Default Paul Stamets' epiphany that mushrooms could help save the world's bees

The epiphany that mushrooms could help save the world's ailing bee colonies struck Paul Stamets while he was in bed.

"I love waking dreams," he said. "It's a time when you're just coming back into consciousness."

Interesting stuff. Did you know that one of the lead characters in the highly recommended Star Trek Discovery was named Paul Stamets? In the series he discovered that there was a mycelium network connecting the whole universe - much like the network that connects trees on this planet.

Correction - it's VERY, VERY interesting and I recommend everyone watch at least the first 30 minutes of the video. It will change your world view...

That character in star trek is actually based on him, they didn't even change his name.

I don't know if it's the title of the thread or what, but i found this interview to be very enlightening . It's a shame it didn't get more attention, the first 30 minutes was very educational . The video of the interview below ... best 30 minutes I've spend in a while. Oh by the way bees were not mentioned in then first 30 minutes. It was about our ecosystem and what it is made of .

There is a man out west (Oregon I think) who has spent years developing mushroom based pesticides. They work. An executive for Monsanto said his work posed the greatest threat to Monsanto. Go shrooms!
