Well, I felt that! (Big time.) The house shook violently rather too long for comfort... always hard to judge, but it felt like a full minute. Other initial reports have said it was a 7.7.

Still dark here, and I was up early (this all happened at 5.15 am local time), so I'll have to look for damage when the sun rises. It's probably all okay... but this is a pretty old adobe farmhouse, built maybe 80-90 years ago. Not reinforced in any way! I'll check out water and gas pipes quite carefully.

Several aftershocks, too. Because of all the very heavy rain here, highways will be blocked all over the country. Big mudslides hitting mountain villages, etc. Really NOT good for a lot of poor people in simple houses. I'm sure we'll hear a lot more about this.

    Wow!

So glad to hear you're safe, Bill. Praying for all affected!

I wonder if the Phi angle finally shifted. I guess we will find out in about a half an hour when suspicious observers podcast is released.

I know Warren lives there and at least one other. Please check in to let us know how you are and if I can help.

    Be safe All!

No mention of a phi angle shift, but Ben mentioned yesterday that an uptick would begin today. It doesn't sound like this will be the only one today.

Well, it was a scary way to wake up. I live in a high rise, 4th floor, and this building moved like a hammock from side to side ( which is good I think ) First earthquake at 5:17 am initially was said to be a 7.7 and later downgraded to 7.5, second one at 5:20 am was 6.1 and last one at 5:40 am initially was 6.0 and then downgraded to 5.9 , but this was in the city where I live , Guayaquil , and it felt stronger but shorter.

I expected to hear things falling or breaking but nothing happened. The windows continued making sounds minutes after the earthquake. My cats were very scared. I have heard that if you live in a building depending on the floor you live you can try to make it outside and If not preferably stay inside .... so I just stayed inside since 4th floor is borderline. Besides , I don’t want to leave my pets.
All my friends and people work with me are ok, but as Bill says there must be lots of roads close because of mudslides.

Have been reading these earthquakes were expected , but as I tell my friends..... what are we supposed to do ? We just have to continue living as we are. I cannot move anywhere else....... sometimes ignorance is bliss ?

Edit : there have been no fatalities or anything destroyed that we know off because the 2 first earthquakes happened in the jungle. Hard to get there, besides no infrastructures to destroy.
