This is a heart-warming short documentary of how a guy raises a baby starling that had fallen out of its nest. He teaches the little bird how to be a bird and takes it outside all the time. Even when the bird is fully grown it keeps coming back for visits:

Their friendship lasted about 3 years, then Fum the cat died of a kidney disease.
But they sure had a great time together for all of those three years.

This is a little video of 2 girls that have dogs and rescue cats regularly, to find them new homes. They found this little kitten which they tried to nurse back to health but it wouldn't eat. The dog of one of the girls adopted it and the kitten perked up again and started drinking milk.
The two became so close the girls didn't want them to have to them part again and now the cat comes on walks/even hikes with the dogs and the girls, even goes kayaking and swims (not too happily I'm guessing) in the pool.
It's a heart-warming story.
