Quote 9 Family Members, All U.S. Citizens, Die In Highway Attack In Mexico
    November 5, 2019
    BILL CHAPPELL

Three women and six children were killed in an attack on members of a Mormon family as they traveled in Mexico on Monday, according to Mexican officials. Relatives say all of those killed were U.S. citizens, and authorities in the state of Sonora say the group was "ambushed by a group of armed people."

Five children who were injured in the attack have been transported to U.S. hospitals, according to U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Christopher Landau.

The victims are part of the LeBaron family, members of which have lived in northern Mexico for decades since splitting off from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints following its move away from polygamy. The Utah-based church does not consider them to be members.

"We are heartbroken to hear of the tragedy that has touched these families in Mexico," a church spokesman said in a statement emailed to NPR. "Though it is our understanding that they are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, our love, prayers and sympathies are with them as they mourn and remember their loved ones."

Mexican officials say they're still investigating to determine whether the members of the extended LeBaron family were targeted or if they were the victims of mistaken identity. Members of the group have long lived in an area just south of Arizona where rival cartels are at war, fighting to secure smuggling routes close to the U.S. border.

"What's important to know is, several members of this community have been outspoken advocates against drug violence and extortion in the region," NPR's Carrie Kahn reports from Mexico City. She adds, "Two members of the community were kidnapped and murdered in the late 2000s, for standing up to the gangs."

The women and children were attacked early Monday afternoon as they moved in a small convoy of three SUVs between the states of Sonora and Chihuahua. Video from the scene shows that at least one vehicle was burned and had what appeared to be multiple bullet holes.

Jhon LeBaron, a family member who was not with the group that was attacked, posted news of the killings on his Facebook page Monday. "My heart is completely broken," he wrote.

"Just got word both my Aunt Dawna and Christina have been killed, the Cartel murdered them and several of their babies," LeBaron said. "They left 6 of Dawna's kids on the side of the road and took off. My aunt Dawna's son Devon hid some of his shot and wounded siblings in the bushes and ran all the way back to town for help."

In addition to those killed or injured, one minor was unharmed and another minor was believed to be missing, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Security Minister Alfonso Durazo said at a news conference Tuesday morning.

López Obrador later said that through President Trump, he has sent his "deepest condolences to the family and friends of those who were killed." He also seemed to rebuff Trump's offer of military help to fight the perpetrators, saying his government will seek justice in the case.

In response to the attack, Trump said, "A wonderful family and friends from Utah got caught between two vicious drug cartels, who were shooting at each other, with the result being many great American people killed, including young children, and some missing."

Trump offered to aid Mexico if it needs help "cleaning out" the attackers, whom he dubbed "monsters."

"This is the time for Mexico, with the help of the United States, to wage WAR on the drug cartels and wipe them off the face of the earth. We merely await a call from your great new president!" Trump said via Twitter.

The U.S. State Department says the FBI has also offered to help Mexican authorities investigate the horrific crime.

Mexico Foreign Relations Secretary Marcelo Ebrard says his agency has been in touch with Ambassador Landau since Monday regarding the killings, which he called a tragedy.

"The security of our nationals is our top priority," Landau said via Twitter. He added, "I am following the situation in the mountains between Sonora and Chihuahua very closely."

Authorities have not publicly identified all of the victims or the circumstances of their deaths. But in an update to his original posting, Jhon LeBaron shared more details from a cousin, Kendra Miller, who said the group consisted of three mothers and 14 children and that they had been driving together in three SUVs.

Two of the women were traveling to see relatives in Chihuahua, and one was driving to the U.S. to pick up her husband from the airport in Phoenix, according to Miller. She added that the vehicles were found in two separate areas, about 10 miles apart.

Miller listed the dead in one vehicle as:

    -Rhonita Maria Miller, 30
    -Howard Jacob Miller Jr., 12
    -Krystal Bellaine Miller, 10
-Titus Alvin Miller and Tiana Gricel Miller, both 8 months (twins)

"All shot and burned in their vehicle," she said, adding, "Only ashes and a few bones remain."

Miller named the other four victims as Christina Marie Langford Johnson, 29, and Dawna Ray Langford, 40, along with children Trevor Harvey Langford, 11, and Rogan Jay Langford, 2.

One child was apparently found in a bullet-riddled vehicle without any injuries. Miller said 7-month-old Faith Marie Johnson was "found in her car seat that seemed to be put on the floor, by her mother to try and protect her."

In an update about the attack, Sonora's Criminal Investigation Ministerial Agency issued a statement Tuesday saying that investigators have recovered more than 200 bullet casings from the multiple crime scenes along the road.

Describing what it called an ambush, the agency blamed the violence on criminal groups fighting for power.

It was first announced that they happened to go by a shooting and got trapped in the crossfire but this news article says it was not really crossfire, instead the trucks they were driving on were confused with trucks from another cartel and that's why they shot to kill without warning, this was done by a group named "Jaguars"

There is something quite intriguing about how so many current events are like octopuses

Quote The LeBaron Massacre and the LeBaron Connection to Nxivm and Keith Raniere
    November 5, 2019

Frank Report was first to break the news Monday: Three women and six children were killed in an attack on members of the Colonia LeBaron Community [clan], as they traveled in Mexico.

In this post we will explore the Lebaron clan’s connection to Nxivm and possible motives for the killings.

The women and children were attacked early Monday afternoon as they traveled in three SUVs through the mountains between the states of Sonora and Chihuahua.

Two of the women were traveling to see relatives in Chihuahua, and one was driving to the U.S. to pick up her husband from the Phoenix airport. The vehicles were found in two separate areas, about 10 miles apart.

They were apparently ambushed by a group of armed men. More than 200 bullet casings were recovered from the crime scenes along the road.

Mexican officials say they’re investigating whether the LeBaron family were targeted or victims of mistaken identity. Several members of the LeBaron community have been outspoken against drug violence and extortion in the region.

The FBI has launched an investigation into the matter because those killed had US citizenship.

Aside from the dead, five children were injured in the attack and were transported to U.S. hospitals.

The cult-like LeBaron clan have lived in northern Mexico, south of Arizona, for decades after splitting from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints over the Church’s crackdown on polygamy. The Utah Mormon church does not consider them members, although the LeBaron clan are usually referred to as Mormons.

    The dead are:

    Rhonita Maria Miller, 30
    Howard Jacob Miller Jr., 12
    Krystal Bellaine Miller, 10
Titus Alvin Miller and Tiana Gricel Miller, both 8 months (twins)

These were shot and then burned in their vehicle. Only ashes and bones remained.

    The other four victims are:

    Dawna Ray Langford,
    Christina Marie Langford Johnson, 29

    Dawna Ray Langford, 40.

    Her children:

Trevor Harvey Langford, 11, and Rogan Jay Langford, 2.

Seven month-old Faith Marie Johnson was uninjured and found in her car seat that her mother placed on the floor of the car.

Were the Women and Children Targeted?

The LeBaron clan is no stranger to violence. The cult has a long history of polygamy, pedophilia and an estimated 40 murders.
The late, Ervil LeBaron, the clan’s former leader, had at least 13 wives and over 50 children. Ervil reportedly utilized his wives and daughters to murder defectors and dissidents. After his conviction, he ordered murders from his Utah jail cell and the murders were carried out after Ervil LeBaron died.

Jacqueline LeBaron gave money to her sister, Cynthia LeBaron, to murder cult defectors in 1988. Cynthia LeBaron [not the Nxivm member, but a relative] confessed to the murders of three adults and an 8 year old girl.

Of the seven killers involved in the LeBaron clan’s “4 O’Clock Murders,” five were found guilty of murder. Cynthia LeBaron testified against her siblings and was granted immunity. The final suspect, Jacqueline LeBaron, was captured by the FBI in May 2010.
The 4 O’Clock Murders resulted in four former LeBaron clan members, including a child, being shot to death at the same time at three separate locations in Texas.

Ervil LeBaron and his followers eliminated rivals following the doctrine of “blood atonement”, which directs that apostates should be killed, which was promulgated by Mormon leader, Brigham Young and is now disavowed by the Utah Mormon Church

As Frank Report commenter Actaeon pointed out, “The Monday killings are horrific. It may be that this was simply a case of mistaken identity or unfortunates getting caught in the crossfire of rival drug gangs. But it deserves to be mentioned that the LeBaron clan has a long and bloody history in Mexico. They had also challenged the drug gangs and were lobbying to be allowed to create their own ‘security force.’ They had clashed with local farmers over water rights.

“Make no mistake, this is a cult. A polygamous Mormon cult with a long history of extreme violence and abuse. This is the kind of cult that puts pasty oversexed Keith Raniere in the shade. It’s a cult whose members have committed some 40 murders. It’s a story that should be far better known.”

    Nxivm Connection
Several members of the LeBaron Clan have been Nxivm members.

Samantha LeBaron is reportedly still a member of Nxivm and a DOS slave. It is unclear whether Cynthia LeBaron remains with the Nxivm cult. Both women formerly lived in Clifton Park.

LeBaron Girls Came to Clifton Park to Be Taught by Raniere
In 2016, when Nxvm leader Keith Alan Raniere was actively seeking a virgin to anoint as his future “successor” and assigned several of his slaves to seek them, DOS First Line Slave Master Rosa Laura Junco invited 11 girls from Chihuahua to come to Albany to take part in a special Pilot Project for teen girls created by Raniere.

At least four of the girls’s last names were LeBaron and it is believed all of them came from the LeBaron clan.

Reportedly the LeBaron clan had been persuaded to send the girls to Clifton Park NY, because Nxivm offered them a special Pilot Project for free. The curriculum – in the form of modules – was written especially for teen girls and would lead to female empowerment, they were told. While in New York, the girls were to offered opportunities to do rewarding work to earn money.

If the Pilot worked out well, Raniere said he hoped to introduce it into high schools across America.

Rosa Laura Junco invited girls from Chihuahua to come to her house and learn from Keith Raniere.
When the girls arrived, they were housed in Nxivm members’ homes including Junco’s and Dr. Brandon Porter’s.

The girls ranged in ages from 13 – 17. Junco’s teenage daughter also attended classes held in Junco’s home.

Rosa Laura Junco’s mansion in Clifton Park where 11 teenage girls were taught Keith Raniere’s lessons for teenage girls.

DOS slave Sahajo Haertel taught the LeBaron girls. Haertel was formerly a member of the Osho sex cult before joining Raniere and becoming his sex slave.

The teens were quickly disappointed. They had been told they were going to be taught a high school curriculum equivalent. Instead they were only taught classes in English and NXIVM modules, especially some related to gender.

As for meaningful work, the girls were assigned to work for Delagates, India Oxenberg’s company which was set up to run errands and clean houses for Nxivm members. The girls cleaned houses, preformed childcare, and prepared food including baking deserts for Nxivm Intensives for extremely low wages.

Raniere personally came from time to time to try to mentor the girls and apparently one or more incidents occurred that was inappropriate and possibly sexual in nature.

It is known the girls fled back home to Chihuahua. According to one source, there may have been a threat of a police report and Raniere and others in Nxivm seemed to have been deeply worried for several days just prior to the girls’ sudden departure.

One eyewitness said she saw Raniere sitting with some of the girls and was shocked when she saw him kiss them on the lips in greeting. He was sitting near them, holding hands and touching them on their bodies in a playful manner.

“The girls had been told he was a great teacher, and not to be disrespected. But from the look on their faces, they were shocked at his behavior.” the witness said.

It is not known if Dr. Porter utilized the girls as subjects for his human fright experiments. Porter later lost his medical license for the experiments which featured showing female subjects snuff films and gang rapes to test their reactions while hooked up to a monitoring device.

One side product of the events was that Rosa Laura Junco offered her daughter to Raniere as his virgin successor, but evidently the teen girl rejected the idea and fled from her mother’s home to live with her father. She fled about the same time as the girls from Chihuahua.

These girls were not the first to flee Raniere. As far back as 1990, a 13 year old girl, Rhiannon, fled from Raniere after he raped her some 60 times. Raniere was supposed to teach her algebra and Latin.

Similarly the LeBaron girls were to supposed to get a unique and special education from Raniere.

The family of the girls would only tell Frank Report that Raniere is “sicko” and they should have never left the girls alone with him.

Some of the girls were reportedly encouraged to go on low calorie diets similar to DOS [500-800 calories per day]. When they rebelled, they were made to feel guilty, a source told Frank Report.

“The girls were completely grossed out by Keith”‘ said the source. “They felt Keith was a ‘lech’ and creepy. They felt he had sexual intentions. They told their parents. Whether he did more, I don’t know. Keith knows what the laws are regarding age of consent.”

The age of consent in New York State is 17. The age of consent in Mexico is 12.

    Another Nxivm Connection
The LeBaron clan also figured in a movie that former Nxivm member Mark Vicente directed for Nxivm. It was supposed to be about approaches to nonviolence in Mexico. Vicente later repudiated the film as Nxivm propaganda.

The film included an interview with Julian LeBaron, who is cousin of one of the women killed Monday and a current leader of the LeBaron clan. LeBaron’s brother was kidnapped by a local drug cartel in 2009, and the family refused to pay a ransom. He was released.

    Yet Another Connection to LeBaron
In an infamous 2009 video, Raniere said he had people killed for his beliefs.(video embedded in article)

When this video came up during the proceedings in the bankruptcy case of former Nxivm member, Susan Dones, Nxivm lawyer Robert Crockett said Raniere was referring to the death of Benjamin LeBaron, 32, and his brother-in-law Luis Carlos Stubbs, 29, who had been killed by a group of assailants.

According to Crockett, Raniere said he advised the LeBaron family not to pay ransom and stand up to the drug cartels. The result was the two men were killed in retaliation. Crockett said this is what Raniere meant when he said in the April 2009 video that “I’ve had people killed for my beliefs and for theirs.”

The problem with this argument is that LeBaron and Stubbs were alive when Raniere spoke of having people killed. The video was made on April 23, 2009. LeBaron and Stubbs did not die until July 7, 2009.

Shadow: Keith Raniere and Ervil LeBaron’s Bad Ass Warrior Bitches
    February 18, 2019

Why the FBI regards NXIVM as Organized Crime
    By Shadow State 1958

In my last post, I discussed the LeBaron cult which produced the Mexican teenage girls sent to Clifton Park to be mentored by Keith Raniere. This LeBaron cult had a history of polygamy, pedophilia and extreme violence with 25 plus murders.
Of course, Raniere in a video tape claimed to have had people killed on his behalf and his NXIVM cult has a history of mysterious deaths.

    Kristin Snyder
    Barb Jeske
    Pam Cafritz
In discussing the LeBaron family, note that since they practiced polygamy and pedophilia, cult leader Ervil LeBaron had at least 13 wives and over 50 children.
They were squirting out a new generation every 15 years.
They reused the same first names so more than one person is known as Cynthia LeBaron. Don’t ask me to draw up a family tree. The LeBaron family tree is a jungle.
Ervil LeBaron, born in 1925, formed a Mormon sect where defectors were murdered by Ervil’s Bad Ass Warrior Bitches. Ervil used his wives and daughters to murder defectors and dissidents. In some cases, he ordered murders from a Utah jail cell and the murders were carried out years after Ervil LeBaron died.
Texas polygamist Jacqueline LeBaron pleads guilty in deaths of defectors, child
    Inline image
Jacqueline LeBaron, aunt or great aunt of Clifton Park’s Cynthia LeBaron, is being led out of a Houston court.
Jacqueline LeBaron gave money to her sister, Cynthia LeBaron, to murder cult defectors in 1988.
Cynthia LeBaron is either the mother or grandmother of Clifton Park’s Cynthia LeBaron.
The older Cynthia LeBaron confessed to the murders of three adults and an 8 year old girl.
Of the 7 killers involved in the infamous “4 O’Clock Murders,” 5 were found guilty of murder. One, Cynthia LeBaron, testified against her siblings and was granted immunity. The final suspect, Jacqueline LeBaron, was captured by the FBI in May 2010.

On June 16, 2011, Jacqueline pleaded guilty to conspiracy to obstruct religious beliefs and faced a 5-year maximum sentence in a future sentencing hearing. Jacqueline LeBaron was even on the FBI’s Top Ten Wanted List.
Now, why did Rose Laura Junco recruit Mormon girls from the Le Baron cult to go to Clifton Park?
Was it only for sex or was it to be the nucleus for a Hit Squad to murder Raniere’s opponents?
Why were the four Mormon girls housed in Dr. Brandon Porters house?
The same doctor who showed ultra-violent movies to women to desensitize the women to violence.

Quote Murders In Mexico: How A Diverse Religious Community With Utah Ties Ended Up In La Mora
    By CAROLINE BALLARD

The community of La Mora is located in the northeastern mountains of the Mexican state of Sonora.

On Monday, nine people were killed in northern Mexico near the U.S. border while driving between the states of Sonora and Chihuahua. Three mothers and their six young children, all of whom were dual U.S.-Mexico citizens, were riding in a caravan to a wedding.

On the way, the victims’ families say they were gunned down by members of drug cartels. One of the cars caught fire and exploded. The victims were part of a community with ties to Utah — many of the families there are independent Mormons.

Cristina Rosetti is a scholar of Mormon fundamentalism.
    CREDIT COURTESY CRISTINA ROSETTI
KUER’s Caroline Ballard talked to Cristina Rosetti, a scholar of Mormon fundamentalism, to learn more about the victims and their community in La Mora, Mexico.

This interview has been edited for length and clarity.

Caroline Ballard: Tell me about La Mora, Mexico.

Cristina Rosetti: The community of La Mora is really interesting because it is a diverse religious community. There are LDS people that live down there. There are members of the Church of the Firstborn, which we've been hearing a lot about, and there are independent families.

But most people in La Mora and the people who were, unfortunately, victims yesterday are what we refer to as an Independent Mormon. What that means is that they are not part of a church. They don't have a leader. They're not organized.

A lot of people have been referring to them as the La Mora Group or a sect of the LDS church, and that's not the case. They are just different families that have common beliefs, but they're not part of a church and they all just live together in La Mora.

CB: Why are they down there?

CR: As most people know, the LDS Church publicly ended the practice of polygamy — for the first time — in 1890. A lot of people went down to Mexico to maintain the practice of plural marriage.

The La Mora community is fundamentalist, so when we say independent Mormon, more often we're referring to fundamentalists. Many of them practice polygamy. Some don't, but most would believe in it as an eternal religious principle.

A lot of them choose to live there because they've lived there for generations, so it's a generational community, but they're able to practice their religion.

CB: Who are these victims? Who are these families?

CR: I first heard about this from the Darger family, who are a Mormon family that live in Utah. Unfortunately, tragically, they have relatives that passed in this. So these victims are related widely to different Mormon communities. The family that's come up a lot is the Langford family, and they're an independent Mormon family.

CB: Is there a history of friction between this Mormon community in La Mora and drug cartels in this region of Northwestern Mexico?

CR: As far as I know, just from hearing different accounts, La Mora has lived in relative peace for upward of 60 years, and they haven't had any problems like this.

That is in distinction, somewhat, to the name that we've heard a lot circulating — the LeBarons. A lot of people have conflated the La Mora community with the LeBaron community, and that is an incorrect conflation.

CB: LeBaron is another Mormon community in Mexico.

CR: Yes. Importantly, there are multiple sects of the LeBaron order. The one in Colonia LeBaron has historically had some conflict [with cartels], but they are very distinct from the La Mora community.

CB: In the aftermath of an event like this, what are the possibilities for misconception among the wider population of people hearing this news?

CR: I've heard a lot of people just kind of refer to them as Mormon. I've heard people refer to them as citizens or Utahns, people with connections to Utah.

But I also have heard people say LeBarons were killed by cartels. And I've also heard people say Church of the Firstborn were killed. And I've strangely heard people say FLDS [Fundamentalist Latter-day Saints] are being killed.

People who aren't as familiar with this topic do conflate fundamentalists with the FLDS and with wider things. People want people to exist in boxes, and so it's easy to say “they're part of this church, they're part of this community, they're part of this group,” when in reality that's not the case.

One of the unfortunate things is seeing people make assumptions about who these people are without knowing anything about them. It makes it more complicated because we're talking about individual families, and lumping them into something is really easy for us. But it also does a disservice to the individual and family lives lost.

CB: President Trump weighed in on this attack on Twitter, calling them “a wonderful family.” But he's also using it as a point to say, “Hey, Mexico, we're waiting for you to tell us to come in with forces and destroy your drug cartels.” Does this have the potential to set off a bigger conflict?

CR: This is a really interesting moment because President Trump has done a lot to stigmatize Mexican people and undocumented people. So it's going to be interesting if he suddenly sides with a historically marginalized community — the polygamists.

It's going to be interesting to see how that plays if the government rallies behind polygamist people who've been killed. You know, I would hope that as humans, we would rally around people who've died. But families have said that it was cartel-related. I'm still waiting to hear more on that.

Like all crimes in Mexico, information on the facts of the massacre of the LeBarón family - where three women and six children died - is inversely proportional to the confusion and multiple versions that have been known in less than a week.

The first who gave the alarm of what happened was the well-known activist, Julián LeBarón, who said that the crime occurred when members of the Mormon community were ambushed on a road between Chihuahua and Sonora by armed men, last 4 November.

According to the activist's version, fifteen members of the LeBarón clan traveled in three SUV trucks, which were driven by Rhonita María Miller , accompanied by their four children; Dawna LeBarón and her seven little ones; and Christina Langford with her baby.

The convoy was moving from Galeana, Chihuahua to Bavispe, Sonora , when one of the units - where Rhonita moved - suffered a flat tire, so I wait on the way for the others to get a replacement.

Apparently, it was during the wait when the attack began. The first versions of the family indicated that Rhonita and her children were shot by hitmen who broke into the site and then caused a fire, where all the passengers of the van died.

An hour and 20 minutes later, Dawna and Christina approached the place when they saw the fire. The women advanced 18 kilometers in search of help, however, they were attacked by the same group of hitmen.

The testimony of one of the minors who witnessed the massacre, revealed that Christina got out of the car, looked at her assailants and with her hands up told them they were only women and children. "Even so, the hitmen shot him in the chest.

The attack of the criminals left a balance of nine people dead and six survivors, who fled the place.

The La Mora ranch - where the LeBarón family lived - is located 15 kilometers from the incident site, so from there, Julian could see that one of the trucks was catching fire.

The official version, however, leaves doubts about how it was that three vans occupied by women and children were confused with a convoy of hitmen, who are generally armed and with bulletproof vests.

The Mexican Army attributed to a confrontation between the cartels of La Línea and Los Salazar the murder of nine members of the LeBarón family . According to General Homero Mendoza, this is the main line of research, and he pointed out that there are several data to support his hypothesis.

The main one is that the day before the murder there was a crossfire between the two cartels in the city of Agua Prieta, Sonora , which left one dead and one shot, so that the La Line cell was mobilized in the area of the saw to stop any entrance of Los Salazar and confused the three trucks in which the LeBarón traveled.

Presenting a timeline, the general said that the three units left the ranch La Mora, but at different times, so the attacks were separate.

The first attack occurred at 09:40 a.m. at a point near La Mora, where a Tahoe truck caught fire from the shots it received. There died a woman and four children.

The second Suburban van, in which a woman and her seven children were traveling, was riddled. In fact, two children and the driver died.

The last offensive came about minutes later, when a woman lost her life. It is presumed that the criminals let the children go after the attack.

In the place of the massacre, a mountain range between Chihuahua and Sonora, more than 200 cartridges of M16 and R15 of North American manufacture were collected.

For the Mormon community, there was no confusion, because even one of the women who descended from her vehicle to prevent the killing was shot.

“The whole family wants to know exactly who they were (the attackers) and why they did it and we don't want them (the government) to handle the facts and we don't want lies, ” Julián LeBarón claimed. As he noted, family members were the first to arrive on the scene before local prosecutors. "(Government officials) went out to say that they were in the middle of a crossfire, but they don't even have the facts of what happened," he added.

It is very confusing since there are at least two versions of everything related to this, including the family history on the region (Some say they are a good family employing tons of local, some say they are dedicated to drug dealing and have a cartel by the name "Galeana Cartel" and that they have taken land by force from many local families.

From this article and the linked videos and news articles it seems the family has a very bad past, related to drugs, political corruption and other things

    https://translate.google.com/transla...ados-unidos%2F

I tried translating this other link but Facebook doesn't allow a page translation, the guy has linked several videos and news articles from the past years that implicate the family in shootings, murders and plenty other illegal activities

    https://www.facebook.com/permalink.p...00009494906903

There's a quick translation from google:

Quote It is more than drug trafficking, exploitation, bigamy and religion. It is internal politics, and international interest.
    A dark background.
This conflict over the invasion of their ejido lands of the "Barzonistas" and among more than 7 thousand Mormons who are another organization of the "Le Barón" against in narco has years engaged in illegal activities beginning with the conduct of the former PRI deputy, Jorge Le Baron ......
And all the governors of Chiuahua only negotiated juicy agreements between both groups reaching the plurinominals in positions of popular election ... but even the most naive would think ...... So what did the current governor of the PAN Corrales? ??
Because I never report this conflict ???
Each state has its autonomy and the power resides in its local Congress ....
So ... who are the most guilty?

The mischievous conduct of the state government of Chihuahua and Sonora because they had in their hands this serious problem ... And today they use it to criticize the federal government ... when they are the only ones guilty of this so vile and unfortunate that even Innocent children took away ..... That's why I want to explain something that is THE TRUTH that only Chihuahuans live and have known for many years.

Hello partner, ... Blessed social networks .... Look I send you this information ... so that Mexicans do not confuse us, and we realize since when these confrontations and bread already existed ... very comfortable .

I belong to the state of Chihuahua, there is a lot of talk about 💣💥 THE LE BARON FAMILY 💥💥💣
Many do not know and do not know since when this serious conflict exists, but I do remember very well what happens. This is a current problem for us, it is an issue since 2018.
It is my duty as part of the Chihuahua community to inform all the people of Mexico what happened and thus help them form their own views and have a criterion on the subject.
The problem with the lebaron is a dispute over water and land control between the Lebaron family and those of the barzón group (ejidos that are around).
On several occasions these two had already had confrontations both in word and use of weapons.
What worries me most of all is how some politicians and some media are using the note as a political weapon to criticize the federal government and even to justify a military intervention by the United States.
I do not justify at any time comments or action of the federal government, but I criticize the state government action of sonora and chihuahua since they already had this problem in their hands since 2018

"The death of innocent children and women is not justified at all, the criminal groups look very coward, BUT THE LEADING MORMON JOEL LEBAR SOTO AND MISCELLANEOUS OF HIS CHILDREN LIKE BENJAMIN who was executed for drug trafficking in 2008, and the activist Dizque Julian Lebaron, and joel lebaron's brother, Daniel lebaron, who was also executed for drug trafficking in Sonora years ago, have DECADES dedicated to drug trafficking, and that many people know in the municipalities of Buenaventura and, Galeana, Lebaron etc, and in addition to committing many abuses and abuses against many humble people, such as dispossession of land, exploitation of clandestine aquifer wells to the detriment of hundreds and hundreds of peasants etc.
Even to the mother of former deputy Alex lebaron González, Ms. María González was arrested for drug trafficking in the CD Juarez cereso from 2002 to 2011 approx.
And since 2009 they have a federal police escort of about 50 agents and 12 artillery units granted to them by the federal government following Benjamin's execution, and where the Lebaron family "victimized", and with which they commit infinity of excesses such as hitting people, disarming every time they crave the municipal police of Galeana, Lebaron and even hitting the municipal police etc etc.
In fact, in the municipality of Galeana, the Lebaron family is known as "the Galeana Cartel" and they are repudiated by many people.
And 3 years ago Joel Lebaron was accused of sending a rancher named Cruz because he was one of the few who did not leave their arbitrariness, and Mr. Cruz sued Joel Lebaron, and one day before starting the trial for the Mr. Cruz filed a lawsuit, he was executed, and everyone knows that the intellectual author was JOEL.
And many more things that could be told of this Lebaron family and for which there are already several similar things that happen to them as a result of their illegal activities.
In addition to exercising a cacicazgo worthy of reports nationwide, but as they are gringos and has the backing of the US government that puts pressure on the Mexican government to protect and help these families in everything, they do nothing and do what they do. they feel like it for decades in Mexico. "
    .
And the information continues to flow.
Since all of these comes from people that may have relationships with either the government or drug cartels or the family itself, it is almost impossible to know the actual truth. In Mexico there is no way to know for sure, and going into that place to try and ask questions is like signing your dead certificate before hand, because you know what will happen

That's how things are in that place :S so i don't think we'll get very specific/clear details, people who know and live around that area are not going to talk out of fear of getting killed if they manage to anger someone

Polygamy is apparently much more widespread than I could believe. In the Mormon splinter communities this is a system that was created to benefit the leaders. Women and children have no rights. When a man has multiple wives and many many children, he is not invested in them.

There are lots of videos looking a the consequences of polygamy on the women and children in the splinter LDS groups.

Here is just one video from an ongoing program.

Here is a recent article after the massacre in Mexico. Th incident is stimulating calls to make polygamy legal in the US.

Quote Mexico killings renew calls to legalize polygamy in Utah and elsewhere

Philippa Juliet Meek wrote a series of tweets Saturday about Mormonism and the killings of nine U.S. citizens near La Mora, Mexico. Then she sent one about polygamy.

“Can we please just decriminalise and legalise polygamy?” Meek, a doctoral researcher at the University of Exeter in Devon, England, tweeted. “Like now. #marriageequality”

Meek is among the commenters referencing the Mexico massacre as an example of why polygamy should be made legal, or at least have its criminal penalties removed, in Utah and elsewhere.

Herriman resident Brooke Richey, who has distant relatives living in the Mexican Mormon communities, said the fact that Americans are living there — despite threats from drug cartels — shows the dangers involved in maintaining their religious beliefs.

“If polygamy were legalized,” the 23-year-old Richey said, “they probably would come back to the U.S. It just seems like they’re in such a vulnerable place.”

At least one group has pushed back against the idea of making laws friendlier to polygamists. In a Facebook post Monday, Polygamy.org, a coalition of plural marriage opponents, said residents moving from La Mora to the United States “will create more polygamists recruiting wives here, and more advocates trying to decriminalize polygamy.”

Leah Taylor, a former member of the polygamous Apostolic United Brethren, wrote that she is heartbroken for the families of the three mothers and six children slain Nov. 4. But she noted there’s no evidence the killers targeted the families because of their religion or polygamy.

“So to consider rewriting the law to accommodate polygamist families so we can prevent future tragedies is not the solution,” Taylor wrote to The Salt Lake Tribune.

The La Mora killings took place as the Utah Legislature is preparing another debate on polygamy. State Sen. Deidre Henderson, R-Spanish Fork, is readying a bill for the legislative session, which begins in January, that would reduce the penalty for polygamy to about that of a traffic ticket while also making it easier for law enforcement to pursue polygamists who commit frauds and abuses.

Current Utah law makes polygamy a felony punishable by up to five years in prison or up to 15 years if it is practiced in conjunction with other crimes such as fraud, abuse or human trafficking. The Utah attorney general’s office and other county attorneys in the state have policies of not prosecuting polygamy as a lone offense.

Many of the La Mora residents have family and religious ties to Utah, though none of the impacted families has lobbied publicly for a change to the state’s laws. Of the three families who lost loved ones Nov. 4, only one was from a plural marriage. Dawna Ray Langford, who died with two of her sons, 11-year-old Trevor and 2-year-old Rogan, was a second wife.

But the so-called fundamentalist Mormons in Mexico can trace their reason for being there to the desire to continue polygamy. The first Latter-day Saint colonies were established in the late 19th century because federal authorities cracked down on the practice in Utah. Later, the Salt Lake City-based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officially abandoned the practice.

Polygamy is against the law in Mexico, too, but that country has always been more lenient toward it. There has been no roundup of polygamists there like there was in Utah and Arizona as recently as the 1950s.

Last week’s deadly ambush did not necessarily change anyone’s mind about whether polygamy should remain against the law, but the killings did intensify Cristina Rosetti’s view.

She recently received a doctorate from the University of California-Riverside in religious studies and has focused her research on Mormon fundamentalism. She does not prefer polygamy but says it should be legalized so its practitioners, including those in La Mora, feel safe reporting crimes and seeking help.

“People need to recognize,” Rosetti said, “that with these marriages not being legal, there is a challenge for alimony for women who choose to leave. It is hard to get access to resources.

“When people want to go and report crimes that are happening in communities, they are criminals,” she added. “So how do women and children report that?”

Ryan McKnight also believes the Mexico killings have started a new round of discussion about polygamy. McKnight is a former member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who co-founded The Truth & Transparency Foundation, which publishes leaked and acquired documents about the Salt Lake City-based faith and other religious institutions.

McKnight said he has detected in the past few years a “growing undercurrent” of former Latter-day Saints desiring that polygamy be prosecuted to protect women and children, but he sees the communities in Mexico as existing only because of the 19th-century targeting of polygamists.

“The reasons behind wanting to criminalize polygamy,” McKnight said, “especially in the context of Mormon polygamy, are rooted in the idea that the critics believe they are solving the problem of a hyper-patriarchal relationship that often results in women and children suffering abuse.

“Trying to criminalize polygamy,” he added, “is the wrong way to solve it.”

Meek is in the final stages of completing her doctorate at Exeter. She studies perceptions of Mormon fundamentalism and has found much of the public opposition to polygamy is based on the worst stories of the practice.

“They think Warren Jeffs,” Meek said, referring to the imprisoned president of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. “They think abuse. They think women are being coerced, and that’s not necessarily the case. That’s rarely the case.”

Quote Video of killings of U.S. citizens in Mexico shows gunmen poised to torch SUV, says relative 11/23/2019
(Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune).

    By Nate Carlisle
The brother of one of the nine U.S. citizens with Utah ties killed in Mexico earlier this month says a video shows the moments between when gunmen fired on the victims’ first SUV and when they lit it on fire.

Adam Langford said the Mexican national police obtained the video, and one person with that force showed it to him. Langford, in a telephone interview Wednesday, said the video appears to be from a cellphone, lasts less than a minute and was taken from a hill overlooking the SUV that carried Maria Rhonita Miller and four of her children on Nov. 4.

The video, apparently recorded by one of the captured suspects, does not depict any gunfire or the blaze that engulfed the SUV, Langford said. But 12 to 15 men can be seen.

“They’re all in black,” Langford said, “all with assault rifles going toward the vehicles, toward their prey, toward [whom] they killed. At the end, the guy says, the jefe [head] guy says, ‘Burn it! Burn it! Burn it! Quémalo’ in Spanish.”

While the video doesn’t show the violence, the dialogue affirms suspicions of the victims’ families, who suspected the Miller SUV was intentionally ignited; that bullets didn’t spark the blaze.

The Millers were the first victims that day. About 10 miles up the road, gunman fired upon two other SUVs. In one of those vehicles, gunfire killed Dawna Langford, 43, and two of her sons, 11-year-old Trevor and 2-year-old Rogan.

Christina Marie Langford Johnson, 31, died in the other vehicle. She was the sister of Adam Langford. He also is the former presidente (the equivalent of the mayor) in La Mora, Sonora, where the victims lived.

La Mora’s residents — most of whom reportedly have now fled the town — can trace their roots to the late 19th and early 20th century, when members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints went to Mexico to continue the practice of polygamy. The Utah-based faith abandoned polygamy more than a century ago and now excommunicates members found practicing it.

The families in La Mora have maintained U.S. citizenship, and many households have relatives who married into so-called fundamentalist Mormon groups in Utah.

Adam Langford said he and a Miller relative were at the crime scene Nov. 11 with investigators from the Mexican national police and the FBI, which is assisting in the investigation. Someone Adam Langford believes works for the national police pulled him and the Miller relative aside and showed him the video. Adam Langford said the FBI was given a copy of it.

Adam Langford said he assumes the video was obtained from one of the suspects Mexican authorities say they have arrested. No other details about the capture have been disclosed.

The video did not answer any questions about why the women and children were targeted, Adam Langford said, but did demonstrate who was behind the killings — a cartel from the Mexican state of Chihuahua. The attacks happened on the line between that state and Sonora.

The evidence shows the Chihuahua cartel hiked into positions on the Sonora side to carry out the ambushes, Adam Langord said. While the shooters occupied high ground above the dirt road between La Mora and the town of Pancho Villa, they were not so far away that they couldn’t have known whom they were shooting.

“They knew it was the women and children,” Adam Langford said. “They don’t give a sh--.”

Three women and six of their children, related to the extended LeBaron family, were gunned down in an attack while traveling along Mexico's Chihuahua and Sonora state border on Monday.

When drug cartel gunmen opened fire on American women and children in northern Mexico on Monday, the Mexican Army, the National Guard and Sonora state police were not there to protect them. It took them about eight hours just to arrive.

He assumes the Chihuahua cartel was trying to scare or drive away residents to gain ground against Sonora’s Sinaloa cartel. That organization is best known for who once led it: Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.

Despite the Sinaloa cartel’s violent reputation, Adam Langford said, it has never extorted locals for protection payments and doesn’t steal from them.

The Chihuahua cartel may see those omissions as opportunities, he said.

“It’s literally like two countries going to war,” Adam Langford said, “and they want to invade to get more territory. It’s not that they have anything against us. If it was some poor Mexican family, they would have done the same thing.”

Adam Langford is also a cousin to Dawna Langford’s husband, David. She was traveling with nine of her 13 children. Five of them were injured in the shooting.

Eight-year-old Cody was the last to be released from a hospital, on Saturday, in Tucson, Ariz. His aunt Leah Staddon said David Langford plans to keep his family in Tucson for at least a few months for follow-up treatment and physical therapy.

Then David Langford might move his family to southern Utah, Staddon said. One of his adult daughters this summer married a young man from Hildale, Utah.

Before the shootings, La Mora had about 150 full-time residents and other people who came and went between jobs in the United States.

On Wednesday, Adam Langford said, only four or five families remained.

Quote June, 2016 The BC Court of Appeal ruled that polygamy in Bountiful, BC is not protected under the Charter. Two of the leaders In Bountiful, BC, one of them Winston Blackmore, have lost their appeal and are now charged under the Criminal Code.

Quote the 20th-century proliferation and growth of polygamist communities in Utah and surrounding states. The stories may seem similar on their face, but together they highlight the unimaginable breadth of the physical and mental abuses practiced on women and children (both sexes) to force them to conform and reproduce as fast as possible without being given adequate economic support, shelter, or virtually any medical care. Despite the abuse, there can never be enough women and girls to go around. You may rightly ask, where do the excess boys go? That definitely needs further investigation. I was shocked to learn that the Utah ACLU does nothing to oppose any of this. They call it "freedom of religion." It is no such thing. It is a major Human Rights issue that in my mind is much worse than the Chinese one-child policy. We are talking about tens of thousands of Americans. Possibly more.God's Brothel

Mexico massacre unites Mormon sects, even their exiles

(Reuters) - WhatsApp messages flooded Amber Bostwick’s phone last Tuesday as relatives sent harrowing accounts of the slaughter of nine women and children by drug cartel gunmen in northern Mexico.

The 35-year-old Seattle homemaker had spent much of her life trying to keep away from her parents’ self-described fundamentalist branch of the Mormon faith and Colonia LeBaron - her polygamist father’s Mexico community where some of the massacre victims were from.

But as she listened to the terror of relatives, she realized this threatened her Mexican-American half-siblings who live in Colonia LeBaron and nearby Mormon offshoot communities.

So she got online and started posting news of the killings and promoting a GoFundMe page set up by her brother for victims.

“The massacre has simply allowed me to support and love family,” said Bostwick, a convert to Christianity, whose mother was 15 when she gave birth to her, and who was later adopted by her U.S. grandparents.

The Nov. 4 killings have traumatized northern Mexico’s breakaway Mormon communities. Some dual-nationality families headed for the safety of the United States on Saturday after the last of their dead were buried.

But the deaths also brought together different Mormon groups, and even those who fled them, to demand that not only Mexico or the United States but an international taskforce intervene in the country’s endemic violence.

“They need to send experts in building a state of law,” said Adrian LeBaron, 58, of Colonia LeBaron, who lost his daughter Rhonita and four grandchildren in the attack. “I don’t want snipers, I want educators.”

    ‘WHATEVER IT TAKES’
Most of the victims of Monday’s massacre were from La Mora, a remote Mormon-linked farming village in Sonora around 80 miles (130 km) south of the U.S.-Mexico border.

Lafe Langford of La Mora, a relative of those killed, said many of his community are lapsed Mormons, few are in polygamous relationships and residents do not tolerate the kind of Mormon prophets Colonia LeBaron has a history of.

Both La Mora and Colonia leBaron were formed last century by “outcast” Mormons whose polygamist beliefs were rejected by the mainstream Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

“We’re going to have to put aside our religious differences and focus on basic rights like liberty and justice,” said LeBaron, whose father was a prophet, and who has four wives, and until Monday, 39 children and 79 grandchildren.

Langford agreed, saying not only the communities, but Mexico and the United States had to work together on security.

“We call on both countries to unite and bring in the right qualified personnel to do whatever it takes,” said Langford, 33, who splits his time between La Mora and Louisiana. He is fearful at present to settle permanently in Mexico with his seven children.

    ‘INDIGNANT MEN’
La Mora had previously been spared violence that has killed more than 250,000 Mexicans since 2007 and touched Colonia LeBaron.

But on Monday La Mora’s Miller, Langford and Johnson families suffered the same agony relatives in Colonia LeBaron felt 10 years ago when Benjamin LeBaron and his brother-in-law Luis Widmar were murdered after they stood up to cartel violence.

Long united by marriages, the communities were pushed closer together as they faced the choice of protecting families, or fleeing homes and farms built over three generations.

Rosa LeBaron Abbate, another woman who left the fundamentalist faith, said difficult times were coming for Colonia LeBaron and La Mora.

“There are a lot of indignant men in both communities, young, they’re going to make a plan, possibly that includes the help of both countries,” said LeBaron Abbate, 65. She returned to her birthplace Colonia LeBaron 13 years ago after living in the United States for more than three decades.

LeBaron Abbate, who manages a Christian church in Colonia LeBaron with her American pastor husband, said she only fully processed the “trauma of childhood” in a “fully fundamentalist Mormon town” when she converted to Christianity at age 42.

She said Mexico had to bury its pride and accept help from the United States or a group of nations.

“They have to wipe these bad men out of Mexico, just like the coalition that goes in to Syria and these places,” said LeBaron Abbate, adding that she now has strong relationships with all her family’s different “sects.”

Back in Seattle, Bostwick said her social media posts on the massacre had connected her with distant relatives in Mexico.

She had previously built resentments among some of them by speaking up against “the atrocities” of her parents’ religion, such as polygamy and underage marriage.

“This is, and is going to, bring the different groups closer together,” Bostwick said of the massacre.
