They arrested four people, released one, one was Tarrant and one of the others has been charged with “intent to excite hostility or ill-will.”. No further details are being given at this time on the one who was charged with intent to excite and there has been no details released on the third one still in custody.

According to the Twitter thread linked below, police were reporting three active shooters early on. The clip shows two armed men, neither look like Tarrant (he was alone during 7 mins of livestream and not wearing a cap) and neither look like cops. Terribly sad days for Kiwis. It is difficult to even begin to understand what drives these actions - let alone way down in the antipodes. I mean why here?

What s known is that he was a white Supremisist. Initial reports state he was very well prepared (over 2 years in preparation) and really well financed given his cache of weapons.

Now I know reports at the time of such actions can get confused and mis-reported - however i just wanted to record these 2 things somewhere.....

A lady on the news said that they knew of the plans as she had read them on facebook. This means they were advised.

Neither of these comments have been repeated - so it could have been a misreporting (or the gag orders) I did note that at question time with the police commissioner - he was asked about the face book notice and they were investigating it. (so they know) I have to say the lady was very matter-of-fact. It aired on TV1

A story of true heroism is emerging from the horrific terror attacks on innocent Muslims in New Zealand.

A gunman opened fire on worshippers in two mosques in Christchurch, killing 49 people.

The atrocities took place in Masjid Al Noor mosque, where at least 41 people were killed and another seven were shot dead inside the suburban Linwood Masjid Mosque. One person died in hospital.

However, witnesses have described how many more lives could have been lost, if not for the courage of a worker at Linwood Mosque.

A young mosque worker risked his own life to challenge the gunman and try to snatch his weapon, according to attack survivor Syed Mazharuddin.

He said up to 70 people were praying inside Linwood when gunshots were heard.

“Just around the entrance door there were elderly people sitting there praying and he just started shooting at them“, Mazharuddin told Sky.

He described seeing a woman shout “help”, before being shot in the face at point blank range.

“At just that moment, there was one young guy who usually takes care of the mosque and helps with parking and other stuff, so (the man) saw an opportunity and he pounced over to him and grabbed his gun.

A second survivor, Faisal Sayed, said: “If that hadn’t happened, many more would have died and I wouldn’t be here now.”

Following the horrendous massacre, a 28-year-old Australian man, Brenton Tarrant, has been charged with murder.

Tarrant reportedly made a ‘white power’ hand gesture during his court appearance. He has been remanded in custody until April 5 and police have said more charges are likely to follow.

Officers arrested two others following the attacks and are currently working to establish whether they had any involvement in the terror attacks against the Muslim community in New Zealand.

New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern has said that gun laws will be reformed after the attacks, as legislation allowed the suspect the legally obtain a semi-automatic weapon."

Just a thought, considering the last mass shooting in New Zealand was in 1990, that is 29 years ago, it proves that Kiwi have been responsible with their guns for all this time and the current laws are effective.

This terrible event was committed by a foreigner an "Australian" visiting New Zealand" "and not a Kiwi".

Therefore the solution to this is not a matter of revised gun laws but of better screening of visitors to New Zealand.

If you revisit old threads you'll see that many people including me do not have racial hatred which you seem to imply as natural to all people. P.S.: I’m trying to tune myself down, on that matter but I don’t know if that’s right either.
I will explain if you wish. Most recently I’ve travelled around the globe because I had to, for about two years. This site supports free speech so allow me to be honest about my observations, please.
The most free I ever felt was in the US and in Americas, generally. It took many generations of people there to overcome racial discrimination there and they still do have problems with it but at least, I mean, they do give each other equal rights and treatment, usually.
I spent 3 months recently in Finland and I totally love the people and pure environment. But almost every second day I’ve heard from the very educated person having me about how much “migration problem” costs them and how different all these colorful people are and how they should go home.
The only reason I was told those things privately anyway is my dam pale face.

I’ve left there with the same awareness and if all those colorful people aren’t welcome unless they can bleach and speak another language without mistake I’d feel forever in odds.

It’s the same for me even in so called country of my origin, hearing that they only want to live with the same people who they are. No, deeply no, I do not hate anybody and never did.

It’s dirty prejudice taught wrongly by even many esoteric groups and generally, human adults worldwide and there are few erroneous theories running about it if you ever encounter them. But they’re for real and do undermine mindsets of many human societies.

I lived in India and in Tibetan monastery for two decades on and off and consider India my home, really because I have experienced the most love and knowing from people there.
At the same time and if any of the nationalism and racism grows over people’s heads the discrimination towards anyone of other ethnicity is painful debt to the fact of being also human.

Brenton Terrant was no amateur gun nut. He displayed complete cold detachment when murdering 39 human beings in the first Mosque. No fear, no heavy breathing, no excitement. Just cool and calm. When driving to the second location he calmly states that if he had got to the Mosque a bit later he would have gotten more women.

Regardless, on viewing his self-made horror movie, the most glaring "fact" is the "fact" he is no amateur.

The guy was clearly trained. No if's, no buts. He was cool as a cucumber. He has done this before. The way he would reload - step back in the narrow hallway so there was less chance of being jumped as he reloaded.

He is totally confident.

The video is very disturbing, especially the young Muslim woman on the ground in front of the Mosque whimpering "Help me! Help me!" He blew the top of her head off.

You do not handle an AR15, military-style semi-automatic assault rifle like that unless you have trained to clear jams and misfires in the efficient manner he displays. He darts back into cover, out of the expansive prayer hall into a narrow hallway to change magazines - this is not something you do naturally. This is military training. House clearing - to make it harder to be attacked while changing magazines.

It is impossible to obtain an AR15 style assault rifle in Australia. Even a well connected organised crime figure would have trouble and you would immediately risk being on the "police radar" if you tried. So where did he train in their operation, tactics and handling? He was not long in New Zealand. He cannot buy firearms in New Zealand as an Australian citizen. Who brought them for him? Who supplied them? It is legal to own the AR15 he used and semi-automatic shotguns with the appropriate hunting licenses. Some claim his AR15 magazines were illegal 30 round.

In the dock, he looks 5ft 4inches. Muscular. He looks special forces - small and powerful. How they like them. Traveled extensively. Especially in Europe. Claimed he was a simple working class lad - made his money investing in crypto, ie: he's a drug dealer. Absolutely he is. I knew a guy who worked security in Palestine when Arafat had casinos. He had no military training. He learned on the job. That's where I think that guy has come from. They claim he was in Pakistan, who knows. I just know what I saw in that video.

He espouses a multitude of this-and-that politics claiming communist then anarchist, then libertarian and now he is not sure BUT he mentioned Mao and he draws from Julius Evola and "Sacred Tradition" which was Hitler's favourite book and Steve Bannon's too. Even though drawing from pure National Socialist water wells, the word "Jew" or "Jewish" never leaves his lips.

He was playing Serbian Chetnik folk music at one stage which the Chechens would play as they fought the Croatian fascists.

What a grab bag. I smell Bi Bi Henry. Who benefits? BiBi is about to make his own shooting video in Syria.

But we have little patience when it comes to thinking things thru and not just reacting. A highly questionable 9/11 event happened. BUSH went into Iraq, caused over a million deaths, men women children, and countless more in the margins etc. The result had to build lasting hatred from that part of the world . Paul Bremmer dropped off pallets of cash, millions of US Tax payer dollars. We left arms , made deals with our interests in mind. Then Isis arises, the retribution, beheadings, suicide bombers, a caliphate, then more reaction, an exodus, fear of Sharia law coming to the west and so on. Fanatics on all sides dig in their heels. This is one of the tragic consequences . Now Trump will get dragged in, and he will be the new target as its politicized. And on it goes. And however your world view has been designed is how you will cherrypick the causes, the blame and where the retribution should go . just some thoughts.
