Default Two major university presses are scheduled to release books on Ufology

Both Oxford University Press and Stanford University Press are working to bring ufology into the world of academic respectability, where it has been derided for decades.

In January 2019, Oxford will release Diana Pasulka’s “American Cosmic UFOs, Religion, Technology”. It is described as “an ethnographic study”, so it sounds as though it will put a little bit of academic superiority between the world of academia and “those people” who are the focus of the study. Ms Pasulka has also written about “Purgatory” (as a historical and social phenomena) and the Vatican seems to have quite an interested in her work.

In 2020 or thereabouts, a person who actually calls himself a ufologist will have a book released: “Intimate Alien: The Hidden Story of the UFO” by David Halperin. Like Pasulka, Halperin is also interested in religion at an academic level and has taught Jewish History.

Another way they are both connected: Halperin taught at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Pasulka is now at University of North Carolina Wilmington. Another published author, A.J. Hartley, who co-authored the “Sekret Machines”, is teaching Shakespease at University of North Carolina Charlotte. Is there a connection to this university and the project to bring ufology into the respectability of academia?

An interesting interview by Diana Pasulka. She was allowed to go into the Vatican archives and was told she could look at anything she wanted to and was invited to stay in Castel Gandolfo, the official vacation retreat for the pope.
