Default Glyphosate Worse than We Could Imagine. “It’s Everywhere”

I don't think we need to wonder where the cancer is coming from, let alone

autism which is now .. 1 in 59 children in the U.S.A.

Remember Monsanto is a off chute of I.G. Farben .. Nazi Germany W.W. 2.

I.G. Farben was the biggest chemical and agriculture company in the world.
    ====================================================

"What is becoming clearer is the colossal and obviously deliberate official blind eye given to potential dangers of glyphosate-based pesticides by regulatory bodies not only in the EU and the USA, but also in China, which today produces more glyphosate than even Monsanto. Since the Monsanto Roundup patent expired, Chinese companies, including Syngenta, Zhejiang Xinan Chemical Industrial Group Company, SinoHarvest, and Anhui Huaxing Chemical Industry Company, have emerged as the world’s major producers of the chemical as well as largest consumers, a not good omen for the future of the legendary Chinese cuisine. Glyphosate Worse than We Could Imagine. “It’s Everywhere”

Glyphosate residues have been found in tap water, orange juice, children’s urine, breast milk, chips, snacks, beer, wine, cereals, eggs, oatmeal, wheat products, and most conventional foods tested. It’s everywhere, in brief.

As new studies continue to point to a direct link between the widely-used glyphosate herbicide and various forms of cancer, the agribusiness lobby fights ferociously to ignore or discredit evidence of human and other damage. A second US court jury case just ruled that Monsanto, now a part of the German Bayer AG, must pay $ 81 million in damages to plaintiff Edwin Hardeman who contracted non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer. The ruling and a line-up of another 11,000 pending cases in US courts going after the effects of glyphosate, have hit Bayer AG hard with the company announcing several thousand layoffs as its stock price plunges.

In a trial in San Francisco the jury was unanimous in their verdict that Monsanto Roundup weed-killer, based on glyphosate, had been responsible for Hardeman’s cancer. His attorneys stated,

“It is clear from Monsanto’s actions that it does not care whether Roundup causes cancer, focusing instead on manipulating public opinion and undermining anyone who raises genuine and legitimate concerns about Roundup.”

It is the second defeat for the lawyers of Monsanto after another jury ruled in 2018 that Glyphosate-based Roundup was responsible for the cancer illness of a California school grounds-keeper who contracted the same form of cancer after daily spraying school grounds with Roundup over years, unprotected. There a jury found Monsanto guilty of “malice and oppression” in that company executives, based on internal email discovery, knew that their glyphosate products could cause cancer and suppressed this information from the public.

A new independent study shows that those with highest exposure to glyphosate have a 41% increased risk of developing non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) cancer. A meta-analysis of six studies containing nearly 65,000 participants looked at links between glyphosate-based herbicides and immune-suppression, endocrine disruption and genetic alterations. The authors found “the same key finding: exposure to GBHs (glyphosate-based herbicides) are associated with an increased risk of NHL (Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma).” Further, they stated that glyphosate “alters the gut microbiome,” and that that could “impact the immune system, promote chronic inflammation, and contribute to the susceptibility of invading pathogens.” Glyphosate also ”may act as an endocrine disrupting chemical because it has been found recently to alter sex hormone production” in both male and female rats.

In a long-term animal study by French scientists under Gilles Eric Seralini, Michael Antoniou and associates, it was demonstrated that even ultra-low levels of glyphosate herbicides cause non-alcoholic liver disease. The levels the rats were exposed to, per kg of body weight, were far lower than what is allowed in our food supply. According to the Mayo Clinic, today, after four decades or more pervasive use of glyphosate pesticides, 100 million, or 1 out of 3 Americans now have liver disease. These diagnoses are in some as young as 8 years old.
Glyphosate from Monsanto’s Roundup Decimates Microbes in Soils and the Human Gut – New Science

But glyphosate is not only having alarming effects on human health. Soil scientists are beginning to realize the residues of glyphosate application are also having a possibly dramatic effect on soil health and nutrition, effects that can take years to restore.

    Killing Soils too

While most attention is understandably drawn to the human effects of exposure to glyphosate, the most widely used agriculture chemical in the world today, independent scientists are beginning to look at another alarming effect of the agrochemical– its effect on essential soil nutrients. In a study of the health of soils in the EU, the online journal Politico.eu found that the effects of spraying of glyphosate on the major crops in European agriculture is having disastrous consequences on soil health in addition to killing weeds.

Scientists at Austria’s University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna showed that casting activity of earthworms had nearly disappeared from the surface of farmland within three weeks of glyphosate application. Casting is the process of the worm pushing fertile soils to the surface as they burrow, essential for healthy soil and plant nutrition. A study at Holland’s Wageningen University of topsoil samples from more than 300 soil sites across the EU found that 83% of the soils contained 1 or more pesticide residues. Not surprisingly,

“Glyphosate and its metabolite AMPA, DDTs (DDT and its metabolites) and broad-spectrum fungicides… were the compounds most frequently found in soil samples and at the highest concentrations.”

The use of various pesticides, above all glyphosate-based ones like Roundup, has exploded over the past four decades across the EU much as across the USA. The agribusiness industry claims that this has been the key to the dramatic rise in farm crop productivity. However if we look more closely at the data, while average yields of major grains such as rice, wheat and maize have more than doubled since 1960, the use of pesticides like glyphosate-based ones has risen by 15-20-fold. Oddly enough, while the EU requires monitoring of many things, monitoring of pesticide residues in soil is not required at the EU level. Until recently the effects of heavy use of pesticides such as Roundup have been ignored in scientific research.

Evidence of soil experts is beginning to reveal clear links between use of pesticides such as glyphosate and dramatic drops in soil fertility and the collapse of microbe systems essential to healthy soil. Worms are one of the most essential.

It’s well-established that earthworms play a vital role in healthy soil nutrients. Soils lacking such are soils that deprive us of the essentials we need for healthy diets, a pandemic problem of soil depletion emerging globally over the past four decades, notably the same time frame that use of pesticides has exploded worldwide. Earthworms are beneficial as they enhance soil nutrient cycling and enhance other beneficial soil micro-organisms, and the concentration of large quantities of nutrients easily assimilable by plants.

The EU puts no limits on how much glyphosate can be put on crops even though it is established that glyphosate can kill specific fungi and bacteria that plants need to suck up nutrients in addition to its effects on earthworms. That is a major blind spot.

    Where now?

What is becoming clearer is the colossal and obviously deliberate official blind eye given to potential dangers of glyphosate-based pesticides by regulatory bodies not only in the EU and the USA, but also in China, which today produces more glyphosate than even Monsanto.

Glyphosate is the base chemical component for some 750 different brands of pesticides worldwide, in addition to Monsanto-Bayer’s Roundup. Glyphosate residues have been found in tap water, orange juice, children’s urine, breast milk, chips, snacks, beer, wine, cereals, eggs, oatmeal, wheat products, and most conventional foods tested. It’s everywhere, in brief.

Despite the overwhelming evidence, however, EU Commission bureaucrats and the USA EPA continue to ignore prudence in not banning the toxic chemical pending thorough independent investigation over longer time. If I were cynical, I would almost think this continued official support for glyphosate-based herbicides is about more than mere bureaucratic stupidity or ignorance, even more than simply corruption, though that for sure plays a role. The nutritional quality of our food chain is being systematically destroyed and it is about more than corporate agribusiness profit.

I keep thinking about how the "power that be" were going to achieve there population reduction, well it's long under way . They are going to poison us. A long process in which they make us sick and reap the rewards by taking our money on our way out. Just look around, all the money one spends on medicine, doctor appointments. How reproductive organs are targeted. Prostate cancer, thru the the roof, with no explanation, testicle cancer in young people thru the roof.

Then there's the frontal attack glyphosate in every thing , drinking water contamination across the board, but of course below levels the EPA said is safe. Our food chain contaminated, air pollution, can't think of an area that they haven't targeted.

THAT'S THE POPULATION REDUCTION THEY'RE AFTER. AND ACHIEVING.

I am not sure it's depopulation, but I consider it Western Soft-kill Communism, which allows us to swim in smug confidence pointing fingers at Eastern Hard-kill Communism that just shot you in the head.

Business of disease, industry of death, insatiable parasite, eater of minds, all those things are part and parcel of a "get rich" scheme, which has a nice way of erasing inheritance and re-distributing whatever you had. It's definitely population control, or at least major interference. Something like the Opium War continued globally.

The best medicine is avoidance of whatever they have, and then quit thinking about it. Remove the market.

We need someone to treat cuts, broken bones, etc., but most of the rest of that stuff could be discarded immediately, to everyone's benefit. Of course, if we diminished the military and the death industry, the "economy" would vanish as well, maybe then we'd see if we really have anything...not much else that I know of. Overpopulation is also more or less intentionally driven by cheap oil and electricity, so, in most respects, most of us occupy useless, extra bodies. I'm just a by-product of oil, waiting to be treated by medicine, right?

And it gets even worse...Roundup adjuvants are 9,661 times more toxic to human cells than the active ingredient glyphosate
by: Lori Alton, staff writer | April 13, 2019
    https://www.naturalhealth365.com/rou...sate-2940.html

    (Also posted here: https://projectavalon.net/forum4/show...=1#post1286398 )

"(NaturalHealth365) It’s official – glyphosate, the active ingredient in the weed-killer Roundup, has been officially linked to cancer cell growth.

Last summer, a jury awarded $289 million to a school groundskeeper for Roundup’s role in his non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma – and hundreds of lawsuits are ongoing. Now, research reveals a stunning – and dangerous – twist in the story of this toxic chemical: the “inactive” ingredients in Roundup are thousands of times more toxic than glyphosate itself.

As the most commonly-used herbicide in the world, glyphosate is routinely sprayed on food crops, lawns, roadsides, parks and playgrounds across the United States. While the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is mandated to protect the environment, natural health experts say that the agency’s customary method of studying products like Roundup do not allow for a full accounting of all the risks.

Glyphosate is not the only problem: “Inert” ingredients in pesticides are more toxic than most people think
Under FIFRA (the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act) the EPA must approve every pesticide before it can be sold or distributed in the United States. And, it can approve the chemicals only if their use won’t cause “unreasonable adverse effects” on the environment.

    Sounds reassuring,right?

Here’s the catch: the EPA tends to regulate whole formulations and mixtures, rather than isolated ingredients. So, while the EPA does test glyphosate as an active principle of Roundup, the formulation contains “inactive” or “inert” ingredients as well.

And, these are not as innocent as they sound.

A peer-reviewed study in 2006 revealed that over 500 products listed as “inert” in some products actually function as the “main ingredient” in other products – and are hazardous to human health.

And, most shocking of all – the inert ingredients need not be listed on the product label.

Shocking study: Single-pesticide testing is ‘insufficient’
In a 2013 study published in Biomedical Research International, researchers found that some Roundup additives are almost 10,000 times more toxic (9,661 times, to be exact) to human cells than glyphosate.

The researchers measured mitochondrial activities and membrane degradations to ascertain cell damage – and determined that Roundup was among the most toxic of the 9 different chemicals tested.

Disturbingly, the usual calculation of the acceptable daily intake, or ADI (the level of exposure claimed to be safe for humans over the long term) is based only on the active principle, or “main ingredient.”

It is clear that this method doesn’t accurately show the risks of chemical formulations.

Or, in the words of the researchers: “Chronic tests on pesticides may not reflect relevant environmental exposure if only one ingredient of these mixtures is tested alone.”

The synergistic effect: A new – and dangerous – wrinkle to the toxicity of “harmless” chemicals
Not only are many inert ingredients potentially harmful, but their dangers are multiplied by the principle of synergy – in which the effects of one substance are intensified by the effects of another.

Synergy becomes even more frightening when one considers that the entire purpose of adjuvants (additives) is to make the active ingredients more potent.

And, synergy appears to be quite a selling point when it comes to touting the effectiveness of weed killers like, Roundup.

A 2016 report published by the Center for Biological Diversity searched patent applications and found that 69 percent of recently-approved pesticide patent applications either claimed or demonstrated synergy between ingredients in the product.

And, 72 percent of the applications claiming or demonstrating synergy involved some of the most frequently used chemicals in the United States, including glyphosate, 2,4-D, atrazine, dicamba and the neonicotinoid pesticide imidacloprid.

Beyond Pesticides, a non-profit environmental organization, points out that the EPA does not test complete formulations for developmental or reproductive toxicity.

Almost unbelievably – chronic toxicity, neurotoxicity, carcinogenicity (potential to cause cancer) neurotoxicity, subchronic oral toxicity and inhalation toxicity are among other health effects the EPA is not obligated to test mixtures for.

The environment is at risk, as well. Beyond Pesticides maintains that the EPA does not test the toxicity of whole pesticide products to birds, aquatic life or honeybees.

Is it so surprising that colony collapse disorder is decimating the honeybee population worldwide?

UN blockbuster report: “catastrophic” use of pesticides causes up to 41 million adverse reactions and 200,000 deaths globally every year
Abundant evidence already exists regarding the harm caused by herbicides and pesticides.

In a report delivered March 8, 2017 before the UN Human Rights Council, the authors detail the adverse effects of chronic exposure to pesticides – including links to cancer, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease, hormone disruption, developmental disorders and sterility.

Co-author Hilal Elver, a renowned research professor and special UN investigator, characterizes the use of pesticides as “catastrophic,” and says that relying on them is a short-term solution that threatens the right to adequate food and health.

It should be noted that 99 percent of the poisonings took place in developing countries, which lack protection for farm workers.

The report noted the disgraceful fact that children – often forced into labor at an early age – are particularly vulnerable to the effects of pesticide contamination of food, with 23 deaths reported in India and 39 in China in 2014 alone.

The unstinting report bluntly asserts that the global pesticide/herbicide market, a $50 billion dollar a year industry, allows agrochemical companies “unprecedented power” over governments and over the scientific community – and uses “aggressive and unethical “ marketing tactics to deny and suppress the truth about its dangers.

While proponents insist that these chemicals are needed to combat global hunger, Helver shoots that down as a “myth.”

The problem is not one of production, notes Helver, but of poverty, inequality and improper distribution.

Yet Jay Feldman, executive director of Beyond Pesticides, cites the $43 billion-dollar organic food industry as proof that toxic chemicals are not required to feed people.

As the struggle against toxic herbicides and pesticides continues, one thing is abundantly clear.

Commercial agricultural products – a veritable “witches’ brew” of toxic chemicals – are not being properly tested by the EPA, the agency mandated by federal law to protect the environment and human health.

And, until individual ingredients in these toxic products are tested, this dangerous situation will continue.

Thanks for a great thread, ramus. I have been thinking about the practice of desiccating wheat with glyphosate before harvesting. The goal is to dry the wheat out to prevent issues the moist harvest would have created. Actually that word "dessication" detracts from what is really happening to the wheat. They are actually killing the wheat before harvesting. They are stopping its biological functions before harvesting. Granted, much of the wheat that is used is hulled and processed to the point it has little nutritional value, but the idea that they have actually poisoned it before harvesting is madness. Any of us who have fooled ourselves by thinking we can just wash it off are in a dreamland. That stuff works by its ability to be absorbed into the plant. I remember reading about a Monsanto exec who said glyphosate was safe enough to drink...

What I am noticing about what I previously assumed was my gluten intolerance is really glyphosate intolerance in consuming wheat products in America. I have no reaction to wheat products I consume in Europe or Australia where the dessication process must not be in effect yet.

Yes your right, what i have thought for a while is that glyphosate destroys the flora and fauna in the digestive track. This makes you think it's the wheat itself you're intolerant to. It's the poison in the wheat that's the problem. Now there is a huge industry built around gluten intolerance . $$$$$ Why stop that !

Yes, others have reported they have no reaction to wheat grown in Europe, unlike that grown in the US, even to US organic wheat (due to the drift factor re spraying, no doubt), wheat which causes similar symptoms as gluten intolerance.

What I am noticing about what I previously assumed was my gluten intolerance is really glyphosate intolerance in consuming wheat products in America. I have no reaction to wheat products I consume in Europe or Australia where the dessication process must not be in effect yet.
