Default The morning stars [Edgar Cayce on Reincarnation and Karma]

Edgar Cayce Visions on Reincarnation and Karma

It was during a set of philosophical questions that Edgar Cayce first began to talk about reincarnation. Eventually, this lead to an entirely new way of using Cayce's abilities that came to be know as Life Readings. The subject was examined in extensive detail and would become the second major topic examined by the sleeping Cayce.

The concept of reincarnation shocked and challenged Edgar Cayce and his family. They were deeply religious people, doing this work to help others because that's what their Christian faith taught. Reincarnation was not part of their reality.Yet, the healings and help continued to come. So, the Cayce family continued with the physical material, but cautiously reflected on the strange philosophical material. Ultimately, the Cayce's began to accept the ideas, though not as "reincarnation." Edgar Cayce preferred to call it, "The Continuity of Life." . .

I posted this elsewhere but I think it really needs a thread of its own

There has never been anyone with such a proven to be true record.
Even predictions since found to be correct.
The journey of the soul set out in other videos particular the ones depicted on hieroglyphs in Egypt.
The fall and the rising of consciousness fully explained by John Van Auken.
AND we are heading for another Golden Age--2036 if I remember correctly.
    New bodies 12 chakras.

    All cyclic.
Only a fraction of the readings here in this video.

I encourage people to look for Casey videos on U tube and post them here.

Default Re: The morning stars [Edgar Cayce on Reincarnation and Karma]

It was very educational for me when I was learning about Cayce's reincarnation and karma material. He and some of his close family members and friends went through a drastic expansion of understanding after he did a reading on himself and was told "You were once a monk."

Up until that time, most of his readings would come with holistic recommendations for someone to deal with various problems.
Like, eat 10 of these and 2 of these each day for 2 weeks and see if the problems go away.

After a period of time spent trying to verify the truth to some of the personal reincarnation information, his readings started to include spiritual reasons and advice as well. Some people would have problems explained to them as being the result of a karmic circle where there's three people in a love triangle and after each lifetime, one person wants to get back at the other two for cheating on them. Or there's an abusive father in one lifetime who now is the son, being abused, because the son was obsessed with getting back at him and is now his father in this lifetime.

What I like the most about these Cayce readings is that, once people started asking questions about other kinds of life problems that weren't necessarily health related, they started sounding a lot like Jesus' disciples did:
"Master, what did that man do that he should be born blind?"
They're asking about whether there's karma at play in a person's situation.

Reincarnation trivia. Curiosity just begs to be heard, once you realize you have access to someone who can answer the questions.

Jesus did it too. He was playing reincarnation trivia when he asked, "Whom do people say I am?"
And they all started throwing out names of dead people. Catholic priests have no clue how to explain that one. :-)

At a very young age, I was taught to believe that you only get one life, and then you go upstairs or downstairs for the rest of eternity. I think it's very mean to tell people they should believe this.

Soaking up that part of Cayce's material that covers karma and reincarnation helped me put together a bunch of puzzle pieces in my understanding of life. (You know: God's reasons are a mystery, we're not supposed to understand.) And made me much more content with just plain living.

Much love to all on this thread!

    About that "Continuity of Life":

What Happens Immediately After You Die - Swedenborg & Life
    offTheLeftEye

From the unconditionally loving welcome to the freedom to learn and grow how you want, we go through five elements of what happens immediately after you die, based on Swedenborg's firsthand account.

    =================================

Some beef about the wording of these things... if YOU die... YOU is dead... right?

So, to de-confuse the subject and eliminate the shortcuts used, one would be better off spelling it out that one talks about the "death" of the biological body... since YOU is spirit incarnated in (or possessing) a mortal biological body that's built around a digestive system and, therefore, needs to be fed and kept alive in order to survive and reproduce while being more or less disconnected from the spirit world.

Why would the teachings be so convoluted at every turn, why not tell the people what they need to know, plainly...
the people would understand. And if they were addressing people of today we would get the picture.

If, by some chance we are talking to those of no spirituality, or understanding whatsoever we have a problem.
Where to begin? Maybe that's where they were ay that time.
We are at an other time now so need more advanced teachings if it is possible. I hope so...……..
Question Everything, always speak truth... Make the best of today, for there may not be a tomorrow!!! But, that's OK because tomorrow never comes, so we have nothing to worry about!!!

I remember reading a while back about how Cayce explained that the opening of the seven seals in the book of revelation in the bible was symbolically speaking about activating the seven chakras.

Now, there's activating chakras, and there's activating chakras. :-) In one way, I can use Tibetan singing bowls, or youtube videos, to produce a frequency that will help "spin up" one or multiple chakras, and I can feel certain physical effects if those areas are not what you might call "active" at that point in time. Like butterflies in your stomach when you listen to the solar plexus frequency.

In another way, there's kundalini awakening, which is a whole other ball game, and I can understand based on other people's teachings on that subject why it might become "quiet in heaven for a half hour" once someone opens the seventh chakra, if you're talking about this kind of opening or activation. NOT something to venture into lightly, in my opinion. This kind of work is life altering and you might want to make sure your current lifestyle can handle the upheaval this sort of exploration can bring, before setting out to learn for yourself... You may also want to find a trustworthy teacher as well.

I think it's neat to see Cayce's interpretations of humankind's "fall" coming through in his readings. We have the works of many more pioneers since Cayce's time, and drawing from lots of other sources, I definitely take issue with his thinking of our incarnation(s) here on earth as some kind of fall from grace, because saying it that way makes it sound like being human is a negative thing, like a big mistake that we made and we should regret.

    I definitely disagree with that.

I won't argue that most humans go through the regret. :-) But I think it's wrong to think of our physical experiences here as the result of us being cast out of some place awesome, like some kind of punishment. Or of us getting dirty by deciding to come here.

It may seem that way if you're only able to witness the results of our incarnation, without the understanding of the mechanics. Thanks to the efforts of many others who, like Cayce, have explored the non-physical layers of consciousness in one way or another, I've come to believe that there are tons of worlds where a sprit could incarnate into physical form. But this one we're in happens to be much more "dense" than most others. Which is another way of saying these human vehicles can't hold as much of our spiritual source as other bodies in other worlds; so while we're here we can sense very little of the non-physical portion of our Selves. And this is what causes the spiritual amnesia that then leads to us forgetting where we came from (our higher selves) and then after one life is over, thanks to that lack of spiritual connection, we belive that we are who we see in the mirror, and all we know is what happened in our last life and what we intend to do about it. Much of the reason why we tried out life here in the first place is lost. Until we can break through the veil and remember what we really are, and what brought us here in the first place.

I think that some of us might have been crazy to try this place out, but all of us are spiritual bravehearts for taking the plunge, and will forever belong to an exclusive family that only we will be able to understand, long after Earth is gone.

Thanks for your post Joe Akulis.
Im not sure that Cayce was implying a fall from grace in traditional terms--more like part of a cycle.
Coming out of oneness going through all the play of consciousness to eventually the Golden age and a return to non duality.
He at times, (very rarely) mentioned that is was all an illusion according to John Van Auken's talks.

Kundalini awakened within me spontaneously and over the last twenty years has been working up through the chakras.
Reached the throat chakra so a bit to go.

I think my life is managed to suit---every major thing seems to happen by coincidence.

My wife who is a career lady has left me as here there were no prospects of advancement and has got a job doing what she always wanted to do counselings and training others in another Town quite some distance away

    We parted friends.

I have always had a significant other in my life since I was fifteen --im not fond of living alone.
However quite a few things have been removed from m life and now I lead a solitary existence.
    Avalon is my social event.
What I am trying to say is that in my case it seems necessary to be on my own in order that Kundalini can finish what it started.

Steve Bobbitt offers his interpretation of the Edgar Cayce readings on Know Thyself. This is the second chapter of Book I of the Search for God series. Knowing ourselves entails far more than what we perceive as it dovetails with our relationships with our fellow man and with God. Edgar Cayce on Sensitivity, Boundaries, and The Unseen Forces

In this lecture, Peter addresses the issue of empathy in the context of the Edgar Cayce material and The New Age. He expounds on the premise that karma is the slow lane of spiritual development, while empathy is the fast lane
