Default Chair of Harvard’s Astronomy Dept. on Omuamua

I’ve checked for threads on Omuamua and to my surprise, there were no returns?

I heard a brief reference that Omuamua may be back near Jupiter? Cannot find any additional references on line.

Gives you a rough idea of where it should be ...

When you are one step ahead of the crowd, you are a genius.
Two steps ahead, and you are deemed a crackpot.

Zdenek Sekanina, an astronomer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, believes that ‘Oumuamua could be a “monstrous fluffy dust aggregate” left behind by the violent destruction of a comet. According to a new study Sekanina published in the open source journal arXiv.org, Oumuamua very well could be a loosely bound cloud of dust zooming through the universe like a cosmic zombie after a “recent explosive event” destroyed what was once a comet.

Who knows, maybe alien civilizations somewhere can create spacecraft which look to us like fluffy clouds of dust. We have no clue what any alien races, if they exist, are capable of producing.

The diagram is very helpful to understand the orbit of the object.

Great topic, it really makes one imagine how far it has come to see us.

But at the moment what interests me is the music to this vid

    Anyone know please.

It seems Omuamua is in a rush to get home.

Quote Astronomers have found that ‘Oumuamua, the first interstellar object discovered in the Solar System, is moving away from the Sun faster than expected. Using data from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, in cooperation with ground-based telescopes, a team of researchers concluded that ‘Oumuamua is most likely outgassing — suggesting that this enigmatic interstellar nomad is a peculiar comet rather than an asteroid.

Given that we are supposedly over due for a reset/catastrophic again, well I'm glad it didn't hit us or anywhere else in our solar system.

It missed and so maybe we have been given an extension hope so
