Lightbulb Canada continues to allow OFF-SHORE air-gun surveys for OIL

While the US is coming up with ways to STOP oil and gas exploration off the eastern seaboard, and off shore in Alaska, Canada says FINE do it.

(Cross referencing this thread here for data on oil/gas exploration damage using airgun surveying in the seas) - What if we could shut down Big Oil and Gas worldwide?

Canada continues to allow off-shore oil and gas exploration, quite a hypocritical stand while "faces" scream that oil and gas burning is raising the temperature past the critical 2 degree point.

If Canada was truly concerned like the US courts are, the US courts have reversed Trump's opening of the continental shelf for exploration) they would shut down exploration. Instead they INSIST on allowing off-shore air-gun exploration, especially in the prime fishing grounds.

Are fishermen complaining the harvests of fish and products from the sea are dwindling (in the areas where the airgun surveys are happening) - yes, most certainly.

The article title: "More seismic surveys planned offshore eastern Canada"

Historically there have been massive damaging to the sea-life surveying off eastern Canada for many years. The fishing has continued to suffer, with fishermen being told that THEY are over-fishing. To the contrary, the airgun surveys for oil and gas are the culprits and Canada continues to turn a blind eye, instead allowing off-shore oil and gas exploration and production to continue.

TGS and PGS have committed to the North Tablelands 3D and Southeast Grand Banks 2019 2D multi-client projects offshore eastern Canada.

North Tablelands 3D will cover an area of around 5,000 sq km (1,930 sq mi) and with the 2018 Tablelands 3D survey, will span most of the open acreage to be offered in the November 2020 bid round.

PGS’ Ramform Atlas will acquire the data using the company’s GeoStreamer, with the program likely to get under way in early June.

Southeast Grand Banks 2019 2D will comprise around 13,300 km (8,264 mi), mainly across open acreage in upcoming bid rounds off southeastern Newfoundland (2021) and southern Newfoundland (2022).

In this case the MV Sanco Atlantic will acquire the data, again from early June onwards.

Following this ninth consecutive season of data acquisition offshore eastern Canada, the two companies’ jointly-owned library will feature more than 189,000 km (117,439 mi) of 2D GeoStreamer data and 48,000 sq km (18,533 sq mi) of 3D GeoStreamer data.

If Canada truly was concerned about "global warming" (not generating "lip service") they would NOT have allowed the profitable (to the government) off-shore oil and gas production and highly damaging to the sea-life surveys to continue.

Screaming that oil and gas burning should be stopped will NEVER stop CHINA or RUSSIA who are the greatest polluters from burning coal, oil and gas and not having pollution control mechanisms properly maintained and working to reduce emissions.

I've pointed out elsewhere that there are ways to shut down these awful damaging methods by hitting the producers in the pocket book, showing that there are no oil and gas present in the areas being surveyed.

We have techniques that will do that, if they are applied properly, and strategically.

We have ways to switch vehicles to zero emission, proper pollution control, but that COSTS money that the maggots who run the energy system "for massive profits" refuse to let go of a portion of it to allow for the implementation of the new technologies.

The monster continues to go on, bribing officials world wide to allow "status quo", and no fancy face talking about climate change from hydrocarbon burning is going to raise the attention of those who are in power to make a change. Their pockets are lined, and money talks, and pretty speeches do nothing to affect useful change.

People will continue to support the highly dirty oil producers from the mideast and Venezuela. Highly dirty hydrocarbon with a very nasty footprint to clean up while it is converted into fuels.

Why? Cause of the massive amounts of money that is channeled into the manipulators hands and pocket books. They do this by manipulating assets, then tossing some of the worst oils into the environment.

The Saudi mid-east oils are highly toxic, highly sulfur and contamination laden, and of course it matters not to the manipulators. It puts control (money in other words), in the hands of those who can be manipulated by the "powers that be", let's call it dark state.

They assumed that the Mid-Eastern and South American equity holders of the "crude" would easily be manipulated, or "bought off", and would comply with the "global elite" who take and give power to those those who will "comply", and likewise be "bought off" forever.. Those countries will NEVER change because of the system in place that pays them to produce.

Until that monster is addressed, screaming that OIL is BAD, COAL is BAD is lip service.

The monster is the bribery system, the control system, the manipulation system.

    references:
Canada's east coast fishing used to be great until recently - https://canadafishingindustry.weebly...t-fishery.html

Quote Until recently, the east coast waters of Canada used to be one of the world greatest fishing grounds because of the great conditions the waters had.

All of the great conditions combined created favorable waters for fish. Because of Atlantic Canada’s wide continental shelf (less than 200 meters in depth) and the shallow banks (less than 150 meters deep) within the shelf, the sun was able to penetrate to the bottom, causing a growth of plankton which attracts many fish.

The east coast’s largest and best fishing region is called the Grand Banks, which has an area of 282 500 square km. This area is bigger than the island of Newfoundland which is 111 400 square km. The growth of plankton in this area was very easy because the meeting of the warm Gulf Stream and the cold Labrador currant caused a churn up from the bottom of the ocean of essential nutrients needed for plankton’s growth.
Air-gun surveying KILLS planktons, the small krill, shrimp needed for feeding fish. Canada continues to allow air-gun surveying for oil and gas and there is no stopping them. This hypocritical practice is horrendous.

reference: US Judge says NO OFF-SHORE air gun seismic survey, period ! - https://www.ogj.com/articles/2019/01...eparation.html

We need the new energy technology here NOW, not later, and to do that the "monster" has to be dealt with. As long as that global monstrocity is allowed to persist, nothing good will come out of it.. That's where the problem resides..

Oil and gas and coal are convenient manipulation tools used to control countries by the manipulators of the markets. And weak soul'd people who hold those assets end up being bribed to "comply" with the globalist agenda.. It isn't a good one-world being proposed by those globalists.

Why the scramble for oil? Profit, money, manipulation of world governments, globalist agenda, one-world-government funding, planetwide slavery, strangleholds on air-quality and manipulation by those who withhold effective pollution cleaning technologies.

Canada loves it's tar sands. As do the trans-national corporations exploiting them.

Venezuela loves its Oronoco oil belt producing some of the worst heavy crude in the world.

    And the Mid-East..

(Lets not forget about John D. Rockefeller, the maggot who started Standard Oil in the US to exploit the resources in the US. Standard Oil Co. Inc. was an American oil producing, transporting, refining, and marketing company and monopoly. Established in 1870 by John D. Rockefeller and Henry Flagler as a corporation in Ohio, it was the largest oil refinery in the world of its time. Its history as one of the world's first and largest multinational corporations ended in 1911, when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled, in a landmark case, that Standard Oil was an illegal monopoly.)

why oil? a manipulative commodity - manipulation on how it is explored, where it is explored, who gets the kickbacks for allowing exploration by a select "in-crowd" who will cow-tow to the wishes of the globalists keeping them alive to work another day.. and who will eventually bring it up out of the ground to sell to the myriad of middle men in the loop, each getting their "share" for moving the commodity to the refinery, to the distributors, to the pipelines, to the retailers, (bolstered by dirty vehicle engines, produced by vehicle manufacturers that convince people, said methods are the only way to transport)... they all have their finger in the pie, and won't change cause its the life blood that feeds these people, and their corporations, their stock speculations and manipulations, and of course, favors are traded.

Promise them riches and they will comply - "yes master, what is your bidding? "

In the mideast it was first discovered in Iran. In 1908, oil was found near the city of Masjed Soleiman by a British prospecting team funded by William D'Arcy. He had obtained a concession from the Iranian King in 1900 for oil exploration. Of course pitch and tar was used for water-proofing, great for boats for sealing but the distillation, the refining which showed some of the more volatile properties didn't happen commercially until a use for it and a market created. Kerosene was an early use, for lamps. Thinking about the Aladdin's Lamp,, the magical Genie that would come out of it to do the bidding of those who command the contents of the Lamp.. Rockefeller knew how to distill the crude..

Prior to Rockefeller’s rise to dominance in the early 1870s, the oil refining market was highly competitive, with numerous small, enterprising “independent refiners” competing harmoniously with each other so that their customers got kerosene at reasonable prices while they made a nice living.

The British Empire though was quite busy looking at ways to control more of the Mideast in the late 1800's and the early 1900's. OIL a perfect tool to do such was used.

Oil-rich mineralogical resources first took shape in the decade prior to the First World War. In 1901 the English entrepreneur William Knox D’Arcy negotiated a concession with the Persian (Iran) Government to search for oil in its territory.

In May 1908, after seven years’ searching, oil was finally found in significant amounts at Masjed Soleyman, in the southwest corner of Persia, close to the border with Turkish Mesopotamia (now Iraq). One year later, the Anglo-Persian Oil Company (APOC) was incorporated in London.

War and profit motivates Britain - In anticipation of Britain’s plans to convert its naval fleet from coal to oil power, the company’s prospectus for investors promised that an ‘almost limitless market will be found for Fuel Oil for marine purposes' … especially on Warships.

Marked ‘secret’ by the British Government, this was the map (below) that Britain’s political agents across the Persian Gulf and Arabian peninsula had on the walls of their office, and to which they repeatedly referred to in correspondence.

D'Arcy had obtained a license to explore for oil in Persia in 1901. He sent explorer George Reynolds, who searched fruitlessly for seven years.

Fresh investment from the Burmah Oil Co. had rescued the expedition financially in 1904, but with no results and D'Arcy's personal fortune completely run out, he risked losing his two country houses and his London mansion. In Persia, staff was already being dismissed. Reynolds received orders from London for his last-chance well: Drill to 1,600 feet and then stop.

Why all the fuss? The automobile was in its infancy, and few people could foresee its future. How did an investor expect to get rich off an oil strike? Well – and we really do mean well – you could run an electric-power plant with oil, you could run factory machinery on oil and, perhaps most importantly, the world's powerful navies were converting their ships from coal to oil. Almost anything that had run on coal – especially coal that heated water to create steam – could run on oil.

Power Power Power, of all kinds.. Coal needs to be converted, mechanically manipulated, while oil can be easily moved in pipelines.. Less cost, more PROFIT - and more control possible...

Reynolds. At 4 in the morning, the drill reached 1,180 feet below the desert and struck oil. A huge gusher shot 75 feet into the air.

The site was so remote that it took five days before D'Arcy got word by telegram in England. "If this is true," he replied, "all our troubles are over." It was indeed true, and more wells hit oil elsewhere in Persia, including a huge one in September.

D'Arcy and Burmah reorganized their holdings in 1909 as the Anglo-Persian Oil Co. (which became the Anglo-Iranian Oil Co. in 1935, British Petroleum in 1954 and BP in 2000.) Its initial public offering of stock shares sold out in 30 minutes in London. People stood five deep around the tellers' cages to buy shares in Glasgow. The race for oil accelerated throughout the Middle East.

At the instigation of First Lord of the Admiralty Winston Churchill, the British government became a majority (and at-first secret) shareholder of Anglo-Persian during World War I. Britain soon became a dominant power in Persian and later Iranian politics. British and American political operations in that nation shaped the developments that led to the Iranian revolution in 1979 and the current Middle Eastern power situation.

And off we go.. more power not to the people but the manipulative corporations who make the "government's politicians".. how to change that system? what a question to ask..

Another manipulative empire is created -

Those who control the cash create history and the rules, and establish what people think is valuable and useful..

Calouste Sarkis Gulbenkian (/kæˈluːst ɡʊlˈbɛŋkiən/, Western Armenian: Գալուստ Կիւլպէնկեան; 23 March 1869 – 20 July 1955) was a businessman and philanthropist of British nationality and Armenian origin.

This exploiter played a major role in making the petroleum reserves of the Middle East available to Western development and is credited with being the first person to exploit Iraqi oil.

Gulbenkian travelled extensively and lived in a number of cities including Constantinople, London, Paris, and Lisbon.

Throughout his life, Gulbenkian was involved with many philanthropic activities including the establishment of schools, hospitals, and churches. It is of note that Rockefeller used the same tactic to offset his exploitation, to somehow make it seem "right" what was being done.

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, a private foundation based in Portugal, was created in 1956 by his bequest and continues to promote arts, charity, education, and science throughout the world.

It is now among the largest foundations in Europe. By the end of his life Gulbenkian had become one of the world's wealthiest individuals and his art acquisitions one of the greatest private collections.

One arm of the globalist "family" empire, where it is derived:

Gulbenkian's family is believed to be descendants of the Rshtunis, an Armenian noble family centered around Lake Van in the 4th century AD.

In the 11th century, the Rshtunis settled in Kayseri, taking the name Vart Badrik, a Byzantine noble title. With the arrival of the Ottoman Turks, the Turkish equivalent of the name, Gülbenk, was adopted.

The family had established themselves in the town of Talas and lived in the region until the mid-1800s, when they ultimately moved to Constantinople.

Their property in Talas was ultimately confiscated and is currently owned by the Turkish government.

By 1860, his father Sarkis Gulbenkian was an Armenian oil importer/exporter already heavily involved in the oil industry.

Sarkis was an owner of several oil fields in the Caucasus, mainly in Baku, and was a representative of Alexander Mantashev's oil company.

Sarkis Gulbenkian also provided oil to the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire.

Royal Dutch Shell, one of the most awful aberrations world-wide, responsible for the most horrendous 60 year plus oil spills in Nigeria has its beginnings:

By 1895, he started his oil operation business. He had to return to the Ottoman Empire, but in 1896, Gulbenkian and his family fled the empire due to the Hamidian massacres of Armenians.

They ended up in Egypt, where Gulbenkian met Alexander Mantashev, a prominent Armenian oil magnate and philanthropist.

Mantashev introduced Gulbenkian to influential contacts in Cairo.

These new acquaintances included Evelyn Baring, 1st Earl of Cromer.

Still in his twenties, Gulbenkian moved to London in 1897 where he arranged deals in the oil business.

He became a naturalised British citizen in 1902. In 1907, he helped arrange the merger of Royal Dutch Petroleum Company with "Shell" Transport and Trading Company Ltd. Gulbenkian emerged as a major shareholder of the newly formed company, Royal Dutch Shell.

His policy of retaining five percent of the shares of the oil companies he developed earned him the nickname "Mr. Five Percent".

Taking over oil in Iraq, Mesopotamia -

In 1912 Gulbenkian was the driving force behind the creation of the Turkish Petroleum Company (TPC)—a consortium of the largest European oil companies aimed at cooperatively procuring oil exploration and development rights in the Ottoman territory of Mesopotamia, while excluding other interests.

The German interests would be limited to a 25% share, with a 35% for the British, and the remaining for Gulbenkian to choose.

So, he gave Royal Dutch Shell 25% and kept 15% for himself as "the conceiver, the founder, and the artisan of the Turkish Petroleum combine."

A promise of these rights was made to the TPC, but the onset of World War I interrupted their efforts.

Sharing and splitting the spoils of OIL - who has their fingers in the PIE:

At first, the British Foreign Office supported the d'Arcy group to gain a share and replace Calouste's share, but Gulbenkian worked closely with French concerns, arranged for the French to receive the German's share as part of the spoils of victory, and, in return, the French protected his interest. (here we see the inroads eventually leading into eastern Canada)..

During the dismantling of the Ottoman Empire after the war, most of Ottoman Syria came under the French Mandate for Syria and the Lebanon and most of Ottoman Iraq came under British mandate. Heated and prolonged negotiations ensued regarding which companies could invest in the Turkish Petroleum Company.

The TPC was granted exclusive oil exploration rights to Mesopotamia in 1925. The discovery of a large oil reserve at Baba Gurgur provided the impetus to conclude negotiations and in July 1928 an agreement, called the "Red Line Agreement", was signed which determined which oil companies could invest in TPC and reserved 5% of the shares for Gulbenkian.

The name of the company was changed to the Iraq Petroleum Company in 1929.

The Pasha had actually given Gulbenkian the entire Iraqi oil concession.

In the early 1900's Gulbenkian established numerous holding companies, spanning Canada, Venezuela, Hong Kong, Panama and Lichtenstein.

British Petroleum firmly embeds its hooks into Canada

what a tangled web is woven - mergers acquisitions, take-overs... (can one look for any bribes, er, political contributions? along the way?)

Through the 1998 acquisition of the global operations of Amoco (formerly Standard Oil of Indiana) by British Petroleum, BP Canada acquired the assets of former major Canadian oil and gas companies, including Dome Petroleum and Hudson's Bay Oil and Gas Company.

The heritage traces back through a history of joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions to the year 1926, when the oldest commercial corporation in North America, Hudson's Bay Company, co-founded Hudson's Bay Oil and Gas Company (HBOG) with Marland Oil Company.

Later, Marland oil merged with Conoco in 1929. HBOG expanded during the 1940s and 50s, and in 1960 began shipping Canadian crude to a refinery in Billings, Montana through a new link to the Glacier pipeline. Here we see Canada's interests in PIPELINES being established, and becoming well dug in and entrenched. Pipelines to refineries means $$$ to be had.

The company became the sixth-largest Canadian producer in 1967.

In 1973, HBOG acquired 35% stake in Siebens Oil and Gas, but by 1979 it divested its interest.

In 1980, HBOG bought a controlling interest in Roxy Petroleum. In the 1980s, sales and oil prices slipped, while debt from acquisitions piled up which led Hudson's Bay Company to sell off its 52.9% stake in HBOG to Dome Petroleum.

However, as a result of the 1986 drop in world oil prices (this was a planned manipulation to get rid of ANY small operators and producers) and substantial debts from past takeovers, Dome Petroleum became an acquisition target.

In November 1987, after months of negotiation, an agreement in principle was reached with Amoco Canada Petroleum Co Ltd for buying Dome for US$5.5 billion.

The purchase was completed on 1 September 1988.

In 1998–2000, the operations of Amoco, ARCO and Burmah Castrol were amalgamated.

Into the 2000s, BP Canada operated primarily as a producer of natural gas and employed more than 2000 employees.

The company partnered with Imperial Oil beginning in 2010, to carry out exploration of two of its offshore oil and gas blocks in the Beaufort Sea. Those areas were developed by using OFF-SHORE seismic operations to take a look at what might be useful to drill and exploit.

Beaufort sea extends also west and north of Alaska.

During 2010 and 2011, BP Canada sold its natural gas operations as part of divestments following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. This "spill" was a major serious disaster with long term consequences leading to loss of life, and a major set of new rules being created to deal with irresponsible companies attempting off-shore drilling and production.

It sold its natural gas business in Alberta and British Columbia to Apache Corporation in July 2010 and its Canadian natural gas liquids business to a subsidiary of Plains All American Pipeline in December 2011.

BP's Deepwater Horizon disaster in the US Gulf of Mexico harmed many people (there is a section on this Forum detailing that), leading to one of the most current oil spills in US history.. HOWEVER the Royal Dutch Shell experience of massive pollution in Nigeria (in the Delta State) remains probably the largest and most awful.

Eager to find new resources - a prime buyer of off-shore licenses derived from highly damaging air-gun seismic:

The company operates primarily in Alberta, the Northwest Territories, and Nova Scotia. (see the OP about the exploration off the coast in the Fisheries areas)

As of 2012, BP Canada has approximately 450 employees. It purchases crude oil for the company's refineries in the US, has oil sands holdings in Alberta and four offshore blocks in the Beaufort Sea and Nova Scotia.

The company's oil sands leases include joint ventures with Husky Energy in the Sunrise Energy Project (50%), and Devon Energy in Pike, and a partnership with Value Creation Inc.

In the development of the Terre de Grace oil sands lease, the Sunrise oil sands project entered the development phase in 2012. As of 2012, the Pike project, was in the regulatory approval phase, and the Terre de Grace project was in the resource appraisal phase.

key words: OIL = money, power, exploitation, manipulation, slavery - historically it's roots can be traced back to see where the dark state has spread. Just want to scream about 2 degrees rise in temperature? Blame it on hydrocarbon burning, or find the real reasons... or really find what is causing the overall darkness. Come to terms and create the right solutions, with that if one wants a real new world.

WOW BOB that's a lot of history... And very telling.

I think some are waking up to the fact than NONE of this needs to be happening, and yet they're feeling helpless to fix it. We have grown accustomed to the ways of the world, and it has to stop ...

Those of us awake, see even the NEW technologies as a joke. They want to profit as much as they can, making crap that is being trickle fed that is already outdated, convincing us that we need it to keep up with the Joneses.. And people eat it up further enslaving themselves to the system.

Those that DO, end up breaking away and starting pocket areas of resistance to this, are infiltrated and end up behaving in cult like ways.. We will eventually plunder this planet for all of it's resources and quickly realize we NEED to leave just to live.. And that isn't going to be so easy when we realize that other civilizations have probably done the same things, all in the name of GREED..

I just don't get it. People need to step back and think for themselves, yet they're too busy to, too arrogant to admit they may have it wrong, and too greedy to let go. I cringe.

    ¤=[Post Update]=¤

Elon Musk and BATTERY cars and powerblocks for houses. UGH... Just another joke... I am sorry but we have better...

And what I wonder is going to charge up those electric musk cars? California's last remaining nuclear plant (The last remaining nuclear power plant in California will go offline, starting in 2024), or the coal fired power stations? California buys power from neighboring States too.

Somebody is profiting taking attention off the power manipulation, and using slight of hand to create a financial empire that seems "green" - hardly is the electric car industry green when the nature of the charging system uses existing monstrocities and bolsters a few select slight of hand cash manipulators..

ref: https://www.scientificamerican.com/a...ssarily-clean/ - your 'lectric car is only as clean and green as the power industry that charges it..

Quote pollutants from the power-plant's smokestacks: many of those eyesores attached to coal-fired power plants, are the single-largest source of greenhouse gas pollution in the U.S., at two billion metric tons of CO2 per year. That source would grow as electric cars demand more and more electricity, unless tighter pollution controls are placed on power plants or electric utilities

(see it's even green ! everyone needs to buy one - Musk would be in heaven if they did ! Or wait, his TESLA ROADSTER already IS (launched in space from all those great profits !! )

    Isn't advertising wonderful ??

Wow, watch the video.. Green emphasis eh? Off to the Stars !

What does the Falcon Heavy rocket use as a fuel?

The current fuel for Falcon Heavy is RP-1 (a refined kerosene) and liquid oxygen, which creates a lot of carbon dioxide when burnt.

Kinda makes ya wonder about how the slight of hand works, how $$$ are lured away from people interested in the environment and into someone's pockets.. (hmmm)

ref: Currently, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) relies on two coal-fired power plants — Intermountain Power Plant in Delta, Utah and the Navajo Generating Station in northern Arizona — for about 39 percent of its power.

Since 2000, the world has doubled its coal-fired power capacity to 2,000 gigawatts (GW) after explosive growth in China and India

Over all, NEW plants - 1,600 coal plants are planned or under construction in 62 countries, according to Urgewald's tally, which uses data from the Global Coal Plant Tracker portal. The new plants would expand the world's coal-fired power capacity by 43 percent.

Juicing up the "green electric car" - the ultimate source of your mains electricity is likely to be decided by the country you live in. Electric car drivers in Norway will mostly be using hydroelectric power (comparable to the "wind" category in the EU study); those in France, chiefly nuclear, and those in Germany and the UK, a mix of fossil and renewable, broadly comparable with the "EU-mix" figures.

In the United States, the electricity source varies regionally; California uses a lot of renewables, while areas in the north-east are more likely to use fossil fuels including coal.

Pollution in making the electric car: A report by the Ricardo consultancy estimated that production of an average petrol car will involve emissions amounting to the equivalent of 5.6 tonnes of CO2, while for an average electric car, the figure is 8.8tonnes. Of that, nearly half is incurred in producing the battery.

    How the world produces juice:

No we don't. THEY have better. We must find a way to wrest 'free energy' from TPTB. I put quote marks on free energy because although zero point energy may be free, the equipment to access it may turn out to be expensive whenever and if ever it becomes commonly available.

I would much rather spending the money to tap natural free energy devices than pollute and destroy this beautiful planet. You're right they're out there. But getting them is going to take a miracle.. That's the worst part, KNOWING and knowing that we just can't get to it collectively.

I meant WE as a planetary group... But you're right it is THEIRS to hide because money talks.. And power forces greed and subversion. (Is that the word I was looking for?) What I meant was someone has invented this stuff, over and over, and it is bought up and shelved. So sad the state this planet is in.

    Yes Bob,

Canada is indeed a very stupid country. We tax carbon, while federal politicians (and Albertans) push to build pipelines. But that's not the only stupid thing we do. Oh, I could go on and on. I will spare you.
