    The Heart of water

These villagers in Guatamala have created a virtual oasis for themselves by embracing the wisdom of their ancestral knowledge.

"Perennial resilience" was a term I had never heard before

The villagers grow cash crops of watercress - The watercress itself has been a blessing because it has grown as a by-product of water and their terraced and aquatic water systems.

The watercress naturally seeded itself into the water system; there wasn't an initial planting and establishing of the crop. In other words, it grows like a weed.

The watercress crops have been very low maintenance (watercress is also an amazing detoxifier for the body) and it even filters the water as it runs through the aquatic systems!

There could be a future Arable/Ara war. Denmark was threatened by the Russians and the Ukraine is at war.
    Wiki
Quote Arable land is the land under temporary agricultural crops (multiple-cropped areas are counted only once), temporary meadows for mowing or pasture, land under market and kitchen gardens and land temporarily fallow (less than five years). The abandoned land resulting from shifting cultivation is not included in this category. Data for 'Arable land' are not meant to indicate the amount of land that is potentially cultivable.
