Fascinating topic. Never ceases to amaze me. Beautiful website!

Here‘s more prehistoric art from Tassili N‘Ajjer, a range of mountains in Algeria in the Sahara Desert (Henri Lhote). It contains some 15,000 ancient cave drawings some of which are up to 10,000 years old. Some of the carvings are a bit strange.

    from the Kimberly region, Australia:

Bradshaw figures (regarded as the oldest figurative paintings in the world) superimposed over a kangaroo and snake. Drawn by Joseph Bradshaw in April 1891. Backburning has since largely destroyed the original painting.

    Hi Matt
I enjoyed the photos, thanks for posting a link to your site. I am just curious. What makes you do this? Was there an incident that prompted to start down the UFO road or some other reason?
    Thanks

No incident. Just been interested in UFOs since a child. Then got back into the subject as an adult.

Hi all, some of you may remember my site ufoartwork.com which looked at evidence for UFOs/ETs in ancient art. Well after a long hiatus I have resurrected it. Now known as www.ufoartwork.co.uk

    Regards Matt hurley
Keep up the good work Matt...

This thread will explain why the theory of UFO's in religious art is completely false.
Keep up the good work Crimson.... but this didn't explain that its "completely false."

I've amended the second paragraph on my first post in this thread to accurately better describe my thoughts Webz, thank's for the pointer.

And Matt, I'm sorry if it seems that I jumped-up and on your thread and fine work........ That was not my intention at all. I've checked-out your site, a few times, and you've done some great work there.

    Many thanks.

"Incorrect" is still an opinion, as most "counter intel"
doesn't explain what inspired the painters initially -
the origin might have been unknown objects in the sky.

If you looked at the strict rules the artists' had to adhere to it would become quiet clear. They were commissioned by the church, religious leaders, et al, to produce these works, not much room for artistic flair and inflexible rules governing the 'how' and 'what' that was to be represented.

Once this is understood, the 'strange' objects in the sky, the 'other-worldly' items seen, begin to make a lot more sense.

I am only speaking about religious art. The many cases of cave paintings, clay figurines and the like, I have no idea.

Coin design is art. These ancient coins have outrageous designs I don't think the Church allowed.
