Wired For Books, Host Don Swaim--Great interview with Art Garfunkel done years back after the break-up with Simon and his girlfriend, it's also about his book and his travels around the country in search of America--fascinating.

I was just a young boy in the early 1960s, but I sensed the optimism in America when JFK was in the White House. You could FEEL it! Not like today, with the darkness seemingly gathering around us. John Kennedy had style, wit, immense intelligence, and he knew what it was like to live with pain and suffering (he was in extreme pain due to a back injury most of his adult life.) He knew what it was to not measure up, since he was not a physically strong child, he could never measure up to his older brother, Joseph, who was bigger, faster, stronger. So John had to learn to try harder, be more committed and he did learn and he never gave up.
