Thanks again Foxie. It is an honour to able to share my travels with you all especially when it is appreciated by kindered souls such as yourself.

I do actually have a take on the "churning of the ocean of milk". But I think that has to be another thread as it tells the story of the evolution of earth and humanity at a time of a great catastrophic event that virtually shook mother earth and wiped out great civilizations at that time. Think of lost Atlantis and Lemuria, mountains rising and land masses sinking and the people at the time witnessing churning oceans around the world, the oceans were foaming white due to the violence of the event.
Whether the event was cosmic and involved dysfunctional so called god's interfering with the great cosmic ocean, our milky way because they feared death and searched for the eternal life force, or it was caused by advanced humans who basically got to big for their boots when they attempted to act like god's by interfering with universal natural laws with catastrophic results, or if it was natural local earthly event ? I am not sure.
But I do think the Vedic "churning of the ocean of milk" story is describing a catastrophic event that changed life on earth. I also think we are at the same point in our time.
I pray we make the correct choices that are for the betterment of all humanity this time and not choices that a small group of pychopaths who believe their choices benefit them alone. The cycle continues, time for us to change the cycles of time by using our minds as tools of expressions of our universal consciousness. This time I believe we have to churn the ocean of consciousness of humility.
Let's stir it up little darlings

Tomorrow I am heading away for a few days but will continue with Ellora and Ajanta when I return.
I will share why I believe that the people who carved out the temples were very capable of carrying out the majority of the work with hammer and chisels. I say majority of the work, some of the work is still an unexplained mystery.

Hi again. Before I continue with why I think the builders at the time were very capable of carving out the cave temples using simple tools, there is another important story to be told when the Mogahl king Aurangzeb attempted to destroy the Kailasa Temple and surrounding cave temples but failed.

Quote Mugahl King Aurangzeb who destroyed thousands of Hindu temple, also tried to destroy Kailasa temple. In 1682, he ordered that that the temple be destroyed, so that there would be no trace of it. Records show that a 1000 people worked for 3 years, and they could only do a very minimal damage. They could break and disfigure a few statues, but they realized it is just not possible to completely destroy this temple. Aurangzeb finally gave up on this impossible task.

I was aware of this part of history when I was there and thought that they did not try very hard, although you can see the damage caused there was obvious structure's and carvings that were not destroyed that could have been destroyed. A thousand men for three years, I don't think so.
    All easily destroyed but not.

My personal take is that those sent did not want to destroy the temples. Maybe through respect for the amazing workmanship or the fear of karmic repercussions.
I thought of Cromwell and his army heading north into Scotland destroying and looting catholic churches and Abbey's burning them to the ground, but when he arrived at Roslyn Chapel he ordered for it not to be destroyed because of its magnificence. Instead they used it as stables for the horses.
I felt when I was there that something similar happened at Ellora.

What a wonderful post to wake up to, Billy! Thank you so much! This is totally amazing! I wonder how they did carve from the top down like that?! Reminds me of the churches of Lalebella in Africa. Seems to have been the same type of workmanship?

Didn't realize Cromwell had spared Roslyn Chapel....interesting! Look forward to more of your postings!

Yes: it's interesting to read about, though the recorded history is a little thin. Most agree that Cromwell spared the chapel [also] because he was a Mason and understood its significance. If any Avalonians ever visit Edinburgh on their travels, Rosslyn is a slam-dunk must-see.

It wasn't until I reached Ajanta after my first visit to Elorra that I found unfinished temple caves. Most of the temples were commissioned by royalty to be built on their behalf, and for reasons of wars or just could not afford to carry on, the work was never completed.
It is those unfinished temples that gave me the understanding that the builders were more than capable of undertaking such a huge task. I am a carpenter/ builder since I left collage at 16yrs old, I have worked on castles, churches and very old mansions with skilled stonemasons. So I do have some insight.
Some pictures of unfinished temple floors. Sorry for some poor quality photos.

You can see where they cut channels into the floors then break away the remaining stone between the channels down to the finished floor level.

Chisel marks made by hammers everywhere you look.

They cut into a room on either side leaving a wall, then they cut out a small hole then extend it to leave a rough pillar.
The finished pillar all polished smoothly and carved with great precision.

Yes Foxie, I came to the conclusion that us mere mortals were more than capable of building such amazing structure's.
The amazing single carved rock Kailash Temple stands out on it's own amongst all the other temple caves. But the system used of cutting channels out is the same but on a much grander scale.
Cutting into the hillside two channels then joining them together with a 90% channel at the rear to connect them together. Leaving a huge single block of stone standing on its own that can then be carved from the top down, I think the temple builders at the time were more than capable of this huge task.

The amazing thing that stands out to me is the preparation before the precise work had even began. The design, the architect's who must have drawn the plans. Maybe even built a miniature 3D model beforehand as there was no room for any mistakes when measuring out the site and how to carve the structure afterwards. Every small detail was precisely planned before hand. Which is a great credit to the architect's and builders of the time.
There are still some mysteries. Where did the 400.000 tons of stone go that was cut out ?
But while I was there and climbed up above the temple enjoying the surrounding landscape, I did think that it was possible that the cut out stone may be hidden in plain sight in the form of a hill not far away.

The cut out stone would have been very small pieces. So maybe they used it for road building.

This is the holy Mount Kailash/Kailas in Tibet. The home of Lord Shiva that the Kailash Temple at Ellora was built to represent.

And a very interesting video that I found when researching Mount Kailash when I was in India.
Please do watch, as this guy may have discovered something quite special.

If they are not huge carvings of statue's, there are definitely caves and what looks like carved doorways cut into the mountain at the bottom of what the video maker believes are statue's. Watch the video in full size, Pause the video and have a close look.

Looking for something else, I ran into this:

Temple of Vettuvan Koil in Tamil Nadu, India

    Miracles of Afghanistan

    Lalibella, Ethiopia

Madain Saleh (Mada’in Saleh), dating from the 1st century BC to the 1st century AD. With its 111 monumental tombs, 94 of which are decorated, and water wells, the site is an outstanding example of the Nabataeans' culture

... then, not long ago, with a single handed determination and a little help from compressed air and Nobel's invention:

While we are at it, let us not forget Petra in Jordan. Another one that has been on my bucket list to visit for many years now.

And finally my next visit to another ancient site will be to Malta to visit the Hal Safliena underground Hypogeum in a few weeks time. I was last there 25 yrs ago visiting many ancient sites but knew nothing about the Hypogeum at that time and always wanted to return. I had to book my entrance ticket more than a year ago as their calendar was fully booked months in advance.
This place is on 3 levels and renowned for the incredible acustics. Hopefully I will be allowed to do some overtoning into the oracle that resonates throughout all levels of the Hypogeum.

Thanks so much Billy, this is astounding, such detailed work from the very substance of the rock - it is very difficult to believe people toiled with basic tools to produce this, imagine the intensity of their faith, the commitment.
    A very valuable share!

Just to update everyone. I have now had my amazing visit to the Hypogeum and many other ancient sites in Malta and Gozo, I arrived back home a few days ago. I will be sharing this experience in a new thread as soon I reflect and come back down to earth.

A couple of photos as a teaser.

There was no cameras, phones or tablets allowed inside the Hypogeum. This place was incredible. Built on three levels all underground. The acustics within this structure were out of this world.

Oh, boy!!! Here we go! Thanks, Billy!

My mind keeps going back to the photo of what looks like a mountain, but up close one sees it is huge carvings!

In Malta, do you get the sense it is much...much older than we think?

Get rested up, then let us have it!

This is the world famous Kailasa temple at Ellora and let's look objectively into who could have built this amazing structure. By the end of this video, I hope you will agree with me that our history is completely wrong, and that this temple was built by a very advanced civilization.

What is so special about this temple? This temple was not constructed by adding stone blocks, but an entire mountain was carved to create this temple. This is the only example in the whole world where a mountain was cut out from the top, to create a structure. In all the other temples and caves, even in Ellora and the rest of the world, the rock was cut from the front and carved as they went along. The whole world has followed a rock cutting technique called "cut-in monolith" while Kailasa temple is the only one that has used the exact opposite technique called "cut-out monolith".

To see why this rock cutting technique is so different, let's take a look at this pillar that is over 100 feet tall. See how small human beings look when compared to this pillar. Normally, to create such a huge pillar, it would take years of work, carving accurately on the huge rock. But this pillar was carved by scooping out all the pieces of mountain around it. You can imagine the amount of rock, which has been removed to create this pillar.

Historians and archaeologists are confused because of the sheer amount of rock that was removed in this temple. Archaeologists confirm that over 400,000 tons of rock had to be scooped out, which would have taken not years, but centuries of human labor. Historians have no record of such a monstrous task and they think that it was built in less than 18 years.

Let us do a simple math and see if historians could be right. I am going to assume that people worked every day for 18 years and for 12 hours straight with no breaks at all. I am going to ignore rainy days, festivals, war time and assume that people worked like robots ceaselessly. I am also going to ignore the time taken to create intricate carvings and complex engineering design and planning and just focus on the removal of rock.

If 400,000 tons of rock were removed in 18 years, 22,222 tons of rock had to be removed every year. This means that 60 tons of rock was removed every day, which gives us 5 tons of rock removed every hour. I think we can all agree, that is not even possible today to remove 5 tons of rock from a mountain, every hour. Not even with all the so called advanced machines that we have. So, if it is not humanly possible, was it done by humans at all? Was this created with the help of extraterrestrial intelligence?

Now, forget about creating such an extraordinary structure. Can human beings at least destroy this temple? In fact, Aurangzeb a Muslim king employed a thousand workers to completely demolish this temple. In 1682, he ordered that that the temple be destroyed, so that there would be no trace of it. Records show that a 1000 people worked for 3 years, and they could only do a very minimal damage. They could break and disfigure a few statues here and there, but they realized it is just not possible to completely destroy this temple. Aurangzeb finally gave up on this impossible task.

Note that this attempted destruction is very similar to another mysterious structure called The Menkaure's pyramid in Egypt. Another Muslim ruler wanted all the pyramids to be destroyed, and started his work from the Menkaure's pyramid. After years of trying, he was only able to make a small dent on the pyramid. He gave up too. Were all these indestructible structures around the world created by extraterrestrials? Is that why human beings are not even able to destroy them?

In fact, archaeologists agree that Kailasa temple was created before any other temple in the Ellora cave complex. Could this have been built centuries before human beings started carving other temples nearby? Is this why the architecture, the design, and the size is so much better and bigger than other temples? If it was built by humans, it is logical to expect that the rock cutting techniques and design would become better over time. People would gain more experience and knowledge and make better structures in the future. However, the Kailasa temple is the oldest and the biggest temple carved with engineering perfection.

Unlike other temples, the Kailasa is the only temple that is visible from the air. Out of 34 temples, all carved side by side, Kailasa stands out and you can see it while flying over it. Is this just a coincidence? Or was it designed for people to see it from the air, like Nazca lines of Peru?

This one really is unique--its beyond understanding.
There are many amazing stone works "built" by those who came before but to carve out of solid rock from the top down beggars belief.
There is no way that the cleverest of this land could do this today.
    Pas the Lego.
