    Default Netflix film: 'Extinction'

    Extinction.

    Sorry if already posted about

Just another invasion and then fight back survival film I thought, but no.

Quote A man's home life starts to suffer when he has recurring nightmares about a destructive and unknown force. He must soon find the strength to save his wife and two daughters when extraterrestrials launch a devastating attack on the planet.

Liked this film quite a lot.

I won't say how it ended

After watching this film I had thoughts of the stories of "Regression Sessions" where people reported memory's of fighting on Mars.
Trying to find Avalon OP links about this phenomenon.

    Question Re: Netflix film: 'Extinction'

I stopped watching halfway through because I thought it's just another stupid alien invasion flick, not even with good special effects...

...so you say the time finishing it would be well spent?

About remembering fighting on Mars, did you mean the Camelot interview with Boriska?

I downloaded this flick last week. Currently on my hard drive....for which I intend to watch at my cottage for my upcoming week off at Canadian Thanksgiving in October. The trailer certainly intrigued me.

Thank you for those links Builder and Hervé, I will back track and look at them tonight.

Am I right in thinking that one of them says something like 'most who undergo that particular regressing have such memories', memories of being on Mars?

I was about 35 mins in and turned it off because it just a family escaping a building from aliens from outer space that had guns that shot bullets............ bullets? Maybe that is the clue for the ending?

OK I'll watch the rest on your suggestion but so far it has a cloverfield type feel right now and a C- rating from me for the time spent so far

I did watch the 'the beyond' on netflex which earthers had to create a human 2.2 cyborg in order to go through a Einstein Rosen Bridge that appeared above earth . I gave this one a B-

Example of an odd film you can find on youtube which I would give an A is 'The lathe of heaven'' be sure to watch the
old version not the updated one .

Funny reading through these posts. I too watched the first half and thought the same, just another crappy alien invasion movie done badly. But I gave it a second try and was really impressed with the ending. All the crap aliens, bullets and questionable plot points come together to make sense. But it's true, the first half is crap...x... N

Have seen it. Watched till the end. Even if I don't like a movie, I want to see it till the end. Otherwise I will never know if it really was a bad one or maybe a good one in the end

Yes, there is a nice twist in this movie and there is truth in this movie

It's always nice to talk about movies, but I will never spoil it. So in that case it's a shame it's not possible to freely talk about the movie, because there are always people who haven't seen the movie yet.

Haha yes, that's the key. A terrific "twist", but you have to watch the whole thing to get it. (I thoroughly enjoyed it! )

    OK finished it.......I raise my grade from a c- to a c.
Make sure you have a good subwoofer so you can get all the ear porn for all the gunfire and explosions

I did not read IMBD nor anywhere else on this movie so my thoughts are my own.
It could have been a decent half hour type outer limits or twilight zone show easily and I would have raised my grade a little higher.

But 3/4 of my time watching this was lame..... I wasn't fooled and was right on the bullet thing I mentioned.

It is worth the discussion here for sure, so view on friends .. I've read too much sci fi and many other things and my ignorance is not bliss anymore now but bliss turd..(blistered).. I thought it was predictable.. Didn't mean to put a turd in the punch bowl.. I think some may like it.

I think that's what gives the film extra little punch/surprise at the end, your led into a false 'same old same old' film mind set.
