Looks like they caught the two who were messing with the Drone at Gatwick airport, UK.
A huge problem with that is whether we believe anything any longer that the authorities have to say in relation to security and surveillance topics .
Examples .Do discerning people really believe the official account details of the Skripal affair ? And over the water , does the narrative of Stephen Paddock , allegedly the lone shooter responsible for the Las Vegas Massacre , stand the credibility test for more than two minutes once the fuller details are absorbed ?
Don't forget that over half the Russians in the UK are spies -- say 75000 -- and that our armed forces are seriously deficient in the event of a Russian invasion force . ( Ho , Ho , Ho side sound effects please )
And then they think and tell us that the alternative media is replete with conspiracy nutters .

I think the story about the drone(s) was a crock. The police could have caught whoever it was doing it in minutes if they'd wanted to.

There was another story that popped up many months back about a series of underground errr... earthquakes in the area from Heathrow airport to Gatwick airport.

I was then, and remain, suspicious about the cause of those 'quakes'. With my tin foil hat fully atop my head, I imagined that there was a long range tunnel ending in that area and they were working on linking it up to those 2 airports. That idea still sits firmly with me.

So, several months later they are getting very close to Gatwick with the link work. So close, that there is a risk to the airport itself, perhaps. They need an excuse to close the airport for a while.

"Ah, I know, let's have some punk flying drones around the place, that'll sound convincing".

All the fuss of service personal around the place would be covered by the crock too, perfect.

    Right, I'll put the tin foil hat back in the drawer, and sneak off somewhere . . . . . . . . .

Two people have been arrested in connection with the "criminal use of drones" which caused major disruption at Gatwick Airport.

More than 100,000 Christmas travellers were affected when hundreds of flights were grounded from Wednesday night to early on Friday.

Flights were temporarily suspended again on Friday evening after another drone was spotted near the airfield.

Sussex Police said a man and woman were detained "in the Gatwick area" shortly after 10pm on Friday.

The arrests were part of "ongoing investigations into the criminal use of drones which has severely disrupted flights in and out of Gatwick Airport", the force said.

"We continue to urge the public, passengers and the wider community around Gatwick to be vigilant and support us by contacting us immediately if they believe they have any information that can help us in bringing those responsible to justice," Superintendent James Collis added.

"The arrests we have made are a result of our determination to keep the public safe from harm. Every line of enquiry will remain open to us until we are confident that we have mitigated further threats to the safety of passengers."

He added that police are deploying tactics to "build resilience to detect and mitigate further incursions from drones".

A Gatwick Airport spokeswoman confirmed flights had resumed on Friday evening after being suspended for more than an hour when a drone was spotted at about 5.10pm.

Military measures in place meant it was safe to fly despite the "confirmed sighting", the spokeswoman said.

Equipment deployed to stop further drone chaos is believed to be capable of jamming signals to the rogue devices as well as tracking them.

The airport faced a total shutdown on Thursday and part of Wednesday night when drones repeatedly violated its perimeter.

Some passengers described freezing conditions as they slept on benches or on the airport floor.

Conservative peer Lord Ashcroft offered a £10,000 reward for information that led to the arrest and charge of the drone operator.

Gatwick is Britain's second busiest airport and serves more than 43 million passengers a year.

Just one more thing about stopping the drones:

If it's got a computer chip and a frequency then it can be taken over, just like most modern cars.

I think the main deference between radio controlled aircraft and drones is the 'AI' that is built into Drones,
they are very cleaver and can be programmed (Most have built in pre-programmed flight operations) they can even be made to lock on to someone/thing and follow it, when get gets near to it's distance from the owner it will just fly back and not just crash, cleaver ha.
I'm a simple easy going guy that is very upset/sad with the worlds hidden controllers!

The claim was that the 'drones' were "industrial grade", not hobbiest drones.. What does that mean?

@Sunny-side-up points out some drones are computerized.

I point out some "industrial grade" drones are used in UK to do surveillance operations, primarily for power-lines, and other "security" purposes. That means GPS, (or the Russian equivalent "GLONASS"), inertial guidance system, and pre-planned routes to be traveled with an eventual return to some destination.

If it were a "rogue" security group - ( @ripple points out the amount of "spies" in UK, I noted the cabbies are "spooks" reporting to somebody when they get some juicy data from their fares )..

@norman points out "quakes" - possibly tunneling but more possibly there is hydraulic stimulation happening in the oil fields to the South and East of Gatwick.

There are some really intense Chinese Made Drones which can have what is called "airport avoidance zones" deliberately hacked out of the software, allowing them to be not only surveillance, they can carry a "payload", either chemical or biological.

Check out the W18 thread on the forum, that stuff in a 2 ounce aerosol can kill millions from a drone fly-over.

That thread discusses a very serious topic about a very real threat. (here is a "sprayer drone" made in China, very "industrial grade"..)

If that hypothesised CHINESE drone has been modified to let it FLY in an "avoidance zone" to test out how well such a device CAN be used for potential terroristic purposes.

If one writes it off as something lesser than what the obvious is, a "test", one could very well be highly compromised. Russians, maybe, but more like Chinese.

Along that topic, I heard some data relating to China's industrial espionage policy, that their goal for 2019 and beyond is to capture as much "foreign" technology as possible, including all methods, to use extortion, terrorism, "spy-world-apparatus" (see the thread in security about Chinese Chips being secretly installed in motherboards for servers)..

As to knocking down a drone... There are some intense microwave burst-like RF systems which military does have. Were the industrial drones actually just sitting there waiting to be "shot down" ? As I've flown and used a semi-industrial scale drone in my exploration work for water and minerals, I have some good first hand experience with these things.

Interested folks about "drones" can take a look at this Chinese website - those drones are "hackable" and the US government is quite concerned about that Chinese company and their products..

take a look at the video: https://www.djivideos.com/watch/6313...=false&poster=

You mean you think they lie?

That Skripal thing was just embarrassing to watch. All those reckless threats made toward Russia coming straight out of the PM's office just to have her own military undercut her claims that the chemical had even been definitively identified, let alone attributed to a foreign actor.

I guess the lessons from the whole "Iraq has WMDs!" thing haven't sunk in yet. And Assad decides to gas his own people every time the US announces withdrawal from Syria. Right.

There we have it. Was this from a MSM source greybeard? This is exactly what was easily guessed at: that the military have plenty of technology to take down a drone without firing flipping bullets into the sky and all across London. So while they have us taking off our shoes and throwing moisturiser in the bin in case we hide a bomb in there, the technology to keep drones away from airports has remained safely with the military. Good one

What I've never been able to understand is how easy it is to buy one & get it up in the air, no registration needed (as far as I'm aware) of who owns it. Such technology in the hands of an malevolent idiot is a disaster waiting to happen.
Right, and when one comes crashing to the ground (they already have in sport stadiums) and hits/injures someone, who exactly do you sue?
    The user?
    The manufacturer?
    A home insurance company?
    The city?
The venue that allowed its use (if in a venue)?

Also of interest is that MP's (would like to know whom) blocked the army's 14 Signal Regiment and a specialist RAF 2 Field Communications Squadron from becoming involved. The highly skilled units were poised to be flown into Gatwick in Chinook helicopters and were ready to use sophisticated anti-drone weaponry, (which has been in use in various military theatres' throughout the world for some time) which would have intercepted and crippled the device. It could even have tracked down the culprits......... I wonder who didn't want the culprits identified?

This latest fiasco has the same whiff a-la Skripal...........

We'll have to be vigilant and see what will become of this.

    Problem.

    Reaction.

    Solution.

    Edit:
    A-haaaaaa..........

Quote But The Mail on Sunday has been told by high-level Whitehall sources that officials at the Department for Transport and the Home Office stopped the troops taking action for up 18 hours (sic)

    Right, I'll put the tin foil hat back in the drawer, and sneak off somewhere . . . . . . . . .

That could explain the dearth of footage of the drone? I wanted a clear image of the thing that has been causing all the mayhem, but all we were treated to was a tiny 'circular' fuzzy image which could have been anything. With all the usual surveillance technology that surrounds airports....this is all we have in the way of 'evidence'? Don't close that drawer!

Playing this surreal incident for all that it is not really worth :--
For a few decades we have been told that the Globalists final and greatest False Flag will be a simulated Alien invasion ( sounds great to me ) .
So . Might this be a precursor to the greatest show on earth? Airports down all over the planet . Huge outages and a near collapse of the grid .
As we speak , the Antarctic electro magnetic anomaly continues , satellites need to be knocked out ( switched off ) and then the stupendous holograph show will commence .
That should prevent The Donald and his gang of merry military from arresting and indicting all the naughty people .
I wonder where I need to be to get the best view .

Drone, what drone? Police make incredible claim there may NEVER have been a drone attack on Gatwick as they release 'most inoffensive bloke ever' and his wife after 'ripping their house apart during appalling investigation'

During the whole dronegate, Twitter exploded with conspiracies about how a Drone could be Airborne for more than one hour.

Several Witnesses stated they did not see much police, army activity and not even a Drone for hours.

It does seem like a Psy OP to me. It took over the front pages of every major newspaper after the Brexit debacle. Gives TBTB a chance to wipe clean public opinion, focus their attention elsewhere before starting a three month campaign of fear porn to get the UK out of europe.

Let us be charitable and continue to believe that we are not run by a bunch of congenital idiots .The poor Police can hardly be blamed for this early pantomime -- they only follow orders or fall into black holes that others have created .
So what lies behind this disaster show? What are those running the show doing?

Un-friggin' believable that a now, suspected drone, could have disrupted so many flights for a such a long time at a very busy airport 17 years after 9/11.
What, no one has learned any lessons?
They don't even have any photos of the thing.

Gatwick: suspects exonerated as confusion deepens over drone attack

Detectives were examining a damaged drone for clues on Sunday night after they had to release two people who were exonerated over the incidents that have repeatedly brought Gatwick airport to a standstill.

Confusion deepened as a senior police officer in the case said it was “always a possibility that there may not have been any genuine drone activity in the first place”. DCS Jason Tingley added that although the damaged drone was a significant line of inquiry, wet weather could have washed away evidence. He also noted that there were no pictures or video of the drone incursions into the airspace around Gatwick . He said there was “no available footage and [officers] are relying on witness accounts”.

Tingley later clarified that police did believe the drone sightings were credible as there had been a large number of witnesses. “We are actively investigating sightings of drone activity at Gatwick airport following 67 reports from the evening of 19 December to 21 December from the public, passengers, police officers and staff at the airport,” he said.

Sussex police said they were not “back to square one” in the investigation after their suspects were cleared and pointed to new persons of interest and house-to-house inquiries near the location of the drone sightings.

The setback to the investigation followed a series of newspaper reports naming those arrested as 47-year-old Paul Gait, a window fitter, and his 54-year-old wife, Elaine Kirk, from Crawley, three miles south of Gatwick.

They were released after 36 hours of questioning. Their friends expressed dismay that the couple had been arrested in the first place.

Their pictures appeared on a number of Sunday newspaper front pages, one of which asked: “Are these the morons who ruined Christmas?” The television presenter Piers Morgan apologised after describing the pair as “clowns” in a tweet and said the situation was a fiasco.

The airport is now offering a £50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.

Sussex police said the damaged device had been found near to the north perimeter of the airport and added that they were fast-tracking tests on it to offer any clues as to who had been flying it.

The series of sightings over the runway had forced Britain’s second-largest airport to shut three times in three days last week, causing hundreds of flight to be cancelled and an estimated 140,000 passengers to be stranded at the airport.

Tingley said the arrests on Friday had followed a tipoff and said police were working through persons of interest.

Sections of the media came under scrutiny for their treatment of the couple, who were surrounded by officers and photographers as they returned to their home on Sunday. Police said they had not put the couple’s names into the public domain.

Police made the arrests just after 10pm on Friday. The man and woman were detained on suspicion of disrupting civil aviation in a way likely to endanger the safety of people or operations.

They were the first arrests made since the drone sightings plunged Gatwick into chaos on Wednesday. It was the airport’s biggest disruption since the Icelandic volcanic ash cloud of 2010.

After the release of the couple, Tingley said in a statement: “Both people have fully cooperated with our inquiries and I am satisfied that they are no longer suspects in the drone incidents at Gatwick.

“It is important to remember that when people are arrested in an effort to make further inquiries it does not mean that they are guilty of an offence and Sussex police would not seek to make their identity public.”

Labour has called for an independent inquiry after accusing the government of missed opportunities to mitigate against the risks posed by drones, claims the government dismissed.

Police and military specialists were deployed to search for those behind the drones, which were sighted again near the airport as the authorities battled to keep the runways open at one of the busiest times of the year.

Airport bosses feared drones could potentially strike passenger planes with catastrophic consequences. The financial consequences of cancelled flights are estimate to run into millions of pounds.

Anti-drone technology used by the army has been brought into Gatwick in an attempt to thwart any further attempts at disruption. British authorities do not believe the incidents were linked to terrorism or any foreign power.

    I think it's either:

    a) a really bad joke
    b) an ongoing false flag to distract from the Brexit disaster, maybe with the added benefit of blaming Putin later on when the evidence is "found"

So far it doesn't make any sense as an act of classical terror, because there was no real terror, no physical harm, no one claiming responsibility.

Oh and I like this idea for a citizens self help solution (will never be allowed to happen of course):
