Default Interesting lights rising from desert area

Maybe they are aircraft such as helicopter? Or military drones?

The speed and action dose make them look like Chinese lanterns.

But who knows, maybe Chinese lanterns are mimicked ?

We need close up in your face images/vid, but even then they can be faked nowadays

I've seen exactly the same kind of lights/formations on many occasions, often on New Year's Eve and November 5th. They were Chinese Lanterns, so that's my bet.

A few minutes before 12:30 pm yesterday, I went out in our backyard to play with the dog. The sky was fairly clear, and the sun was high in the sky. Slightly to the west of the sun, I saw a single bright object in the sky (very high up). At first I thought it was a star, but I've never seen a star at noontime on a sunny day. But it seemed fixed in position like a star.

I took a picture with my iPhone cam and was getting ready to take another when suddenly a dog belonging to a neighbor two house away came into our yard, causing a lot of chaos. My dog does not like strange people or dogs on our property. The dog chaos lasted maybe two minutes. When I looked for that star-like object again, it was gone. Unfortunately, it did not show up on the one photo that I took (@12:28 pm).

I'm on Florida's Space Coast, by the way.

Interesting Noelle, tricky if yes you're shooting towards to the sun, but you could try posting it anyway, and I or someone else could run it through some photoshop filters. You never know what might show up..

Hi Noelle. Unfortunately I couldn't find any anomalous objects in the scene, or light source other than the sun. Of course the object may have moved to within the disc of the sun by the time you took the shoot, and it got lost in the glare. Sorry!

Thanks for the effort. And yes, it could have moved just as I took the picture. I forgot to mention that I was wearing my polarized prescription sunglasses. Maybe I was seeing something that the iPhone cam could not capture.

Camera's can pick up a greater range of light than your eyes can, and then convert that into visible light in your final image. For example a camera can pick up into infrared - hence why infrared lights work with almost any camera to give you night shots. Special camera is not needed.

Polarized lenses will filter out light where the wavelength is not moving along a specific angle, so it will actually reduce what you see (removing reflected light specifically, for example off of water - this is what they are designed to do), so they would remove light from entering your eyes, not provide any additional viewing capabilities.
When you are one step ahead of the crowd, you are a genius.
Two steps ahead, and you are deemed a crackpot.
