Jesus went into the desert for forty days for one express purpose: to vanquish the hold of the desecrator upon his mind. He was tempted three times. He was victorious and is why he could later rise from the dead - he had defeated the evil one at its own game.

We are tempted daily, minute by minute even. Most of us have limited success and only a handful can claim victory.

To defeat Satan is to defeat death...

Ernie, the simple yet brilliant post about defeating satan is defeating death just hit me.

I don't care how this sounds, but the adversary actually offered me half his kingdom; the kingdom of death, promising nothing but lies. I refused.
