    Default Time to cancel Netflix?

If you're not into comic books or young people with super powers, war and terrorism, drugs and depravity, homosexuality, bad Asian movies, bad stand-up comedy, crime scene soap operas in hushed tones, and various low-budget straight-to-video movies, is there anything left on Netflix?

I've been through all the Black Mirror, Blue Bloods, Madam Secretary, Star Trek, Twilight Zone, Cheers, Friends, Fraser and the few other classic shows worth watching, and I'm thinking it's maybe time to just drop the service. There might be a few Rock & Roll documentaries to watch...

    Anyone else feel the same?

You're not alone TomKat - I cancelled them (and for additional reasons, Susan Rice is on their board of Directors & NETFLIX is receiving substantial funding by George Soros).

(Besides that, anything worth watching - aka your list, can be seen ... *cough* "elsewhere" for freeeeeee?)

If I had Netflix, I would cancel it.

Someone offered to share their Netflix with me, but I didn't find much of interest when I looked it over anyway.

I expect mass exodus from those with principles.

I used to rent dvds of tv shows and movies at the local video store (Blockbuster or Rogers here in Canada). After all the stores closed up for good, I discovered torrents and never looked back.

If you get the application Internet Download Manager, you can get movies from sites like 123movies dot net and others like it. You don't have to watch communist indoctrination as served out by TPTB.

LOL - I'm not sayin' a thing, Dave! *cough cough* (Long Live Pirate Bay & VUZE! - and lotsa Back up drives!)

@ chris_walker - 123movies is great, too, as is Internet Download Manager (and fast!) - but make sure you have really good virus protection (haven't had that problem from either (yet... touch wood)

VLC is my player of choice, OJOSoft is fantastic at converting different formats, and an excellent freeware movie editor called Shotcut does the trick for me.

I only ever use such sights for short, temporary burst of time, then quit and look back in a month or two.

One thing I do keep my eye on Netflix for are the soft disclosure topics/programs that cover Alt history.
    ..................................................

Amazon Prime is the same, have watch some great vids over the last month, now I've canceled for a month or two

Two very well worth watching documentarys:

'UFO's 1973: Aliens, Abductions and extraordinary sightings'
That sounds run of the mill but is a very well made objective documentary. The producer has put together eye witness accounts of 1973 wave events with no questions or interruptions.
Full 'Rendlesham Forest incident' a recording on the night as one great example.

'UFO Chronicles: Masters of deception' Vid is of Richard M. Dolan and Nick Pope answering questions and giving views, all very interesting (Again both uninterrupted)
I'm a simple easy going guy that is very upset/sad with the worlds hidden controllers!

Its funny because only a couple of weeks ago, I asked my husband if he noticed how all the series and films coming out recently all have what looks and feels like a darker blue/grey tint on the camera lens - well, something like that - its hard to describe but the lighting always seems subtly subdued - a bit dark. Admittedly we watch the tiniest amount of series and films but even scrolling through the garbage of new release trailers, its all the same - like its fashionable to have a depressing tinge throughout regardless of content. Makes me wonder what additional effect that has on our brains? And its not our TV setting because when we watch or should I say 'observe' a couple of news channels (purely for entertainment), they all seems absurdly bright lol!

    And yes.

The trick (just as on YouTube, or any media of any kind) is not to browse, but to focus on and search actively only for things one knows of and wants to find. (That way, Tom, you'll not get upset by material you don't actually want to watch.)

My, this is certainly a new one! At Avalon we've dealt with some really big issues like false flag attacks, global corruption, poisoned GMO food, unending warfare and even the presence of extraterrestrial beings in our part of the solar system but this certainly takes the cake!!! What could be more horrendous that coming home after a hard days work, grabbing a beer, plopping one's ass onto the couch and then finding homosexuals romping on one's TV!!!. And thanks to Globalism - this is a world wide issue. People in the Gaza strip who come home (if there home hasn't been bombed that day) only to find "bad stand-up comedy" on the telly while political dissenters at secret torture prisons may be forced watch "Bad Asian Movies".

I am afraid this is a First Class World Problem and beyond the scope of what we do at Avalon. If you have time in your busy event filled purpose drive life, you might want to refer this First Class World Problem to a more serious domain. May I recommend:

Hey there TomKat, I have Netflix. It's great. The comedians profiled are: Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, Norm MacDonald, Chris Rock, Martin Short, Steve Martin....the list goes on and on. That's about as good as it gets man. Who would you prefer instead? Gallagher???

I don't think 'The Godfather' was a low budget movie that went straight to TV. Nor 'The Departed'. Nor 'The King's Speech'. Nor 'Lincoln'. Nor 'Dallas Buyers Club'. Nor 'Full Metal Jacket'. Nor 'Michael Clayton'. Nor 'The Bourne Ultimatum'. Nor 'The Truman Show'. Nor 'Blood Diamond'. Nor 'Gangs Of New York'. Nor 'Eyes Wide Shut'...

    Shall I go on?

Oh, and I've had Netlflix for about a year, and I've yet to run in to any of those meddlesome homosexuals you speak of. Nor have I seen any "bad Asian movies". I don't think I've seen any Asian movies, actually...good or bad. Wait a second...let me guess, you're a Trump guy? Well, there's a documentary on him too.

Yep, besides a plethora of classic movies and tv shows, and the world's top comedians past n present, and award winning documentaries with topics ranging from everything A-Z, there's very little that Netflix offers. Very little...

I think "Ozark" is underrated. The world of money laundering. Big city drug lords and hillbilly mafiosi. Rich vacationers and hard working locals. The difficulty of finding organic pistachio ice cream in a red state.

It's arty and minimalist but sometimes builds up to unbearable dramatic intensity. Often few words are said but they belie complex thoughts and motivations.

I've had Netflix for almost 20 years and I'm getting tired of all the newer shows that glorify criminality and depravity in the last few years. It's either super-soldier propaganda (comic book crap) or some kind of depravity. After that, it's whatever they can buy cheap, like foreign movies and BBC shows. Not a lot of memorable movies to re-watch, and they don't stay long because they cost too much. Hollywood in general is out of ideas so it's endless reboots (and now she-boots) of classic movies. Bereft of creativity, Hollywood just wants to socially engineer the population into being as depraved as they are. I'm always surprised at people who don't notice the media has an agenda. And lately it's too satanic for my taste.

Default Re: Time to cancel Netflix?

I cancelled my Netflix subscription about 5 years ago. Tried Amazon Prime as well, wasn't for me. Part of the reason is their regional restrictions policy. In the old days you could use a VPN to circumvent those, but I believe it no longer works. The UK has a decent selection of content, but the rest of Europe, where I live, is pretty poor. Only about 10 percent of overall content is available for streaming, so thank you, but no, thank you.

As a bilingual person who hates movies dubbed into Hungarian and German, I have no choice but to torrent what I need or stream it illegally. I know, it is not very ethical, but it's about the only way to watch whatever you want in the original language, without dubbing, voice overs or subtitles, all three of which I find incredibly annoying. Top Gear with a Hungarian voice over is a horror show. The German versions are better, but it still takes away from the enjoyment. The good thing is, torrenting and streaming is semi-legal here in Hungary, or at least the authorities turn a blind eye to it.

My only issue with Netflix is why in the hell did I not buy stock when it was down to a dollar or two a share - as a satisfied rural DVD-by-mail customer at the time I loved the service.

Could have retired by now on just 2 stocks - Netflix and Amazon, which I sold about 1600 percent ago.

Seriously though, if you are rural with a relatively poor internet connection and prefer Blue Ray quality movies on your home system, it's a great service. I don't pay for the streaming service, maybe all these outrages come from there?
