While the US is coming up with ways to STOP oil and gas exploration off the eastern seaboard, and off shore in Alaska, Canada says FINE do it.
(Cross referencing this thread here for data on oil/gas exploration damage using airgun surveying in the seas) - What if we could shut down Big Oil and Gas worldwide?
Canada continues to allow off-shore oil and gas exploration, quite a hypocritical stand while "faces" scream that oil and gas burning is raising the temperature past the critical 2 degree point.
If Canada was truly concerned like the US courts are, the US courts have reversed Trump's opening of the continental shelf for exploration) they would shut down exploration. Instead they INSIST on allowing off-shore air-gun exploration, especially in the prime fishing grounds.
Are fishermen complaining the harvests of fish and products from the sea are dwindling (in the areas where the airgun surveys are happening) - yes, most certainly.
The article title: "More seismic surveys planned offshore eastern Canada"
Historically there have been massive damaging to the sea-life surveying off eastern Canada for many years. The fishing has continued to suffer, with fishermen being told that THEY are over-fishing. To the contrary, the airgun surveys for oil and gas are the culprits and Canada continues to turn a blind eye, instead allowing off-shore oil and gas exploration and production to continue.
TGS and PGS have committed to the North Tablelands 3D and Southeast Grand Banks 2019 2D multi-client projects offshore eastern Canada.
North Tablelands 3D will cover an area of around 5,000 sq km (1,930 sq mi) and with the 2018 Tablelands 3D survey, will span most of the open acreage to be offered in the November 2020 bid round.
PGS’ Ramform Atlas will acquire the data using the company’s GeoStreamer, with the program likely to get under way in early June.
Southeast Grand Banks 2019 2D will comprise around 13,300 km (8,264 mi), mainly across open acreage in upcoming bid rounds off southeastern Newfoundland (2021) and southern Newfoundland (2022).
In this case the MV Sanco Atlantic will acquire the data, again from early June onwards.
Following this ninth consecutive season of data acquisition offshore eastern Canada, the two companies’ jointly-owned library will feature more than 189,000 km (117,439 mi) of 2D GeoStreamer data and 48,000 sq km (18,533 sq mi) of 3D GeoStreamer data.
If Canada truly was concerned about "global warming" (not generating "lip service") they would NOT have allowed the profitable (to the government) off-shore oil and gas production and highly damaging to the sea-life surveys to continue.
Screaming that oil and gas burning should be stopped will NEVER stop CHINA or RUSSIA who are the greatest polluters from burning coal, oil and gas and not having pollution control mechanisms properly maintained and working to reduce emissions.
I've pointed out elsewhere that there are ways to shut down these awful damaging methods by hitting the producers in the pocket book, showing that there are no oil and gas present in the areas being surveyed.
We have techniques that will do that, if they are applied properly, and strategically.
We have ways to switch vehicles to zero emission, proper pollution control, but that COSTS money that the maggots who run the energy system "for massive profits" refuse to let go of a portion of it to allow for the implementation of the new technologies.
The monster continues to go on, bribing officials world wide to allow "status quo", and no fancy face talking about climate change from hydrocarbon burning is going to raise the attention of those who are in power to make a change. Their pockets are lined, and money talks, and pretty speeches do nothing to affect useful change.
People will continue to support the highly dirty oil producers from the mideast and Venezuela. Highly dirty hydrocarbon with a very nasty footprint to clean up while it is converted into fuels.
Why? Cause of the massive amounts of money that is channeled into the manipulators hands and pocket books. They do this by manipulating assets, then tossing some of the worst oils into the environment.
The Saudi mid-east oils are highly toxic, highly sulfur and contamination laden, and of course it matters not to the manipulators. It puts control (money in other words), in the hands of those who can be manipulated by the "powers that be", let's call it dark state.
They assumed that the Mid-Eastern and South American equity holders of the "crude" would easily be manipulated, or "bought off", and would comply with the "global elite" who take and give power to those those who will "comply", and likewise be "bought off" forever.. Those countries will NEVER change because of the system in place that pays them to produce.
Until that monster is addressed, screaming that OIL is BAD, COAL is BAD is lip service.
The monster is the bribery system, the control system, the manipulation system.

Canada's east coast fishing used to be great until recently - https://canadafishingindustry.weebly...t-fishery.html
Air-gun surveying KILLS planktons, the small krill, shrimp needed for feeding fish. Canada continues to allow air-gun surveying for oil and gas and there is no stopping them. This hypocritical practice is horrendous.Until recently, the east coast waters of Canada used to be one of the world greatest fishing grounds because of the great conditions the waters had.
All of the great conditions combined created favorable waters for fish. Because of Atlantic Canada’s wide continental shelf (less than 200 meters in depth) and the shallow banks (less than 150 meters deep) within the shelf, the sun was able to penetrate to the bottom, causing a growth of plankton which attracts many fish.
The east coast’s largest and best fishing region is called the Grand Banks, which has an area of 282 500 square km. This area is bigger than the island of Newfoundland which is 111 400 square km. The growth of plankton in this area was very easy because the meeting of the warm Gulf Stream and the cold Labrador currant caused a churn up from the bottom of the ocean of essential nutrients needed for plankton’s growth.

We need the new energy technology here NOW, not later, and to do that the "monster" has to be dealt with. As long as that global monstrocity is allowed to persist, nothing good will come out of it.. That's where the problem resides..
Oil and gas and coal are convenient manipulation tools used to control countries by the manipulators of the markets. And weak soul'd people who hold those assets end up being bribed to "comply" with the globalist agenda.. It isn't a good one-world being proposed by those globalists.
