Default What would you do ? If you get the chance for meeting God ?

Well, as @petra has already suggested, my question that I have already asked in the thread "The Question of God and the Nature of God" is worth a thread of its own. So I ask the question again.

What would you do if you had the chance to meet God? Would you stand in front of him and ask God questions about what concerns you? As an example, what the hell are you? Who are you? Are you almighty? Why do you let people suffer? Why do you allow wars? Why are you so suffering to the little kids? What is the meaning of your being? Why are you there if you do not help? Would you ask such questions to God?

Would you have the courage to ask such questions? Or would you be afraid of God? If we believe the religions, then God is omnipotent. So it could be when you ask him such questions, he gets angry and banishes our soul into a cell forever?

I only speak for myself now and what I would do if I met God. I would not be afraid of him, I would certainly ask questions if he bugs me. But what I would really do is tell God that the time is here that he makes an exit. I would tell him to leave his throne and free the place. It's about time someone else gets the chance to play God.

I would suggest that he choose a person, creature, man / woman who takes his place. He should hand over his power, his knowledge, his abilities, everything we think God does. Then he can leave for another universe.

    May God be with him.

    Many Thx @petra

My God told me to look within if I ever wanted to meet up and have a chat. That advice has worked very well for the last 40 years.

Default Re: What would you do ? If you get the chance for meeting God ?

Reminds me of this famous koan by Linji Yixuan, "If you meet the Buddha, kill him."

Here is an interpretation of what this means:
How Do You Kill a Buddha?

This particular koan has caught on in the West, for some reason, and has been interpreted in many different ways. One version of it popped up in a discussion of violence in Buddhism; someone believed Linji was being literal (hint: he wasn't).

Many other interpretations abound. In a 2006 essay called "Killing the Buddha," author and neuroscientist Sam Harris wrote,
"The ninth-century Buddhist master Lin Chi is supposed to have said, 'If you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him.' Like much of Zen teaching, this seems too cute by half, but it makes a valuable point: to turn the Buddha into a religious fetish is to miss the essence of what he taught. In considering what Buddhism can offer the world in the twenty-first century, I propose that we take Lin Chi’s admonishment rather seriously. As students of the Buddha, we should dispense with Buddhism."
Is that what Master Linji meant by "killing the Buddha?" Zen records tell us that Linji was a fierce and uncompromising teacher of the Buddha Dharma, famous for instructing his students with shouts and blows. These were not used as punishment but to shock the student into dropping meandering, sequential thought and to bring him into the pure clarity of the present moment.

Linji also once said, "'Buddha' means pureness of the mind whose radiance pervades the entire dharma realm." If you are familiar with Mahayana Buddhism, you will recognize that Linji is talking about Buddha Nature, which is the fundamental nature of all beings. In Zen, it's generally understood that "When you meet the Buddha, kill him" refers to "killing" a Buddha you perceive as separate from yourself because such a Buddha is an illusion.

In Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind (Weatherhill, 1970), Shunryu Suzuki Roshi said,
"Zen master will say, 'Kill the Buddha!' Kill the Buddha if the Buddha exists somewhere else. Kill the Buddha, because you should resume your own Buddha nature."
Kill the Buddha if the Buddha exists somewhere else. If you meet the Buddha, kill the Buddha. In other words, if you encounter a "Buddha" separate from yourself, you are deluded.

So, although Sam Harris wasn't entirely wrong when he said one should "kill" a Buddha that is a "religious fetish," Linji probably would have punched him anyway. Linji is telling us not to objectify anything — not Buddha, and not the self. To "meet" the Buddha is to be stuck in dualism.

I think I'm more younger (maybe last 30 years for sure), and I'm glad to have more members here that speaks "the language" that I know relatively well.

I'm kind of afraid to talk about this God subject here in this forum, but nevertheless I hide my way of thinking, which results in the same direction and sense as Billy said for us.

not to extend me too much, I complement with an old teaching, almost certain that Billy doesn't disagree -- Know Yourself and You Will Know God

Wise words .. thanks to christian .. however, don't need to call him Bhudda, because we don't need give a name to God.

I would ask the question "What must I do to maintain alignment with Source?"
My goal is to feel good. I suspect that alignment and clear communication are what I need.

Default Re: What would you do ? If you get the chance for meeting God ?

How you act towards God depends on what form he is in when you meet him, at least it does for me. For about 6-7 years I was leaving my body, travelling on different dimensions several nights a week, up to merging with Source/God fairly often. When I merge with him I have no questions because I become him and participate in the creation which is going on at all times and since you know everything God knows there is no need for questions.

Then I had one time when I was taken up to some other dimension by God and he showed me the entire line of the Sikh gurus for the last several hundred years (that I was involved with) all at once. It was obvious that they were not truthful or knowledgeable and were all "sinners", often dealing with the evil powers. God told me that I had to take my family, sell the home we built on 50 acres, move...and never do that meditation again where I left my body. So the next morning I told my husband what happened and we did sell our property very quickly, we moved...and never did that meditation again.

The most recent time God spoke to me was 3 years ago. I had just sold our home in Washington state in one week, was looking for a house on the Oregon Coast late at night online, and God said in a rather firm, loud audible voice "You must move to West Virginia"! My husband is from WV and I had no intention of EVER moving there. So I argued with God in my usual rather disrespectful manner but he didn't stop saying it and it got more and more commanding. I asked him why but he wouldn't say anything but the command that we must move to WV. About the 5th or 6th time he said it I finally said OK. So the next morning I told my husband what happened and he was happy because unbeknownst to me he always wanted to move back to WV. So we moved here and I now love it!

I also met Jesus but until a week ago I did not consider myself a Christian. I had started watching videos on YouTube and found myself drawn towards a particular preacher who has a healing ministry where they now heal thousands of people a month. That was exciting to me. While watching these videos I found myself drawn towards accepting Jesus Christ as my Savior. My husband's brother who is a preacher here in WV, told me that I didn't have to be officially baptized, so I just talked directly to Jesus and accepted him. When I woke up the next morning I was filled with the energy of Christ. I couldn't stop crying for several hours...in joy, not sorrow. The energy was so intense it was amazing!

I find it rather amusing that I waited until I am 72 years old to accept that Jesus truly is the son of God and our Savior and also God. I've watched so many videos of even Muslims who have met Jesus and converted to Christianity, even though it's a death sentence for them if they leave Islam. Also videos of people from other religions and atheists and agnostics. It seems that the energy of God/Christ is growing right now as the world becomes more negative. None of these people from Islam EVER meet Mohammed (that I have seen or heard of) in a spiritual experience, only Christ or God. I haven't seen anyone from any other religion say that they've met their prophets but many of them meet Jesus and are excited to become Christians. In all my travels I did meet many powerful beings who "claimed" to be gods, rulers, etc. but after a couple of months of leaving my body I was filled with the love of God and it was the most powerful protection. I was being dragged down to hell by some ugly demon creature and I finally gave up and said to God "whatever is your will". That was when he filled me with the Love. From then on I was totally protected on all dimensions. God is Love and nothing can stand against it.

Anyhow, I am now a very happy Christian after decades of participating in new age practices, Sikh meditation, majik practices, etc etc.

To 'meet' God implies proximity; arriving in the company of; coming face to face with. But God is not a person, not a separateness, whose audience you are by some special privilege granted access to. He/She/It is all things. The Is-ness. The All-ness. The infiniteness. For all time. There is never a time where you are not in God's immediate proximity. You are, by virtue of existing, already face to face with God. You are, by virtue of existing, with, beside, in, and of, God. Ask whatever you wish any time you wish. Learning how to listen... Now that's the real trick.

If the separation from God is an illusion then all we need is good communication to have a meeting.

I've had some dreams of Jesus (or an imposter) and I sensed a wonderful sense of humor.

I suspect that we all are extensions of Source energy on Prime Creator's eternal journey of creation and self discovery.

Whatever path you are on that feels good is the right path for you.

NancyV I certainly relate to your post, once the acceptance of Jesus Christ into your being, you are never the same....the Pure Love, and Energy is beyond this earthly realm. For me this is the REAL deal....Like you when it happened to me, I cried and rejoiced and wanted to share it with others.

Hi Nancy, after seeing how many years youve been at this, i'm puzzled that one of your your final moves on this grand chess board of life seems to be a come to jesus moment. Isn't that kind of like giving up on the whole search and, putting the ultimate answers in son one elses hands?

It is a koan, the only question worth asking is to question the existence of the questioner.

Ask him the same question. Oh God, and what shall I do ?

    Now that I met you,
may I invite you for bottle of wine
since that’s going to be unforgettable evening

Then hope he won’t say no

    Hi Gracy,

I would have had that exact thought during all those years, but when you find something that you KNOW is truth it's hard to not believe it. But yes, I no longer have to search, however it is not like putting myself in someone else's hands as when you accept Jesus he works through you and you are supposed to have the same "abilities, understandings, etc." as he does. All the awesomely blissful and incredible experiences I've had in my life pale in comparison to my recent accepting of Jesus. Since we truly are ONE with God and Jesus we are actually putting ourselves in our own ultimate most powerful "hands".

Well, it seems that Avalon is flush with wise and wonderful, godly souls who know the ultimate truth. In my instance I was wide awake watching the sunrise on the horizon of the ocean when I was snapped out of awareness of my surroundings and standing with two lighted orbs on my left while looking up at a male person, a giant, reclining on a platform, looking over the edge at me. He asked me what I wanted. Since I was 21 and away from home for the first time in my life, I replied, "A home." By then he was standing about 25 feet tall on my right and said, "I am your home, when you leave there you will return to me." I then found myself off to his right and some distance from him and have concluded that the following experience was being allowed me as a gift of encouragement in what was to be a difficult life without much love or joy. I was shown PEACE, LOVE, JOY AND THE EXPERIENCE OF ETERNAL LIFE. During this time the Earth has fled away, as it says in the bible. Then, I was returned to my reality watching the sunrise.

I did not immediately remember the experience. It is as though this "outside of time" occurrence would be dropped into my consciousness later. I had experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit and brought back Love and Joy and Forgiveness with me which lasted in its full state many months. Nevertheless, I often say to myself, "If and when I meet God again, I am going to give him a good piece of my mind about this seemingly horrible world we are forced to exist in. I am quite certain that he already knows my thoughts on the matter.
