a 189 ft (57.6m) waterfall. Nine years later, this is still the world record, which some argue is unlikely to be broken by anyone who survives.

It’d be interesting to know if the Annunaki designed a specific gene to be turned on that gives these guys their kamikaze tendencies.

I got a laugh out of the first video where at the end it says:
‘Andrew Cotton earned the Wipeout of the Year award after his incapacitating fall in Nazare, Portugal, last year. The U.K. surfer wasn’t able to pick up his award since he is still recovering from the broken vertebrae he suffered as a result of his wipeout.’

It’s not really funny, but geez, amazing these guys even survive…. their poor mothers, lol. Keep 'em coming guys, nice reprieve to watch videos of the impossible!

I almost posted this in the Beauty and the Pain of being Human thread, lol.

And (I'm not trying to hijack the thread! ) extreme rock climber Alex Honnold solo free climbed Yosemite's 3,000 ft El Capitan in 2017... no ropes, no equipment, no nothing. Just himself and his lightweight rubber rock shoes.

Highly experienced fellow climbers described his feat as 'inhuman', 'unthinkable', 'incomprehensible', and 'beyond words'. No-one had thought for a moment it could ever be done.

He'd featured on CBS's 60 Minutes six years earlier, in 2011, when he did a long free solo rock climb several orders of magnitude easier... just for the TV cameras. But that, too, had never been done before. ('Easier' is relative!) And watching that is more than terrifying enough.

I can't link from this device but there is an incredible video of wing suited jumpers 'threading the needle' in the mountains of Europe somewhere. It's jaw dropping. We-R-One, if you could find it and link I would be grateful!😀

I have to say that from my point of view, free rock climbing is by very far the most difficult thing.
From what I remember, in general women are supposed to be better at this as their finger strength to body ratio is supposed to be higher than for men.

It's called a large set of testies( excuse the expression) for all of the above and a touch of insanity. But after all when were in our 20's we are going to live forever aren't we. Had I known about this race in my 20's I would have rode this , The Isle of Man TT has been happening every year for over 100 years, over 200 riders have not made it thru this race over the years, there is no speed limit. only the challenge of you, your bike, and the execution of taking on the course knowing there is no margin of error. Watch this , you won't be bored!

I find it fascinating and remarkable the human capacity to literally dice with death, just for a rush of pleasure, or pride. It maybe goes far deeper than that. I cannot know, being wired another way.

Whatever the case, humans are remarkable creatures. If we ever get off this rock, just imagine the potential of extreme sports in a low-gravity environment. I have no doubt there will be many creative, possibly extraordinary examples.

I think this guy is a little nuts. Lucky there were no potholes.

That guy is just something else. He has that far away look in his eyes that seems to not care one way nor the other. Statistically he ought be dead. He first came to my attention through one of his urban ascents in San Francisco's financial district. Apparently the protruding brickwork he is climbing on are not bricks at all, but are actually tiles on this 100+ year old building. Watch with incredulity as he makes his way to the top. If you can.

Got to give nothing but respect to Alex Honnalds climbing. He is fascinating to watch. So here's a snowmobile somewhere in Europe, guys climbing the mountain but his accent up is as impressive as his down lol. I've definitely been blessed to have rode the mountains of snow in Montana, Wyoming and Idaho for 16 years in a row, 10,000 elevations, nothing but powder riding , just like riding in a bed of pillows. And I will tell you on a sunny day sitting at 10,000 ft looking 100 miles in any direction is a true gift from our creator. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbn5rQVKj1Y Really enjoying the videos , keep them coming Avalon family! Thanks for starting this post we-r-one.

In my younger years I was an avid hiker. My first big attempt was the Flat Irons in Boulder, CO. I was 16....it took me a few hours to get to the top, and then I crossed over the road for a view of a lifetime...it was the Continental Divide as far as the eye could see. As I watched the storms blow in over The Divide, it was here I read my first spiritual book titled, "The Theory of Eternal Life" encompassing the topic of reincarnation which is pretty ironic considering the path of discovery I've taken up to this point. I spent the entire day there sitting on a rock reading front to cover till finished, so I know what you mean by 'true gift from our creator', it's a day I've never forgotten, it's like a runner's high. And while I've had many hikes since, the next 'true gift' came when I hiked up the Mt. Hood Tilly Jane/Cooper Spur Trail outside of Portland, OR. It just about kicked my a$$, but I was still young enough to take it and we made it to about 8500 ft as far as you can go till ice picks were needed. It's a grueling hike, 2800' incline of switchback trails if I remember right, but well worth it. Elliot Glacier was right off to the side and it felt like we were on top of the world. Amazing views combined with a sense of accomplishment. There's no way I could do it now.

That's about as 'extreme' as I'll ever get, however, with proper prodding, I could be swayed to be bush plane dropped into the Idaho back country of Frank Church Wilderness, something I've always wanted to do, but not by myself...thanks a lot David Paulides/Missing411, lmao.

Glad you're liking this thread, I am too....it's nice to get away from the true crazies of the world by watching some fun isn't it? Thanks you guys!

That guy is just something else. He has that far away look in his eyes that seems to not care one way nor the other.
I think you could be right. At first, I thought this guy must have balls - excuse the phrase - made of iron. Now I'm not so sure. You have to know fear first in order to be brave. But he seems fearless. Which is interesting, if correct. Because that means he may lack what is a vital survival mechanism. It's debatable whether that serves as an advantage or a handicap. I do hope it's the former, and he lives a long happy life!
