    Default Hegelian dialectic and Trump

Are the liberal run media and Trump opposite poles of a Hegelian dialectic process that is allowing more aggressive programming/compromise of the American public?

I hate how nutty this question makes me sound but I am genuinely concerned about this matter! Thanks

This will make me sound nutty too.

I think it all depends on who blinks first. What you describe will surely happen if Trumpism blinks first.

It's pretty plain that the media is encouraging people in the US to divide into 2 camps. But it seems global now, as in the 60s. And the programming opportunity that presents itself is one of extremism and militancy. The CIA has a history of starting social protest movements using college students. And since the 60s, this has gone on around the world in various places. It gives them options such as police state crackdown or socialist policies which all lead to stronger govt and a crackdown on individuality. Good cop/bad cop. Shepherds herding sheep in one direction from two flanks.

I don't find the proposal to be nutty in the least. The question may arise whether it is intentional or not, but the fact that Trump inspires extreme reactions from the Left, who then call out for various authoritarian solutions can't be denied. Some people just like causing strong reactions in people because they can. Others pulling the strings may have chosen Trump for his ability to do that, or he may himself desire and then accomplish this orchestration.
There's no time like the present.

The funny thing is, if we all just stop letting our strings be pulled and focus on our intrinsic core values none of this BS would be happening the way it is. But we sit here on our hands waiting for something external to fix it for us.

"Just as soon as <insert conservatives or libs/dems here - whichever fits your view> gets voted <in/out> finally all will be better!!" -- this logic has been failing for hundreds of years - its not suddenly going to get better, lol.

while the pendulum swings back and forth and the partisan puppet show continues, in its attempt to hypnotise us , to distract us from the fundamental truth, that mostly they are corrupted to the core.

That we are marching in one direction, consistently, and its not towards democracy, peace and justice. Whatever political shade happens to be in government the following processes seem to continue inexorably :

    - saddling tax payers with interest bearing debt which consists of ones and zeros, that we are capable of producing for ourselves.

    - Destruction of any political systems resisting this

    - Saddling medical systems with remedies that are as expensive as possible, and hopefully do not work, or only slightly

    - Building a system of tyranny that discredits any alternative options to the above

    - entrenching corporate power in treaties where the proceedings are usually conducted in secret, with the governments/ tax payers as the victims

    - corporate sequestration of all valuable resources on the planet

    - creating governmental mechanisms above nations (such as treaties and economic communities etc) that allow the corporate world to impose its will on citizens, because the new structures do not include democratic checks and balances

-the tyranny of technological surveillance of everybody, always

    - the tyranny of narrative control in the media, by shady interest groups

    - the tyranny of the trivialisation of our cultures, create shallow people by pushing shallow culture

    and on and on.

There is hope, because if people wake up to the tyrannies behind the puppet show, they are likely to vote for representatives who voice these concerns. If those people betray their own words it is important that their careers suffer at the hands of voters

Why do we assume there are only two players (camps) in the whole spiel?

Really, the biggest thing that we can hope for from the Trump presidency is unintended positive consequences, and the fact that trump prevented killary from becoming president is one benefit already. His presidency has further polarized the American electorate, even within his own party.

The hegelian dialectic is certainly at work here. It's interesting that the American two party system is devised along a hegelian model, so it's not a surprise that the polarization is happening the way it is.

There is an algorithm or agenda programming humans to divide, both internally and externally so they fight and lie to themselves and others apparently! I mean to say I watch that play out everyday!Besides this there appears now to be a transgender program added to it.

    wiki:
Quote According to Kant, however, the ancient Greeks used the word "dialectic" to signify the logic of false appearance or semblance. To the Ancients, "it was nothing but the logic of illusion. It was a sophistic art of giving to one's ignorance, indeed even to one's intentional tricks, the outward appearance of truth, by imitating the thorough, accurate method which logic always requires, and by using its topic as a cloak for every empty assertion."[6
This is our political process in the modern world summed up by my favorite philosopher...

The ancient Greeks were not of a single mind.
Kant is almost incomprehensible, because he was forced to twist words constantly, being afraid of his works burned by the church.

Bottom line: He was "critical" of the church doctrine having the monopoly over human thoughts.

    Default Hate Inc.

This morning I came across a comment on a blog that spoke of the fractured nature of public discourse and how it is being deliberately fomented through media:
Quote We have become divided along such stringent Manichean lines of liberal/conservative, Democrat/Republican that the sole response of one side to the other seems to be limited to contempt and hatred. (See Matt Taibbi’s new book (Hate, Inc) for an account of the media’s roll in fermenting hatred and violence throughout American culture).
I found the following useful summary of Taibbi’s thinking on this media manipulation:
Quote Matt Taibbi’s Ten Rules of Hate
    Erich Vieth, November 4, 2018

Here’s something almost everyone can agree about: Dysfunctional public discourse is ubiquitous. What is feeding it? There are many ideas out there, but one that I find compelling is that the mass media has adopted “Dysfunctional public discourse” as its favorite method of providing us with “news.” Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone boils down his criticisms into the form of “Ten Rules of Hate.”

First, here is an excerpt from his article:
Quote We’ve discovered we can sell hate, and the more vituperative the rhetoric, the better. This also serves larger political purposes.
So long as the public is busy hating each other and not aiming its ire at the more complex financial and political processes going on off-camera, there’s very little danger of anything like a popular uprising.
That’s not why we do what we do. But it is why we’re allowed to operate this way. It boggles the mind that people think they’re practicing real political advocacy by watching any major corporate TV channel, be it Fox or MSNBC or CNN. Does anyone seriously believe that powerful people would allow truly dangerous ideas to be broadcast on TV? The news today is a reality show where you’re part of the cast: America vs. America, on every channel.
The trick here is getting audiences to think they’re punching up, when they’re actually punching sideways, at other media consumers just like themselves, who just happen to be in a different silo. Hate is a great blinding mechanism. Once you’ve been in the business long enough, you become immersed in its nuances. If you can get people to accept a sequence of simple, powerful ideas, they’re yours forever. The Ten Rules of Hate.
Here are Taibbi’s Ten Rules, but I highly recommend reading the entire article:
    1. THERE ARE ONLY TWO IDEAS – Republican and Democrat, liberal and conservative. Boolean political identities.
    2. THE TWO IDEAS ARE IN PERMANENT CONFLICT
    3. HATE PEOPLE, NOT INSTITUTIONS
    4. EVERYTHING IS SOMEONE ELSE’S FAULT (“The overwhelming majority of “controversial news stories” involve simple partisan narratives cleaved quickly into hot-button talking points. Go any deeper and you zoom off the flow chart”).
    5. NOTHING IS EVERYONE’S FAULT (“If both parties have an equal or near-equal hand in causing a social problem, we typically don’t cover it.”)
    6. ROOT, DON’T THINK (“By the early 2000s, TV stations had learned to cover politics exactly as they covered sports, a proven profitable format. The presidential election especially was reconfigured into a sports coverage saga.”)
    7. NO SWITCHING TEAMS (“Being out of touch with what the other side is thinking is now no longer seen as a fault. It’s a requirement.”)
    8. THE OTHER SIDE IS LITERALLY HITLER
    9. IN THE FIGHT AGAINST HITLER, EVERYTHING IS PERMITTED. (“If the other side is literally Hitler, this eventually has to happen. It would be illogical to argue anything else. What began as America vs. America will eventually move to Traitor vs. Traitor, and the show does not work if those contestants are not offended to the point of wanting to kill one another.”)
    10. FEEL SUPERIOR. (“We’re mainly in the business of stroking audiences. We want them coming back. Anger is part of the rhetorical promise, but so are feelings righteousness and superiority.”)
    From: https://dangerousintersection.org/20...rules-of-hate/

And here are the original articles where Taibbi outlines his ideas:
