Default Modern music with classical style

I found this by chance the other day. It struck me as unusual, evocative and just gorgeous.

    The one as well. Gorgeous.

Please post your favorite classical and or modern with classical style music here!

    Thanks!

    Intranuclear,

Music is the language of the heart. Thank you. Your Aria warms my soul. I will listen to the whole thing later today.

Here is another one. Barber's Adagio for Strings.

Those are great pieces Frankstein. I detect a touch of Klezmer music in the first two but may be imagining it. It looked to me like the musical score was for a film about leaving home or being forced to leave Europe, the Jewish experience? That's why I say I don't know if the Klezmer touch is my imagination or not.

The last one shows what you can do with very little!

Could be, I'm sure she has taken influences from many--Eleni Karaindrou composes foreign film soundtracks as well as modern classical work.

Another example of her different sounds--

I love her music, Frankstien. She's a great find!

Here is another classical composer of the modern era, a bit further back but close enough to be considered modern, just as Eric Satie and deBussey would qualify as more or less modern, in terms of classical sound.

Khachaturian's most famous piece, and we have all heard it somewhere!

Very nice. The first piece reminds me a bit of Dmitri Dmitriyevich Shostakovich. I love Claude Debussy and Eric Satie's work. I also like the
modern composers like Elliot Carter, are you familiar with him?
