Tinnitus. sigh. Anyone here experience this?

I have had ear issues since I was a child: aches, infections, wax build up due to small canals, blockage and difficulty hearing

Of late, the ringing in my right ear is super super LOUD and constant. I took myself off to an Ear Specialist (again) and was told nothing that I did not already experience/know.
A more formal diagnosis of "severe deafness; nerve damage" in my right ear.

It is truly making me so tired as the whirring is relentless. I am mindful not to go crazy with this (averting focus), but would love some relief. Am open to any remedies, thoughts, comments, wild explanations, suggestions, solutions.

There is the possibility of a hearing aid (very expensive to buy where I live), but prefer to look into other methods first if possible.

My late father had this and my oldest son has from time to time.
There are numerous "cures" on u tube.
When my son has it bad he comes to me and I do Bio-energy on it--there may be a practitioner near you.
There is nothing but energy in movement and an energy therapist might be the best course

Sorry you're going through this lunaflare. My wife suffers from tinnitus and vertigo, which can sometime be pretty extreme - most nights she falls asleep relatively early from sheer exhaustion, but there were a few things she found that did help lessen the symptoms. She has tried:

1. Limiting salt intake
2. Limiting caffeine intake (1 coffee a day)
3. Limiting processed sugar intake
4. Eating organic fruits and veggies where possible
5. A bit more difficult to do, but do whatever you can to reduce stress - this helped her a lot

I would also recommend meditating if you can, even if you end up falling asleep as a result.

I have read somebody who claimed to have been cured of tinnitus through acupuncture. Could be worth a shot.
Plenty of leads to find if you google acupuncture tinnitus. Not sure if it would be useful in your particular situation but I guess it won't hurt either. Wish you good luck !

Turmeric in general has incredible healing properties and you can help your body absorb it's benefits by boiling it in water for 10-15 minutes, so it's worth trying that and seeing if it affects you. Whenever I feel myself getting sick I prepare and put some cinnamon in it as well to mask the flavor and it tastes like chai (to me anyway).

I have tinnitus for a few years now, and it's getting worse when i'm exposed to WiFi or using my celphone.
I have orgone pyramids in my bedroom.
And always disconnect the wifi at night.
No real cure found yet.

I've had tinnitus for many years. About 6 years ago, my right ear began "ringing" persistently and has never stopped. The ringing in my left ear goes on and off, but is usually off. Thank goodness. Prior to six years ago, both ears would go on and off. But for some reason when the ringing in my right ear went on six years ago, it never stopped. Sometimes the ringing is less noticeable. As I type this my right ear is ringing pretty loudly--seemingly so. My left is not.

I also have hearing loss. Have had it since a child. Not noticeable to me much as a child and into my 40-50s, but in the last 10-15 years it became a problem. I have been wearing hearing aids in both ears for about 5 years now. (Oticon brand.) The hearing aids alleviate the ringing in my right ear usually. I understand that for many people hearing aids will alleviate tinnitus. I got lucky there. But for some people it makes it worse. The odds are that hearing aids will help with tinnitus.

Mieneres is a very specific disease with specific symptoms and is very debilitating. Vertigo, nausea, sweats etc.... Tinnitus is not Mieneres disease. Though I understand that tinnitus is typically present with Mieneres, On the other hand, Mieneres is not generally present with tinnitus.

What I have learned to do over the years is just accept the ringing. Ignore it. Let it pass through. Do not dwell on it.

Music or other background noise can drown out the ringing a bit. The sound of a shower or other running water can hep, it is also soothing to the soul.

You may want to try an over the counter medication called meclizine. It is an antihistamine and used also for motion sickness. It seems to help me.

Yes, I have experienced tinnitus in my left ear as well. This has gone on and off for decades.

I've visited many specialists, all of whom told me there is nothing wrong with my ear.

My history with this condition is both normal and paranormal... physical and non-physical... but it's the physical part that has incapacitated me in the past... I won't get into details as they are complicated.

All advice given above is valid and good. However, there is more you can do.

Personally, after trying everything above plus some, I finally found something that works for me and it is especially indicated for tinnitus of the left ear. This is a homeopathic medicine and it is called:

CHININUM SULPHURICUM

They say to start with 30c dose but i went directly to 200c because I was being driven insane.

I took 4 pellets of 200c three times a day for the first week and it completely subsided. I now take it when i need it, which is not very often any more. Sometimes, one single dose is enough to take it away for months, or even years. I always keep it in my make up bag so that i know it's there if i should suddenly need it and I can't wait until I get home.

Makes sense to reduce inflammation (possibly due to viral--long standing-- infection). I am sensitive to sugar (candida) and someone who is allergic to quite a lot of foods and chemicals. I was so disappointed with my so called specialist doctor. There was no mention of any posisbility other than nerve damage. deafness. irreversible. When I mentioned I sensed fluid it was discounted. Allergies too. But realistically given this is the medical field it is to be expected--a narower view when it comes to treating health in a holistic way.

The suggestion not to "dwell" on the tinnitus is sound and yes, hearing aids are an option these days. Ironically perhaps, there is a possiblitiy hearing aids help facilitate deafness.

I have had it since 2004. It came after 2 doses of anitbiotics for a throat infection in about 1 month. This year I looked at youtube and a specialist had a procedure where you pull you ears to open the eustachian tube and mimic swallowing as well as jutting your jaw forward. I tried it but I felt I was pulling my ears off. Lo and behold I had a tinnitus free day after 14 years. It however came back the next day with decreased intensity and came back fully in a few days. I haven't tried the procedure again because I feel I'm stretching the skin in my face, a feeling which may be entirely unwarranted.

After 14 years, I've become used to it.

I have recommended the homeopathic remedy stated above to someone who suffered from it in their right ear. It worked! It might work for you too.

Homeopathics are so inexpensive and one little bottle will last you a long time.

I have lived with tinnitus for 30 years!

The No.1 cause of my tinnitus was exposure to extremely loud music in a small venue.
It all started when I went to see Jenny Morris at a local pub in Australia.
PA system was not mixed correctly for the size of the venue - completely over-amplified!
Jenny Morris was one of those female singers who can really hit those high octave notes. When she landed on that one high note at the end of a song, it literally felt like my ear exploded. I couldn't hear for 3 days and had a constant loud ringing in my ears for many weeks.

5 years ago I made everything worse when I went to see U2 at the Olympic Stadium in Sydney. Me and my cousin positioned ourselves at ground zero, a few metres from centre stage. Totally f^&*@d my ears again! Amazing concert, but I was a fool to do what I did, knowing I already had bad tinnitus.

Tinnitus is always there.
It increases and decreases continually.
When I am under stress and/or get run down, it always gets worse.
Sometimes it get's so bad, I feel like putting an electric drill in my ear for relief.

I listen to music all the time and am careful not to listen to anything extremely loud.
Regular daily meditation has helped to tune my brain out of hearing the sine wave signal.

Yes I played in a Rock Band for years and we got a residency in a local hotel--over 300 people, three times a week.
The dance floor large but we played in an alcove like a concrete box--my hearing suffered and at times there was tinnitus even now---but its normally very quiet just background.
Im stress free through meditation.
My son has a stressful occupation and when the stress rises the tinnitus increases.
