    Someone mentioned Ovex to me years ago. Not sure if it's a variant of Albendazole. Nothing intrinsically wrong with pharmaceuticals if you know how to use them. Pharmacology is just the art of isolating specific ingredients. We have pharamacists to thank for Iodine, Vit C, Magnesium etc...

    https://patient.info/medicine/mebendazole-vermox-ovex

    I recently found MIYAIRI, a widely available, inexpensive probiotic.

    P.S. that 'feeling of dying' can dissapear after using Vit C, turpentine or Iodine. IMO it's just the body crying out for basic nutrition.

    All right, If one is certain that it is "TapeWorm" (there are numerous variants of it), there is a particular anthelmintic called Praziquantel.

    It has activity against schistosomes, cestodes and their larval forms, but not nematodes. Tapeworms are "cestodes".

    Quote Cestoda (formerly Cestoidea) is a class of parasitic worms of the flatworm (Platyhelminthes) phylum. They are informally referred to as cestodes. The best-known species, all in the Eucestoda, are ribbonlike, their adult bodies consisting of many similar proglottids, and are commonly called tapeworms.
    Praziquantel acts by causing leakage of intracellular calcium from the cell membranes of parasites producing contracture and paralysis. The paralyzed tapeworms are dislodged from the attached intestinal mucosa and are expelled from the intestine. Flukes and schistosomes are also cleared in tissues and veins.

    Common side-effects
    • appetite loss,
    • dizziness,
    • drowsiness,
    • headache,
    • malaise,
    • abdominal pain,
    • nausea,
    • vomiting and
    • diaphoresis.

    Undesirable effects are usually transitory and rarely of clinical importance.

    Here are some images: - see if this looks like what you pulled out

    However, there are a MULTITUDE OF TAPEWORM species.

    Where one caught the infection from is important, as well as proper continual hygiene during the elimination phases.

    That means clean undergarments daily, clean bed sheets daily. Identifying if one's pet(s) have a tapeworm infection is important.

    Did one come in contact with the worm eggs while walking barefoot? (Sometimes grounding that way isn't healthy at all in situations where animals have defecated).

    Did one eat undercooked beef? (a common cause of tapeworms conveyed from eating beef flesh). How about pork? Undercooked meats can be a source of said infection. Also eating veggies which have been fertilized with infected animal feces. The eggs don't easily wash off and aren't easily disabled by common washes such as hydrogen peroxide rinse..

    However, praziquantel does not kill hydatid tapeworm cysts.

    Benzimidazole drugs (Mebendazole, Fenbendazole and so on):
    Many types of benzimidazole drugs have been studied in order to assess their effects against tapeworms.

    Most of them show good activity against Taenia species and some even show good activity against Echinococcus species, but none of them are any good for treating species Dipylidium Tapeworm.

    Worming one's pet(s). Chances are good, one can catch the tapeworm infection from the pet if the pet has said worms. So not having the pet checked for worms, and properly treating could very well lead to re-infection and a miserable life for the pet.

    Be aware of the risk of animal feces entering the food chain - people should not let their dogs or cats have access to garden vegetable patches. The animals can defecate in the garden, resulting in hydatid eggs dropping onto the plants that the human is intending to consume.

    Be extra-hygienic if handling dog feces - wear gloves to pick up droppings and wash your hands well afterwards.

    http://www.pet-informed-veterinary-a...m/hydatid.html

    As Albendazole has been mentioned as a phamacological solution, its effectiveness on a specific form of tapeworm infection would be good: Taenia species is treatable with Albendazole.

    If one doesn't have that species of tapeworm infection then Albendazole may NOT be the correct anthelmintic to use.

    That is why a PROPER identification is needed for the corrected treatment. Albendazole could be good for the BEEF or PORK tapeworms in other words.. Taenia falls within that group.

    https://www.emedicinehealth.com/drug...article_em.htm - see this link to understand the indications, contraindications, and side-effects.

    One of the biggest issue to deal with is internal system toxic reactions happening due to dead or dying worms, allergic reactions..

    How was it caught? Coming in contact with, ingesting, cysts of the worms - go through this list carefully

    Species of parasitic Taenia tapeworms important to human and animal medicine include:
    • Taenia saginata (known as 'the beef tapeworm') - the adult form of the tapeworm resides in the human intestine (technically making it as much a human tapeworm as a 'beef' or cattle tapeworm) and the juvenile stage of the tapeworm (the stage of the tapeworm life cycle contagious to humans) resides in the muscles or meat of cattle (and to a lesser extent buffalos, llamas, giraffes, sheep, goats and certain deer species);
    • Taenia solium (the pork tapeworm) - a very dangerous tapeworm species whose adult form resides in the human gut and whose lethal juvenile or larval form resides in the muscles and organs of pigs and people (this page contains loads of information on the dangerous Taenia solium pork tapeworm so read on);
    • Taenia pisiformis - a canine tapeworm whose larval form is carried by rabbits and hares;
    • Taenia ovis - a canine tapeworm whose larval form is carried in the muscles and hearts of sheep;
    • Taenia taeniaeformis - a tapeworm in cats whose larval form is carried by rodents such as rats, muskrats and voles;
    • Taenia hydatigena - a canine tapeworm whose larval form is carried by sheep, goats, pigs, cattle, deer and wild livestock ungulates;
    • Taenia multiceps - a canid (dog and dog-related species) tapeworm whose larval form is generally carried in the brains of sheep and goats (occasionally horses, rabbits and cattle);
    • Taenia crassiceps - a tapeworm of foxes or dogs whose juvenile stages are generally carried by rodent animals;
    • Taenia serialis - a fox and dog tapeworm carried by rabbits, hares or rodents.
    • Taenia brauni - a fox and dog tapeworm carried by gerbils.

    If one has been exposed to one (or more) of the above, then that animal also needs to be treated for the worm infection. It could be more than one type of "tapeworm" - as was pointed out in an earlier post the question was where (how), and what else may be present (a concomitant infection) - such infections ARE common with parasite infestation..

    If one has eaten contaminated food, one should look at the source of the food ingested and change to a different source. Simple washing is not guaranteed to remove the cysts from contaminated foodstuff.

    It is not a simple take some garlic and expect it all to correct in other words.
    • Identification - What is it specifically.
    • Treatment of the parasitic infection - what drug(s) to use for how long, what dose schedule and how often.
    • Treatment of the side-effects (toxic reactions?) allergies, compromised immune system
    • Identification of any concomitant disease

    Be prepared for the LONG HAUL. Active worms are treatable rapidly, the cysts tho (eggs) require additional treatment potentially with a different anthelmintic. One trained in dealing with the specific parasite successfully is it seems to me good advice. Find that specialist who can help seems like a good point to make it seems to me.

    Getting face/mouth licked by fido - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ace-again.html

    If it looks like spaghetti coming out the back end..
    ‘Roundworm look like cooked spaghetti and are probably the most common intestinal parasite in dogs,’ says Vicki Larkham, a vet with the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals.

    Note the Echinococcus tapeworm warning:

    Meaning their eggs are left intact, and will at a later date emerge and start the infection cycle once again. Echinococcus cysts can lodge in the liver (and create a large mass).

    Quote One potentially deadly species called echinococcus is putting people at risk in hotspots in Wales, the Welsh borders and the Western Isles.

    After dogs eat echinococcus eggs in infected animal carcasses, the worms grow to adulthood in their guts and shed eggs in dog faeces. Dogs spread the eggs to people by licking their faces after cleaning themselves.

    In people the tapeworm causes cysts on the liver, lungs or brain, which can grow 12 in across and cause organ failure and even death.

    It can take years after infection for symptoms to show.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ace-again.html

    If it is a parasite which is going to "egg stage" there can be masses appearing in a fixed location - the tapeworm causes cysts on the liver, lungs or brain, which can grow 12 in across and cause organ failure and even death.

    As Flash pointed out, to get these things handled vigorously and completely, including the egg cyst stage makes good sense. This parasite stuff is nothing to treat lightly. Ok? But get the proper diagnosis. (The doc that said some type of lypoma, (or maybe lymphoma), maybe go back and say what about worm cysts...)

    Alternating treatment regimen (such is used sometimes with horses' deworming, one anthelmintic for dealing with the active worm, the other for the cysts) - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4015571/

    After some careful consideration, I decided I'll go the pill route. Tapeworms are just something you do not want to mess with, and I don't feel that, at this stage, I have the luxury to experiment with natural methods. I already fear for my liver.

    I'll look into the Albendazole and Praziquantel. Not sure that I'll be able to find it here in the States, where there's a major operation to keep people sick and easy cures out of reach, but I'll get it, somehow.

    I also have a doctor's appointment in a couple of weeks (soonest I could get it).

    Once it's out of me, I'll be using a lot of the natural methods in this thread as a form of maintenance/preventative care.

    Thanks for all of the help, everyone!

    Can you enlighten us where it was picked up from you think? I pointed out in post 22 some potential sources. Such may help folks to understand more about the dangers of parasite infections, now. There is a lot of eating of "raw meat" and eating of home grown outside veggies these days..

    Both the anthelmintics are available easily in the States. No worries there.. Getting the proper diagnosis and dealing with what damage, if any, caused by cysts I think is essential. The cysts need to be addressed properly and for the right length of time, with the right anthelmintic.

    This link discusses the alternating and synergistic treatment regimen of the two anthelmintics - https://www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=1602094#i: and discusses the issues with dealing with the cysts. Please take a look to see what that person observed. I found that thread enlightening.

    I think I got it when eating sushi. I don't eat sushi all the time, but probably about quarterly.

    Maybe also from red meat. I like my steak medium rare.

    There are lots of ways I could have gotten it beyond that. Contaminated water after nasty floods a year or so back, improperly rinsed salad...who knows

    Bob,

    You write a lot of informed things here.
    I was forced to read the lot myself.

    Your point on good diagnostics is fair. I agree.

    The challenge lies in getting the doctors engaged in getting there.
    There is the big challenge, if the first tests don't give away the uninvited guests.

    The Curezone site was totally correct:
    You will go from hospital to hospital, with all of the doctors waiving you to the next one. You will get no traction for your pleas to look and listen, until you end up at Curezone reading you are not alone.
    That became my story, too.
    "You are looking for the Loch Ness monster, it is difficult" said the one doctor who understood me, but could do not more than he did.
    Indigris' story, and symptoms, is and are like mine. Though, hers ( or his?) road to 'The Diagnose' is maybe just beginning.

    Look at the doctors face while you tell them small bugs are coming out from under your eyelids, and just wait for the question if a trip to the psychology ward would be a good next step. LOL ( kind of...)
    I wish for you a rapid positive progression!

    Maybe someone has a golden tip to some clinic who knows what they are doing parasite diagnosing-wise?

    Love, O.

    Dogged, presistent, composed of many segments... cut my head off in one thread, and I appear anew in another.... am I a type of tapeworm? It makes sense to go the pharmaceutical route from time to time. But I think not taking natural remedies til after taking the anti-worm pill is a small mistake. Health is about solid fundamentals. Vit C cleans the bowels and supports immunity. It would be a good way to minimize pharmaceutical side effects. If anyone is sick, exercise and healthy eating is non-negotiable, otherwise the issue will return.

    In Canada we have laws that define the way sushi must be prepared. It's actually illegal to use fresh fish for Sushi (with a few exceptions for a few tuna and albacore species that do not carry parasites that harm humans), it must be deep frozen (<-20C for at least 7 days, or -35C for 15 hours) to kill potential parasites. Not sure about other countries /areas, but I assume there must be something along these lines in most places?

    That said, there's no promises; rare / raw beef and sushi will always carry some risk. And it is said that whether you notice it or not, pretty much everyone will have intestinal worms at some point in their life. Most eventually get addressed by the body's immune system, but of course not all.

    Then there was the guy a couple years back who landed in a Calgary hospital with stomach pains - he figured buying fresh raw salmon for his homemade sashimi at Superstore (loblaws - big box store in Canada) was good enough. It only took one day for him to figure out what a bad idea that was though ...

    Hey, RunningDeer. I hope you're doing well

    Thanks for checking back in.

    I went to the doc about 2 weeks ago. With the totality of my other symptoms, she was quite worried something was profoundly wrong with me. We're currently trying to rule out any potential underlying illnesses, since my issues are abnormal for someone my age. Granted, I've got a toxic lifestyle (that I'm working on) and a bit of an issue with soda, so I'm sure those poisons are finally taking their toll.

    She made me do loads and loads of bloodwork, and the results should be in soon, and I've got to go into my local lab and give a stool sample for the official diagnosis.

    I've not had time to go up until now, but I will be going on Monday morning. She agrees I have a tapeworm, though, given the symptoms I have, and what I've been finding in the toilet.

    I tried the raw garlic, pumpkin seeds, even some DE. None worked. I have been passing more...evidence as of late, though, so who knows. Maybe it's doing something. I know she's still in there, though (I decided to give it a name and gender--her name is Stacey. No offense to the Staceys out there).

    I'll update this post in a couple of weeks, once the official diagnosis comes in, as well as during treatment, and the months that follow it.

    I've got a feeling Stacey is the root cause of a lot of the issues that have been robbing me of my energy and youth, and I can't wait to be rid of her.

    @Indigis

    I'm certaily no expert on this subject but I figure if you have a 'host' feeding on your life's energies just deprive the host of its life source: do fasting for awhile and it will die and go away on its own-

    I wish you great health and a speedy recovery!

    Indigris,
    Garlic, pumpkin seeds, DE are good addons, but they can't do the heavy cleanup on their own. As someone suggested in a previous post, use turpentine. Get the clean stuff (Diamond G or equivalent). In a 100ml glass bottle fill it half turp / half castor oil or olive oil. Take 1 teasp before bed (at least 2hr after food), chase it with water (taste is not great); do this for 2 to 3 weeks. You can keep taking garlic, pumpkin seeds, even papaya seeds during the day.

    Hi Indigris, I'm glad to hear you'll be getting all that work done! I keep thinking about that tape worm too. I can certainly relate to not wanting stuff in me, and I wonder if you'll need to drive it out or take it out by force.

    (I decided to give it a name and gender--her name her name is Stacey. No offense to the Staceys out there).
    Oh no lol. Stacey the worm...

    I'm glad you didn't pick my name lol. I hope no one names their worm after me ;-)

    I'd name mine Slimy, or maybe Wiggly.

    See your doctor.The treatment is simple and safe and effective. It might be a good idea to take a specimen to confirm the diagnosis

    So the results came back today. Surprise, surprise, they all came back negative. Can't say I'm shocked, as I've learned to lower my expectations way down when dealing with doctors and treatment here in the US, but I'm still annoyed. Call me obstinate, but I know I have something wonky going on. When you pull something 2-3 inches of something flat and dead out of yourself, that's pretty much a confirmation.

    I've got a follow-up appointment, but unfortunately, the earliest they could see me is the 27th, so the wait continues. I may switch doctors altogether, though.

    I've decided I will kill this thing with or without professional medical help if I need to. At this point, between doctor appointments and testing, it's cost me about $700 (which I have yet to fully pay), so I'm nearing my breaking point in terms of patience and compliance with clinical standards here.

    I'll see if I can get my hands on Albendazole without a prescription (doubt it), but in the meantime, I'll be eating a lot of walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and DE.

    I'll continue to update (very slowly!) as this goes on, until it's done. Expect this thread to last awhile and go into great detail. Hopefully, someday, someone else can read it and glean help from it.

    Thank you once again to everyone who's pitched in. Your support is much appreciated

    I wonder if aggressive fasting would work... it really does cure so many things... deep autophagy.

    All that means is that they didn't find what they were testing for (which is quite likely to be something specific).

    What's going on may well something they didn't test for. The results certainly don't unarguably mean that you're totally healthy.
