Lots of details. But, the flyer says rates do not include the $10 resort fee- which was waived in the contract. Hopefully it’s just an error on the flyer.
Yes, the $10/night resort fee is waived. I'd guess they just used a regular template for the image.

The Aquarius Resort has sent me this flyer... it's official.
    • The booking code is in their system: C-PAG19.
    • The special rate does NOT include Saturday night 30 March. That's because it's a 3-day event (viz. we have the meeting room for 3 days), and so they allocated 3 nights for the attendees at the cheap rate. I do apologize to anyone who's on a really tight budget. I appealed it, but they wouldn't move on it.
    • Do note the cut-off date for this rate: 15 March.
Hi Bill, this might be a stupid question or maybe you have considered it already, but would it be possible to book the meeting room a day early in order to get the discounted rate for the 30th?

If the Pisces Room (and given that Pisces is ruled by Neptune, this room is a great choice given the Mercury-Neptune conjunction during the meet-up, who says that synchronicity isn't a thing) is $150 for 3 days then an extra night is only $50 compared with - if we can access the discounted rate - a saving of $30 times however many of us will stay on the 30th? Assuming 20 people means approx $600 we would collectively save, or 10 people makes $300? Even a more expensive meeting room costing $100 would be worth it, even if we didn't use the room at all.

Just a thought, might be worth checking with the booking people at the hotel? Or do you need a show of hands about how many of us are arriving on the 30th? I'm one of them...

Sorry to make more work for you

For people arriving early, the UFO conference goes through Saturday the 30th; it seems like one could use the UFO discount room rate. You may need to make two separate reservations with the different discount codes.

    https://ufomegacon.com/hotel/

Edit: I called the hotel. The UFO discount room rate for March 30 is $70.99, the same rate for Avalon. It must be because the discount rates are more for Fri & Sat nights for everyone.

The best bet for someone on a tight budget would be to room with a buddy. The rates are for double occupancy. As an aside, the room rates are CHEAP compared to any other hotel rooms in the states - and I’m known for being a tightwad.

That's a very creative idea, but unfortunately they're intransigent. It's a shame. They pointed out they'd been extremely generous with the 3-night discounted rate, the same as for the much larger main conference preceding it, and also with the waiving of the resort fee. (And in fairness, that all may well be true.)

If you're rooming with me and you know who you are, I'll cover the additional expense for the first night.

It feels like it's coming up fast and I can't wait!

    * Reposted PS:

There are a good dozen or more people who really might be able to make it, but still don't quite know. The prevailing factors are work or other commitments, and some of you I know are working quite hard to see if you can make it all work out. These others are NOT listed here at the moment, and I'll very happily update the list as more folks get clearer.

A personal note: I've received a LARGE number of messages and e-mail replies about this, including from some who've most kindly and openly told me in some detail about their personal circumstances, some of which are complex and difficult.

For those to whom I've not yet been able to reply, I do apologize — but I definitely read and appreciated everything.

For those who are daunted (or stopped!) by the cost of an internal North American flight [to Las Vegas]: do please PM or e-mail me, as there may well be a workaround solution that's 100% affordable.

My suggestion is that we all focus on our group consciousness (which exists as "Project Avalon" on the internet and will exist in a more concentrated form when the thirty of us free Avalonian spirits are all in one room) and see what our group consciousness thinks we should do. I know it sounds crazy, but IMHO the group consciousness of aware beings (let's flatter ourselves a little here) is like a higher self, it is a being that we are all part of but is larger and wiser than any one of us.

I'm not saying that we should all act as a collective or try and reach consensus about everything, of course. But if we can learn to connect with our group consciousness, and wing it a little, that will be really magic.
Actually I truly believe that there IS something to this group consciousness thing! I am excited about both meeting everyone, and seeing where it goes.. Can't wait to meet you all!

I am hoping I can do this. I have some hurdles to overcome I wasn't aware of initially. It's been so long since I've traveled (I used to think nothing of just getting in my car and driving across the country, armed with a map and a credit card) that I feel quite inept at figuring this stuff out, but I'm working on it.
