Default Chinese trade deficit with the US

Does Trump have it backwards? This economist points out that if you count services and profitability, the Chinese are probably running a trade deficit with the US.

And that's why they can't cave into Trump's demands.

This is a useful (and not mentioned) part of the story to know. Trade in services is not typically included in the trade war media narrative.

This post - on the challenges of negative and zero interest rate policy and the bond markets - has another video with the economist from the post above:

Can you explain the context of China's slowdown?
    01:50
Yeah, I think one has to go back actually quite a long time or one's going to look at what happened to China starting in 2001, when China was allowed into the world trade organization. As a result of that China built up a huge trade surplus over time. It developed Chinese economy. China became very, very export-driven. And the US accommodated China, accommodated Germany too. But effectively, China was being accommodated by the US trade deficit.
    02:18
America is now saying enough is enough. They're no longer prepared to accommodate these big deficit diet China surplus. And this is the background to the tariff dispute. China was reacting to that. America imposed 10% tariffs, I believe, on the 17th of September, within five days, China went and started to tighten monetary policy. Through October, China hit the monetary base very, very hard and curtailed liquidity injections into Chinese money markets. We've seen the biggest slump in liquidity in these Chinese money markets that we've seen for five years probably, and effectively, that is slowing the economy hard.
    03:00
Now, if you look at the backdrop, not only is Chinese manufacturing slowing down significantly in the Chinese economy, but China dominates global value chains, in other words, supply chains globally. And as China has slowed down, world exports have also shrunk. And that has hit manufacturing companies worldwide, but particularly in those locations that are involved in these supply chains. In other words, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, and Germany. And those markets have been among the hardest hit through the slowdown. America and service industry generally have come out of this relatively unscathed.

I'm not sure, but chinese economy (and grow) might be a accounting falsehood, because Chinese economy numbers are not auditable.

chinese people works in half-slavery regime, and Services Provision are not Autonomous, as it is in Europe and the United States.

The NWO plan its to make US a big services market, China a big industrial market, Russia a big military police and London a big Bank. The rest of the world will only produce low value food and commodities.

I may be wrong, but Trump wants to reindustrialize US, don't fight against Russia and keep the US-dollar strong (petro-dollar), to bargain with the powerful NWO, who obviously dislike him.

Quote .. most Americans who care about the long-term survival of our country and our way of life, Communist China represents the most direct and dangerous threat since the Soviet Union.
    ..
While ordinary Americans are resistant to Chinese pressures and influence, our ruling and cultural elite are not. In fact, they seem quite willing to allow the Chinese to have outsized influence over our country while undermining basic human rights guaranteed by our Constitution but denied to ordinary Chinese.

China represents a threat to the "New World Order" globalism that revolves around the U.S. and London. Europe is regarded as a threat too. This is the impetus behind the push for Brexit (regardless of how its positioned for the masses) as well.

Hong Kong fiasco....same. Brexit weakens the EU by essentially breaking it up with Brexit. That paves the way for exits of other countries. You can bet that any deal worked out will reinforce Anglo American authority.

The Anglo American empire is desparately trying to control financial markets, payment systems etc....What they are doing to China is waging an economic war. They brought Russia to their knees by forcing them to compete wih them militarily. The Russians beggared themselves in the effort and eventually collapsed.

It's an interesting game. Thinly veiled geo strategic attempt for continued total power through continued economic control. Multi-polarity is the last thing the U.S and the power elite in England want.

The Rockefellers and Rothschilds in China: A Long, Intimate Relationship

The history of Wall Street and Anglo-American finance in China is one that is rarely discussed in western media or even academia, whereas knowing it would explain much about both China’s stunning economic rise over the past 70 years, as well as certainly seemingly rising tensions between China and the US today. It’s hard to tell if there is genuine tension and enmity because of credible rivalry status between the US and China, or if everything is proceeding according to wider, deeper, much longer-term planning based on desired, durable and thus political coordination. Large US, UK and EU investment banks are new entrants into China’s nascent bond sector, yet also retain longstanding presences pertaining to China’s financial and economic development. Such factors should be weighed alongside other historical details in evaluating China’s recent threats to ‘dump US Treasury bonds’, as well as to ultimately view any sense of symbiosis which the US and China are serving, and why. Are banks such as JP Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, Standard Chartered, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank and others necessarily against a ‘bond run’ and wider trashing of US debt? Or not so much? Who benefits? More specifically, who profits?

In this episode of Money & Fear, we’ll review some monetary and political history involving Wall Street and Beijing in order to weigh the mentioned factors. Details not shared, let alone analyzed, by mainstream corporate business press supposedly reporting on US-China trade, tariffs and/or currency wars, even.

Masters of Metal: China, the Rothschild Fix, and the "New World Currency"

1979 N M Rothschild & Sons advise on developmental projects in China:

In 1977, on the eve of the reopening of trade with China, Evelyn de Rothschild in his capacity as Chairman of The Economist, visited China and opened the way for further visits by representatives of the Bank who were, in turn, able to discuss a range of possible interests, focusing particularly on gold and foreign exchange. As a direct result of the Four Modernisations programme announced by the Chinese Government in 1975, (which aimed to strengthen the fields of agriculture, industry, defence and science and technology), foreign companies were invited to participate and assist in a number of developmental projects in China. Among British companies brought into China in this way in 1979 were the National Coal Board and Northern Engineering Industries, who bid for the construction of two power generating plants, one near Beijing, the other in Jiangsu Province. N M Rothschild & Sons Limited was financial adviser to these schemes. Same year that China forced the "One Child Per Family" Policy invoking stronger measures such as forced abortions and MASS sterilizations (the latter primarily of women).

You just ask questions. Care to point out several qualifying statements or question marks in your posts? I don't think I am an authority, just someone who reads across a broad spectrum of opinions while avoiding obvious click bait.

Youtube videos thrown together by just any Joe Blow with an internet connection and a big mouth don't impress me much. Some will be credible but most appeal to emotion, don't understand journalism, can't prove what they are saying. Sometimes its a mix of both. Either way, I ignore most of them.

We currently have globalism with all the political blocs more or less serving the global American agenda. This has begun to change with the Silk Road initiative in China, literally making inroads all the way to Europe. Europeans are becoming more antagonistic to the U.S, with the exception of England. Whether its citizens are aware of it or not, England is being used as a wedge in an attempt to weaken the European Union.

I am not referring to the citizens here, but he long game being played by those way way in the background. All appearances to the contrary this is what is happening, IMHO. Does this mean the players involved like Boris Johnson, for example, are aware of this dynamic. He may or may not be. Certainly most people feel as you do, but appearances are completely deceiving.

Hey Exo, thank you .. I agree, I use NWO term like a general reference.

on the video you post, Dolar - The Greatest Piramid Scheme .. at 12m:35s you can see: ".. governments are able to artificially .." that is fully pertinent.

I focus on "chinese accounting falsehood", because I know several reasons to say Its economy are scandalous forged, to show the World the Chinese Economic Power.

I point two of this, for reference:

    (1) on the impeached Dilma Roussef (comunist) government, when the economy messed up and begin to broke, the lady claimed "No problem, because we'll be supported by BRICS" .. very funny, because BRICS answered "have no money".

It's a bank that has no cash, simple as that. The chineses sent private delegations to negotiate purchases, not to lend easy money. The current (elected) government even went to say this - We want China to buy From Brazil and not Buy the Brazil.

The fall of dams, that caused environmental catastrophes served China's purpose of making mineral extraction company here cheaper and easier to buy. They already bought a lot of small mining companies here, as they did in the USA (see next item 2). The problem is that in Brazil, the subsoil belongs to the government. Even to open a water well, must have authorization, and So, buying the land and the companies don't matters, because in order to exploit the underground, have to get a concession based on what will be explored.

    (2) the NETFLIX documentary (The China Hustle) show that Great Chinese Corporations, which in China had only a few rented rooms and a dozen staff members, whose sole function was to create Chinese government-endorsed accounting and economic forged reports, so that them could buy bankrupt companies in the US and sell bonds on Wall Street exchanges, as if they were huge rich corporations.

I think, we could say that everyone creates rigged numbers, but China creates much more.

Don't buy his take on things going way back in history. What's his take on the dinosaurs, were they aligned with China too? Seriously, most conspiracists don't understand that conspiracy doesn't go way way back in time. It changes, evolves, morphs.Power shifts through natural means which may or may not be capitalized on.

China is no way currently in kahoots with the Anglo American empire. That's nonsense. They are trying to break free of the strangle-hold of unilateral globalism. That is why the U.S. military is freaking out.

I wouldn't discard anything at this point. If you look at it, China is way ahead of the rest of the world in what matters to totalitarian control over their population, not only the social credits system, but with all the cctv network and facial recognition software. There has to be a link here since that's a NWO dream playground!

It is difficult to discern for me at this point if Trump is working toward the NWO or against it.

There are arguments on both sides.

    Argument one: Against.

He pulled out of Syria stopping the NWO advance in it's tracks.

Retort? No. It only appears this way. What he did was pull out and let Turkey be the bad guy and clean up some rogue soldiers at the same time. This way when Trump goes in after the collapse as the hero to help those "POOR" people rebuild what he helped orchestrate to tear down as per his agreement when selected for the presidency.

Trump has an assignment to bring down North Korea, Syria and Iran, the last three hold out countries to the NWO. They will do just what they did to Libya and Iraq going in as heroes to help them rebuild what they helped tear down by installing a new central FED bank to loan those people money to rebuild. Then they take control of their currency and then eventually install a puppet if this isn't done immediately and take over control of all the valued natural resources.

Trump has plausible deniability to say he is the hero trying to provide aid now because Turkey did the deed and they get the blame while Trump moves one more country out of the way leaving two to go. If he gets all three in eight years ( I can't reveal where I heard this but wish I could) he was told he'd be assured one of his children would be prez in the future.

So no matter what Trump says he is working toward the NWO with his masters that began handling him after he needed help to save face by a serious err in the past where he was about to lose his a$$ets and more. As Syria falls just watch, because undoubtedly as the FED works there with Trump their puppet master he will then focus on the other two. All the while the power base moves to China and when the 'penis' falls off the bull the move is official and completed. So when the Washington monument falls and a new similar one goes up somewhere in China with some minor mention of the event in the news that is the actual ceremony moving the power the same direction it always moves!

How did this happen? The plan is over 200 years old. They study and remember history. The masses forget. When Rome saw it was in trouble like we did in 2008 with our financial system of usury money lending Rome elite began to panic. The elite were tapped for credit and seriously in debt. The soldiers were tapped, the middle class was tapped out for credit. They could not finance another war! So what did they do? They freed the slaves and for a time that saved the empire but they too tapped out and we all know what happened then.

They learned how to create America for this. Now when the system reached that point which they knew it would do, they simply open the borders and guess what? There is an endless stream of clean slates to loan new money to in a system that is designed to constantly create new money or it dies. As those moving in tap out they flush them out welcoming in a new wave of immigrants and the system goes on. That is the sole purpose for the USA in the future to keep the money system alive and well by flushing in new clean slates wanting to start fresh even if they have to steal an ID to do so. And apparently the IRS and other agencies help them by just filing the SS number they stole and letting them use it and pay taxes on it and what you get is a notice from the IRS that someone is using your SS # out there but they give you a code and they give them a code and then if your number gets stolen again like ours did so three people are wandering around the USA using your SS numbers the IRS lets them and simply adds four digits more to the number so they can distinguish all of you apart from the other when you all file under the same number!!!!

This is going on! I have it happening in my life! It's for real and they do it because they have to constantly create new money all the time. This is also why they offer so much free to the immigrants, why they give them credit right away and the list goes on. It's all about keeping the usury money lending system from dying.
The genius consistently stands out from the masses in that he unconsciously anticipates truths of which the population as a whole only later becomes conscious! Speech-circa 1937

"Let’s get one thing straight. The Chinese people, whether they appear happy or sad, support their government because they’re controlled. After generations of being beaten down, the population bows the head and bends the knee to slave masters. Call that freedom if you want to.

And if you really believe the situation in America is no better than the system in China, even with the amount of censorship alive and well in America, even with the rigging of this economy, try an experiment. Move to China and start publishing articles relentlessly critical of the government there. See what happens. Be sure to leave a copy of your last Will and Testament at home.

When the NBA commissioner and several players talk about loving their Chinese fans, they’re referring to victims of long-term terrorism. And if you press the NBA people on that point, they say, “We just want to play basketball, we just want the games.”

And they want the money. The Nike money, the Chinese money, the television money, the other merchandise money. More Chinese people than Americans watch the NBA playoffs on TV.

When, in a momentary fit of sanity, the General Manager of the Houston Rockets, Daryl Morey, retweeted FIGHT FOR FREEDOM, STAND WITH HONG KONG, the Chinese government launched a **** storm. Blacked out pre-season games, canceled press conferences, attacked NBA Commissioner Adam Silver for (partially and weakly) defending free speech. Now, calls are going out for Daryl Morey to resign from his job, to appease the Chinese government.

The big fear? A few global NBA stars would decide to step up and defend the million Hong Kong protestors, who want to knock down a bill that would allow China to extradite “criminal suspects” from Hong Kong to the mainland, where they can be charged, imprisoned, tortured, murdered. Those number one Hong Kong suspects would be persons who oppose the mainland Chinese regime.

The NBA stars, speaking out, could ignite a worldwide conflagration of public outrage aimed at the brutal government of China.

So far, that fear is unfounded. Social justice warriors LeBron James, (coaches) Steve Kerr and Gregg Popovich are silent on the specific issue of Hong Kong vs. China. No one connected to the NBA is addressing it.

We have what George Washington warned about: an entangling foreign alliance. The US, China, money.

You have to wonder at the curious timing of all this now. The Chinese government, seizing on one little tweet, blows sky high, just when NBA players, coaches, and the commissioner happen to be in China on a good will money-pumping tour. It’s as if the Chinese government wanted an excuse to attack the US, because Trump has been stirring the pot on US-China trade relations. Obliquely, the Communist dictatorship wants to demonstrate how far they’ll go to crack down against any outside criticism, and against readjustment of trade that currently favors China. Grossly favors China. (We’ll see just how good or bad the new Trump trade deal with China is.)

Who is in charge of keeping NBA players in a state of silence and compliance with the wishes of the Chinese leadership? The NBA, yes. But more importantly, the shoe companies. Nike, Adidas. They have enormous business in China. Mustn’t disturb THAT. Every famous NBA player has a big $$ shoe deal. Mustn’t endanger THAT money, either. So shut up. Play ball. Stay ignorant of politics.

    Entangling alliances.

The Chinese leadership is, in effect, daring the NBA to cut ties with China and lose billions. “If your balls are made of money, we have you by the balls.”

Why did the Rockefellers want to open up China trade with the West those many years ago? Why not, say, populous India instead? After all, India had some budding semblance of a representative government. Contrasted against China, India was Thomas Paine. The Rockefellers favored China because they LIKED China’s system. Massive top-down control. Absolute censorship. Violent repression. Mind control. Thus, a way to own and direct huge numbers of people and pacify them through fear and terror. Decade after decade. A GOOD MODEL FOR THE WORLD.

An American friend described an incident he witnessed years ago when he was sitting on a tour bus in China. He and his buddy were the only Americans on board. An argument broke out between two Chinese tour guides at the front of the bus. At that moment, all the Chinese passengers bowed their heads and stared at the floor. This was their reflex reaction to a dispute between two low-level officials.

So you can imagine their responses to leadership at the top. Total submission.

These are the NBA fans who have a love affair with US players. And vice versa.

Orwell, 1984: “But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother.”

Orwell: “If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — forever.”

Or perhaps a shoe, manufactured by Nike, in China.

Suppose MANY customers of Nike stop buying their shoes.

Suppose MANY NBA fans stop going to the games.

Suppose MANY viewers stop watching the games on TV.

Suppose MANY more social media users relentlessly spread messages supporting the Hong Kong protestors and exposing the brutal Chinese regime.

Suppose independent researchers begin publishing lists of products made in China and bought in the US, so consumers can avoid them.

Suppose many more people wake up to the fact that the economic glue that holds Globalism together is insane—domestic manufacturers abandon their home country and set up shop in places (like China) where they make their products far more cheaply; where wages are very low and environmental concerns are nil; and then, export those products for sale back home, thereby putting competing domestic companies out of business. Suppose many more people come to see this as economic suicide. Suppose they see Globalism itself as planned suicide. Planned to raise up certain countries ruled by brutal dictators, and sink other countries where some semblance of freedom still exists. And suppose they see this plan as a strategy for bringing about planet-wide repression under any label you care to use, but turns out to be Rule by Giant Corporations and Banks Colluding with Governments over All of Earth. No exceptions permitted.

And suppose the 7.7 billion targets of this plan realize they’re all the real Deplorables, and consequently say NO.

With the many avenues of communication available to us, that could be a tidal wave of NO.

If you want to dig still further down, into the basics of economics, consider: relatively free markets can only function within a context where the playing field is level for competitors—the costs of manufacturing, marketing, and selling products are the same for everyone. Once you permit the massive import of goods from places where those costs are radically lower, you are rigging the game. The home country suffers. Companies shut down. Workers have no jobs. The general level of prosperity, whatever it was, keeps decaying. No matter how you slant and massage the numbers, no matter how many cockeyed theories you spawn, the outcome is unavoidable.

Compound this engineered tragedy by permitting those massive imports to come from a country where the citizens are rigidly controlled by a criminal regime; enter into a huge number of economic agreements with that regime; turn a blind eye to what that regime has been doing to its people; and you have a sacrifice of freedom on all fronts.

Then there is a chokehold. And then, on any occasion, for any reason, the brutal regime will issue a command:

    Don’t dare criticize us;

    We’re in this together;

We have no principles and neither do you."

You are speaking of Corbett, here? If so, you should vet his reporting rather than dismissing it as conspiracy.

I am genuinely struggling to make sense of your comment. You are painting with broad strokes what was a report full of specific details which are all provable with a little research.
