Talking Boris Johnson in disposable coffee cup scandal

For a bit of light relief, here's a link to an RT article about Boris Johnson being handed a disposable coffee cup, only to have it immediately snatched off him by an aide.

    Hilarious on several levels.

I don't do Twitter, but some of the comments are great.

...because it was environmentally unhealthy? He wasn't to be seen with it? Just making sure I'm following this correctly. I know nothing about this. (Uninformed American)

    In no particular order:

    - his look of genuine bafflement
    - the seriousness of the aide's reaction, especially considering they should probably be more worried about Brexit madness and how the Tories are portraying themselves
    - turning a one use cup into a zero use cup?
    - sheer comic timing
    - it's as if it's been scripted for the series 'The Thick of It', a painfully funny and cringeworthy sitcom about British politics
    - Johnson apparently asking what it is as it's already being snatched from him.

Oh haha I get it now. I know the joke's less funny if you have to explain it, but I really did laugh after I finally understood it. Thanks for brightening the day!

People going "wtf?" is my favorite kind of humor! The baffled face is the funniest part for me

Things like this make me thankful that I'm not famous or influential in any way

    (off-topic, forgive me!)

When I traveled extensively on the wonderful steam trains in India in the 1980s, the tea and coffee cups were all made from hard unfired clay, like little flower pots. When you'd finished your drink, you just threw the cup out the window: instant recycling. The improvisation worked brilliantly, as many things actually do in developing countries.

I've not been back to India since, but I bet they use plastic cups now. Maybe someone knows!
